Hi, thanks for your presentation! DIN stands for "Deutsche Industrie-Norm". The DIN-Norm describes the norm of paper (DIN-A4 for a typical paper-sheet or for envelopes). Greetings from Germany!

Thanks for the video. It is really interesting that the germans let the factorys to make typewriters during the war time.
I have three german typewriters from the war time, an Erika, a Triumph Norm 6 (both 1943) and a1942 Olympia Progress.
In my opinion the Olympia is one of the few typewriters that really are pure functionalism as their design.

Hey, I have exactly the same model even from 1944! There is something wrong with the platen knob. It is not perfectly attached to the axle.

    Hi lads
Great teamwork you have guys. Awesome job.
I've just acquired an Olympia Elite here in Australia.
I agree the tab lever is rather confusing. Mine is in fabulous condition. It's made in Germany also but is a qwerty. Does not have any German keys. Sometimes the carriage gets stuck on the left side and won't move back. First time it did this I almost freaked out as thought it was broken. I finally got it unstuck by fiddling with the right side margin slider, which seemed to be caught on something in the back so not sure what was going on there.
Aside from that all working smoothly.
It has serial # 664146. What year do you think this one was made?
Thanks for the great vid boys.
    Regards Jo in Aus
