I think I'm done with Cauldron games from now on LOL. A lot of you guys joined me on twitch and it was awesome! If you want to hang out in the future, come give a follow! www.twitch.tv/jarek4gamingdragon
I got to thank you for showing me games which I never heard of lol !! Enjoy your vids, BTW, is the ending of all your videos related to Final Fantasy after the battle music ? just wondering it sounds so familiar..
You should check out the King Kong videogame, just to wash your mouth from Cauldron taste
@@A-G-F- King Kong the movie game... ah the memories. Unless you played PC in which case I'm so sorry.
PLEASE review secret service PLEASE
How bad is spec ops stealth patrol for ps1 really?
I just imagine one of the devs waking up in a cold sweat the night after launch
He phones his co-worker
"Tim? TIM? TIM!"
"Yeah dude, what is it?"
"WE COULD HAVE MAPPED THE WEAPONS TO THE D-PAD"
"OH FU-"
Lmfao
But how would they repair things, Dave?
@@nickdahl203 Duh, idk, hold Y maybe. 😐
Not gonna lie as a kid I loved this game.

Yeah I had so many fun memories of it
ya i love this game
same i still love it
Dude the scorpion level was wild and he barely mentioned it. I mean, it's a goofy little game but I think it symbolises when gaming didn't have to be serious. I found this video just due to looking if there would be some kind of remaster lol
Well in BO2 when Mason survives and comes back he is 40 years older, doesn't sound any different either.
@@Daftanemone You must be some sort of troll. How you gunna sit there and say something that stupid. Even as a joke that's lame asF
I remember his voice sounding more gruff in 2025 actually
his voice did subtly change though, 'cause mason had an AMAZING voice actor that really made the character so memorable. his voice did change subtly though however, it became slightly more raspy & gruff & woods' voice became quite raspy in BO2 when it was him as an old man, compared to the missions with him and mason when they're still young. @@Daftanemone
@@Daftanemone Alex mason's voice DID change in his old age, though.
thinking back on it, both Alex & woods' voice actors added noticeable aging to their voices which became quite evident when you'd finish one of the flashback missions back to Vietnam and, then to hear woods speaking/hear mason talking to his son.
y'know, whats his face that is the main character in BO2.
even mason's sons voice sounds the "same" when he's a kid to when he's an adult it sounds the same but like he's grown up & went through puberty & his voice got deeper.
the voice acting in both black ops' [3 and 4 aren't even black ops games IMO] is one of not only the best voice acting jobs in any media, be it games or, animated movies, but one of the VERY REASONS those games were not only so good but also memorable.
since y'know they had voice actors that actually knew what they were doing & thought the characters through and, put tons of thought about every aspect of how these characters will sound, as they go through life and age, [seemingly] experience the loss of their best friend and forever hold that pain in their heart (woods an mason especially noticeable if you accidentally killed Alex Mason,) et cetera et cetera.
voice actor here just didn't give a fuck to think about it nor do anything more than what justified their [most likely] absurd pay rate to do this particular gig, since they knew the game wouldnt bring them shit all in royalty fees, since it barley sold really, since we all know games based on movies are always massive flops.
except for meet the Robinsons tbh, yeah that game is a ratchet & clank wannabe clown, however its fun and the story is pretty good if you were really into that movie as a kid/younger beginning end of teenager aged teen, like my sister was. lol but yeah point remains, this game was destined to flop and the voice actor didn't give a flying fuck. & that really shows.
@@unfortunately_fortunate2000 Jurassic the hunted wasn't based on a movie
Recognized that revolver rifle from the Activision History Channel Civil War game from 2007. Same animation and model. I wonder if Cauldron reused more material than we thought.
You even use a brown bess muzzle loader, go figure
You sure that's a Brown Bess? Looked like the Winthrop Rifle which was in the Civil War sequel game.
@@LadyTylerBioRodriguez
Just looked again, it is a Withworth Rifle
@@A-G-F- Yeah. The irony is that Civil War game tried to pass it off as a breech loading rifle. Not even remotely.
The shotgun is recycled from Soldier of Fortune Payback
I like how Rock isn’t even shocked to finally see Dillon. He doesn’t get emotional or hugs him. He is just like “It’s good to see you I’m old”

He's not small, he's *compact*
Wait what? The GUY WHO DIED TO PINWHEEL played this?
Sometimes, I can still hear the bees too
Mimiyo yeah, but that was back before the plague hit.
What streamer?
Well, since we're in a jurassic mood, may I suggest Jurassic Park: Trespasser?
Your lifebar is literally an heart tattoo on your character's right boob which you have to look down on every time you want to check your health.
Also, your left arm is broken. So to aim you have to rotate your right hand, slowly, mind you. That won't stop you from using shotguns, for some reason.
Skills big
It's a pretty decent game TBH though
Great physics engine and great concepts for a survival game at the time
Trespasser was not a good game even by that time period. You had very little view distance relative to the landscape, you couldn't really use Melee weapons, and doing any sort of gunplay kind of sucked.
But it was a really really faithful game, lots of cool dialogue and secrets, and it was certainly innovative with the way it let you interact with physics.
Still, it came out 1 year after Goldeneye: 007 and 2 years before Halo:CE so it isn't exactly excusable.
Loved it for the record.
@@xotl2780 yes I think faithful should've been the word I used too

Hang on, at 1:43 that's the Colt Revolving rifle from the 1850s. That weapon was used in the History Channel game Civil War A Nation Divided and its successor Civil War Secret Missions. Hell the model and animation are the exact same. Hmmmmm. You know speaking of which those two games would probably be amusing to review. A Civil War FPS is... rare let's just say. EDIT. Cauldron made those Civil War game. This is both surprising but also not looking back.
These devs made that game
@Metsarebuff 22 I actually own that. It's not quite a Civil War FPS but close enough I guess. The closest to a historical FPS would be a steam multiplayer game called War of Rights. I concur, amusing review for that thing. It has its problem but goddamn it, a fully automatic machine gun at Antietam? Hells yes.
@@jspike96 Damn your right. That makes complete sense. They seemed to have done a lot of historical shooters. I'm pretty sure the BAR model is from the Battle for the Pacific game they made.
This game is basically a greatest hits recycling of all Cauldron's previous games. The "modern" weapons are taken from Soldier Of Fortune Payback and Secret Service, the "WW2" weapons are from History Channel's Battle For The Pacific, and the "Civil War" weapons are from the History Channel Civil War games.
You want a GOOD dino killing game? Play Dino Crisis 2
Or 1 for a good horror dinosaur game
You want a BAD dino killing game: ORION: Prelude
Turok is another great Dino game
Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues for SNES? Contra with dinosaurs and human mercenaries...
Lost World for PS1 is awesome. It's super jank, but pretty fun. Plus the surprisingly high level of violence never gets old.
Tvtropes has a name for that, "Fake Difficulty"
A fellow man of culture!
TVTropes is awesome
"Sigh" i guess i will spend the next 5 hours reading tv tropes again
I was absolutely obsessed with the demo that they had on the Xbox 360 store, it was like a horde mode that was in a small arena with two Gatlin guns (I believe there was two???) Fgat allowed you to mow down enemies quickly
Glad someone remembers the demo, I played the shit out of it too lol
Same here fan lmao back when we had demos out the ass
Bro hahaha yessss I played the hell out of that
Me too
Oh shit dude I remember that from an OXM demo disc
I remember getting this game for like 6 bucks at gamestop lol I dont think I ever finished it and I completely forgot this "masterpiece" existed till your vid popped up in my notifications
Edit: thanks for the nostalgia Jarek 😚
This game was a budget game, it released for $19.99 US and I remember because I worked near a Walmart when they got a shipment of this game lol . And even then looking at it fresh out of the box on release day.... I said "this looks like a budget game" lol
This game was a part of my child hood man. god the memories of fighting that spino were great.
Video: this game is shit!
75% of comments: but i liked this game!
I loved it
@@smokingcrab2290 exactly, back then I loved it bc it simply had dinosaurs and alright graphics, I also loved the different types of dinosaurs so, you're absolutely right.
It is a great game. Survival mode is just like zombie mode in Call of Duty but with Dinosaurs
This game is fantastically fun
When you consider how few and far between dinosaur shooting games are, Jurassic the Hunted is definitely up there as one of the best, as it’s a linear, arcade type game. Turok is also a no-brainer, but in those games, you spend like 70% of the game shooting soldier type enemies rather than dinosaurs. This game is purely centered on shooting dinosaurs. The only real criticism I have toward this game is that most of the enemies are just raptors with the exception of bosses.
Mindjack (2010) , we need this vídeo.
Yes
I’m sorry to say this, but...what’s the plan, Dutch?
@@dutchplanderlinde4845 we'll i was thinking and then it hit me how about we rob a train
I don't know what is happening, the smoke the gun, the whole world is explode. Then we a running, running very fast.
Top tier Square Enix game that one was.
This actually sounds more like the original Turok stories than the 2008 reboot. The time vortexes pulling things in from throughout history sounds like the Lost Land to me.
dudr when i was like 11 this game was my SHIT lol I got it on my Wii and played through it like 3 times 😂
I played it when I was like 7 and the main character said the word shit and I stopped playing
hell yeah lmao
Little Toes I stopped playing when I saw the dead triceratops because it scared me
I believe that this game was supposed to be a DLC for soldier of fortune payback
@@shadyrecords4386
And all the other weapons are just reskinned
@@shadyrecords4386
They did the same thing with another fps called "secret service".
The surviving game was fun when it was free to play on Xbox and I was broken😂😂😂
I'm broken too. Broke AND broken 🙄
Damn man you make genuinely good and entertaining videos, been watching you for a few months now. Hope I can see your channel grow, you deserve it
We need a actual Turok 4. Turok 3:SoO left with adon going to find Joshua cuz she believes he's alive somewhere, The counsil turned out to be evil and sends someone to stop here, that's the cliffhanger. If it did come back, I would like to be able to play as either Adon or Joseph (since Danelle is have a child) and find Joshua and have the counsil as the main enemy. Just my thought on a new dinosaur game.
I'd prefer a turok reboot. Its been so long. It's the turok 2 was the first game I played in 2001. So many memories. The IP has really good potential. The time is right for a reboot.
Turok 2008 sold enough to green light a sequel, but Disney shut down most of their game studios while it was in development.
Turok pretty much needs a reboot. Not sure how well the remasters of Turok 1 and 2 have sold on Steam and consoles...
0:16 "Ah shit, here we go again."
The graphics actually seem decent imo. Personally I'm looking at it in the context of the budget.
Cauldron's games all use the exact same game engine, but it does seem to perform pretty good graphics-wise.
They're basically average for the time it was released. I'd say they were basically on par with other kind of budget/mediocre games of the time like Turok (the shitty remake) or Haze. The real issue was the poor performance. The game runs unbelievably bad.
wait...most people don't play with a finger on the bumper and a finger on the trigger? I would think that's the normal way to play with a controller.
I did when I was younger, but my hands are too big to hold any of them like that anymore :(
Yeah I didn't get that either. I'm pretty sure that's how most people hold it and that this guy is the one in the minority that doesn't hold the controller that way.
I don't.
Only real og’s played with the wii remote
very high quality video! keep up with the good work!
I might actually be lucky i found this one, since this is a north american release exclusive and i got in malta of all places at their comic con for 13e so on the rather cheaper side in 2022. Yeah it is not really all that great but it is a fun shooter for someone like me who likes dinosaur shooters like Dino Crisis and Turok, we really need to see those comeback.
Really excellent review. Very discerning, excellent diction, excellent editing to prove points etc.
Thank you. Subscribed.
Oh man I had some kinda survival mode demo that I played so much as a kid. Honestly my memory of that is a blur I just remembered the sights and sounds and some of the fear I got out of a raptor damaging me when I was helpless as a kid with no video game skills.
I remember the game case had a picture of a triceratops in the back and thought I was going to fight one at some point in the game, never did. I really wish this game fleshed out its story or content more.
I used to play the Wii version of this game a lot.
Michael Murphy i had a lot of fun with the 360 version, did u have fun w the wii version¿
I loved this on the wii
me too with the ps2 version. geeez i loved this generic shooter
You are extremely good to listen to at work! great video love the games you cover.
I think your 6.5 was perfect for the game. I remember dropping some time into it when i was a youngen and I still remember some points were I was annoyed of the difficulty (I was 11 at the very oldest)
When I was younger I loved playing with Dino-riders. There's definitely potential in that franchise for a cool fps.
I loved this game growing up. I h ad an obsession with scifi original movies at the time and this really felt like playing one
The black powder sniper rifle is straight ripped from the History Channel: Civil War game!
And the "modern" weapons are all ripped from Soldier Of Fortune Payback and Secret Service!
there was an RTS I played a demo of as a kid where it was sort of in a semi modern time sort of ww2 but instead it follows a middle age style with dinosaurs
Ooh now that you name dropped it I want to see you do Turok 2008 lol
Calduron even reused the "Adrenaline" mode in a Cabela's game.
I dont remember the name of that game, but it is basically Jurassic: The Hunted but with predators
In reference the price of this game at launch.
The 360/PS3 versions were $59.99
The Wii version was $49.99
The PS2 version was $39.99
$60 for a 2 hour game. Absolutely insane!
JarekTheGamingDragon I know! The only reason I remember those prices was because I worked as a temp at Gamestop for Christmas and was working when the copies came in. Me and the other associate remarked how terrible the game must be and how overpriced it was. We only got three copies of the PS2 version and they sat there for a long time. Of course the thought of paying $39.99 for a PS2 in 2008 was ludicrous.
I would like to see a remake of Jurassic park trespasser. Using either the unreal 4 or the cryengine. And gameplay similar to The Long Dark
I remember playing this back in the day. It was the best dinosaur game I’ve ever played back when I was 5-9
I really liked this game when i played, it had that bermuda triangle vibes, dinos, and every single weapon i like....
The weapon cycling is the reason I dont have the nuck chorris rex achievement. It takes so long to switch between the rockets and minigun
I remember this and i actually liked it it was one of my first games as a kid when i didnt even know any english or how to play videogames properly
Love your videos, very informative and it is always nice to see a reviewer playing bad videogames NOT do the "angry videogame nerd" shtick
I've got so many fond memories of this game. It's a big part of my childhood.
I do like watching you slog through and explain WHY games are shit. It's interesting and entertaining. Thanks for taking the hit for the rest of us. You da man!
I'm surprised he didn't comment on the music. The boss theme is awesome.
I remember this game very fondly from my 360 days, but I haven't played it in a LOOONG time.
I used to play this game on the wii and I remember I was too scared to continue after a certain point because I was scared of the big dinosaurs so I only beat like 3 levels and keep replaying them
12:07 There is a term for that, it's called "Halo 2 on Legendary."
In the words of Angry Joe in slow mo, "TWO....HOURS. Two fucking hours"?!
I don't remember it being that short
I beat this game on the wii when I was like 10, nostalgia
Is your snap aiming going slightly to the right off the body?
I played this game when i was in highschool with my buddy Cody on his 360. This shit is really fun to play woth a buddy cracking jokes.
As the top ranking player for the 360 in Survivor Mode, may I say it is really fun to play despite any of the flaws mentioned.
The only real objection I have is that the dinos have primordial feathers.
12:07 The term I use for games being hard in the wrong way is "Artificial Difficulty" instead of "Actual Difficulty".
Actual difficulty provides a fun challenge, anybody can artificially inflate a difficulty level by spawning loads of enemies or just generally not giving the player a fair chance but that doesn't make it a fun challenge to overcome with skill and practice. It's just something hard for the sake of it.
Also I subbed, I love a good game analysis but a lot of the ones I see on RUclips are a bit disappointing. This was 10/10.
I liked the part where you shot the dinosaurs.
The Call Of Duty franchise is one of the biggest offenders of Artificial Difficulty. All they did on the hardest difficulty was have the enemies throw non-stop grenades, have pinpoint accuracy no matter the distance, and be able to kill you with just a bullet or two!
I remember playing this game way back in the day on the 360
It’s not bad, it’s not great, it’s good.
It’s a fun game that gives us a glance at what a Jurassic Park FPS could’ve been like. (I mean, one that actually functions right.)
After this video I went out and bought this game. I love it. I play it whenever I’m bored and it’s my guilty pleasure but I can’t even say I’m guilty about it because it is fun. Ridiculous fun! Thank you for bringing this to my attention! :)
You have been doing a lot of these on games I played as a kid that everybody says is bad but I really like. Please, PLEASE, I need you to do an episode on Turok: Evolution
I remember playing this game on the Wii as a kid and I really loved it but it could have definitely been better looking back on it
I had a lot of fun playing this back in the day.
I believe this was one of my first xbox 360 games when i picked up an xbox 360, i had good memories but i didn't get it complete. It was really fun despite being published by activision.
When I was younger, I used to play this game in my PS2 and I had fear playing
I played this game on my older brothers ps3 when I was like 9 or 10. It’s not that good of a game from an older perspective, but some good memories.
Downloaded the Demo for this years ago, it was just the horde mode, I like horde modes but, I kinda want a couple levels to mess with when trying to make a purchasing decision. Kinda feel like I dodged a bullet now
This was one of my first games on PlayStation 3 and I personally loved this game.
The demo for this was soooo good, it included most of the weapons and went forever.
The BAR sounds like the Ruger from Vice City!
I remember playing this game on my Wii when I was kid. Beat it too.
Jarek: *sees shitty game audience might be interested it.*
“Ah shit, here we go again”
8:31..little bit of Angry Video Game Nerd there? WHAT WERE THEY THINKING??? XD
i had it for the wii when i was younger(might still have it lying around, idk). The cursor liked to freeze alot and get you killed in fights. A change of controller and sensor didn't help this
I gotta play this again soon.
I played this when I was maybe 7 or 8. I remember seeing it in stores and then searching for it one day at game stop, asking for the “Dinosaur hunting game”
The night levels scared me when i was young
I like the teardowns, the background and development of terrible games is often interesting
When I was in 2nd grade, I had the ps2 port of this game and loved it.
8:31 *WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?*

Played this game a Lot in my PS2,around 10 years Ago. In that time the game was Very Fun for me. Now I am curious If the PS2 version had leds contente than the PS3/360. Good vídeo, congratulations
My uncle actually bought this at Walmart in a pack it had battlefield bad company and this game and as a kid I actually really enjoyed it now I imagine if I found it and played it now I probably wouldn't care for it to much.
My guilty pleasure, I'm still waiting for the sequel
😂😂hhhhhh...........same for the sequel😉
You should play Carnivores Cityscape, it's a FPS dinosaur game set in a futuristic city.
I thought no one else played this game other than me. I remember it having a weird thing where Wii version had more cutscenes.
I had this game on the PS2, loved it. Had dinosaurs, guns and a cool slow mo X-ray mechanic. My kid mind was blown away by that alone.
Yeah the ps2 was perfectly fine. Sad to see the 360 version was so bad.
I remember playing a demo for this game on a disk that came with an official Xbox magazine way back then
Jarek i recently found your channel and i have to say that most of your reviews that i have watched are good and today i decided to subscribe to your channel and i have to tell you that YOU SHOULD REALLY review turok 2008 and turok evolution for sure!!!! and whatever version that you want for each game.
I actually streamed turok on this channel (before I swapped to twitch for streaming) a good year or 2 ago. I don't have plans to review turok '08 any time soon but maybe in the future.
oh okay i was hoping that you could review it now soon and evolution but ok then when you are ready and you want to review them both i will still be here watching your content and waiting for the day that you will review them.
I played this game back back in the day, was a giant dinosaur fan. I loved this game for the most part! Had to order it on amazon and it came from I think England with a bag of gummies.
To this day I wanna play an awesome PC dinosaur island survival fps game.... it never came out
...I knew I saw those Civil War era guns somewhere!
These guys developed the History Channel Civil War FPS thing, History Civil War: Secret Missions.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_Civil_War:_Secret_Missions
From what I can tell they simply reused the Whitworth and the Colt Revolving Rifle entirely.
I played this game sooooo much on the wii back in the day
I remember playing this game on the Wii as a kid. I know, it's awful! But the nostalgia is real. I kind of want to pick it up and play it again just so I can remember my childhood.
Some people say that Payback obviously doesn't run on modern PC because it is old, being released in 2007. Meanwhile I still play pre-2007 games on my PC that can run any current AAA game, without any problem!
