    I happen to have Extreme empathy. I often literally feel the other person's (animal and human) suffering. This is a very painful existence. But I would not trade it for less compassion Ever. This heightened compassion makes me one with my dog and the Infinite Cosmos. This is Love. I care More about the other being than myself and I would give my life to save him or her.

    The question about reincarnation from Rama was probably the most interesting. Meditation is the must to answer all these questions. Ancient texts like Upanishads are teaching about inner science. Education should be the mixture of both. Adlai Lama is right saying that “problems are our own creations”.

    I noticed that too, I think the language barrier between them and the fact the Dali Lama sort of brushed his question aside led to that. Mostly based off misunderstanding. I mean V.S could have understood him more clearly then I and it translated to him being insulted.

    It is completely unfactual what the Dalai Lama said. It has been scientifically proven that animals have compassion beyond their own species. This has been Observed for thousands of years that animals will rescue an animal from another species other than their own including a human. That is the mother instinct which is Love and which always exceeds one's own species because compassion does not draw a line. Compassion is non dual.

    Karma:whatever goes around comes around Newton’s second law:for every action,there is an equal and opposite reaction. Coincidence?

    • @rodrigosilveira2525
      @rodrigosilveira2525 4 года назад +1

      Emily The Weirdo totally. Newton’s law of action and reaction talks about bodies interacting by forces. This karma formulation talks about humor, emotions, empathy and perception of external events.
      Two very distinct objects. The supposed similarity comes only because of the poor formulation, causing confusion and creating the illusion of similarity.

    It is because we do not know ourselves that we get into trouble in our society because if you have control of your emotions you will never get angry or break the laws or fight with your wife or steal of rob anybody because when we know ourselves we become masters of our ego and the spiritual abilities will be manifested thru the real self and not the ego or evil in us.

    I would have a lot more respect for the Dalai Lama if he had insisted that everyone in the panel can sit on a comfortable chair as he got. Yes I know that''s envy and being picky. But if most of this is about symbols: This simple symbol for equality is in fact also a symbol that helps mutual compassion.

  • @bernardonavarro3409
    @bernardonavarro3409 8 лет назад

    It is interesting the point of the physics of the mind, because we only know the effects of those emotions but we do not know how they are manifested but we know of the existence of those attributes of the human consciousness. Moreover, his scientific religious beliefs are focused in the self control of those emotions just like the great master Jeshua said, " know yourselves and you will know my father" In other to know myself I need to have control of my emotions and master them to a degree.

    The Dalai Lama is a master's of his own self or the real which is the invisible or the spirit and that is everlasting because its regenerative and mutable. Moreover, he is saying that science and the scientific community is only focusing in the material or the ego which the physical manifestations of the innerself. Therefore, we should have emphasis in that what we cannot see or touch which are those things that are created by the mind, eg emotions, compassion, anger, happiness ect...

    It's interesting to note that the philosopher is from a Roman Catholic institution, claiming that science and religion can be friends. I don't agree, and especially not Christianity or Islam.

    In regards to the Holly Dalli Lama he can only tell us what we can understand because there are occult sciences that even the most renown occultist like Alister Crowly and John Dee did not understood and they were outstanding people of science. Anyhow if they and others like our own scientific community cannot comprehend then we will not have a clue of those hidden pathways of wisdom. However, even Jeshua said, "milk for the kids and meat for grownups. So it is the path to enlightenment.

    Buddhists most certainly accept that last claim. I'd remind you that the first tenet of Buddhism is that all of this is suffering. The entire point of the religion is to *stop* being reborn. In fact, Buddhists should be the first to celebrate the news that people aren't reborn. There would be celebration in the Buddhist world if that were true. Don't assume that Buddhism is anything like Abrahamic religion -it isn't.

    Hinman needs to shut up an study the Mental Alchemy movement. To take things like negative emotion and convert them into a positive until you only feel positive. That there is not a matter of who you are compassionate with because you are compassionate to everything. This is possible because in Quantum theory everything is connected and a part of each component.

    Funny how Ramachandran Is the only one not clapping at the end... I feel the dalai lama expresses superiority in attitude/body language (contrary to the values he expressed) and gets the attention because of more simplistic/ morally soothing blabing, a croud pleaser, whithout answering much of the questions really. Shame the woman didnt talk much about her subject also...

    Man, it's such a shame neuroscience is so new. I'd PAY to watch a younger His Holiness engage in dialogue with the findings of neuroscience research. Now THAT would be a conversation. Nonetheless, this is still great material. I rememebr when I first discovered Buddhism. It's as if I'd been a poor homeless person all my life and someone showed me the way to food, water and shelter. True story, but only Buddhist practice will make one find out.

      Neuroscience is the most rapidly advancing area of science. The existence of great spiritual masters, yogis who have spent 60 years in a cave, and all of our research concerning their brains allows us to leapfrog what would have taken many decades to discover otherwise. Many labs are working on reverse-engineering enlightenment right now, and some methods are in Phase II and III trials. Basically, can we get done with the push of a button what these yogis have spent a lifetime actualizing?
      Pschedelic therapy also holds huge potential for spiritual practice. If used wisely, psychedelics can provide deep authentic insights and they vastly increase neuroplasticity, making it much easier to change embedded patterns in your brain, as the brain tends to ossify after about the age of 25.

    You guys need to get to a place of being able to scientifically determine where the root cause is in the body- meaning if karma is cellular based on consciousness giving rise to a body appropriate to its karmic learning. I need to know where this is setting up. I know it is in the body. Please increase your field quickly on these matters. Please determine pointedly really how this works. We know the body is a heap of elements and spaces My opinion is it is in the cells and DNA- that is where karma is stored or that is what cells are. I need to know so can start figuring some things out. Thanks. Long life holiness.

    Interestingly, there is lot that can be learn in You Tube and the science of the Yoke or Yogui is what Jeshua was speaking about when he was referring to hidden path ways and that is the art of the Kundulini or the science of the serpent that is the mystery of ancient times. Moreover, it consist in raising the seven chakras or glands in our bodies like the pineal gland, the thyroid gland and all other glands to make them function in conjunction to a point when the electric charge goes on top of our heads and then we will get direct knowledge or gnosis from the universe itself which the Hindus call Prajna. It is the ultimate baptism of fire and water it is statel of being and the ultimate degree of spirituality.

    pcuimac The Dalai Lama has never expressed an intention to rule Tibet again. He doesn't 'rule' the Tibetan government in exile, it is elected and he is the spiritual head only. He doesn't even want independence for Tibet, recognizing that goal is unrealistic, but wants a form of limited autonomy to give Tibetans some degree of control over their own culture. The Chinese are engaged in a policy of settling Tibet with Han Chinese in a less brutal attempt to dilute Tibetan culture and identity than the mass murders and wholesale destruction of the 1960s.

    Reincarnation . once upon time Itoo was ridiculing this. but after learning,reading yoga specially Vethatri maharshi who esttablishe sky yoga after his research on Manikkavasagar,Patanjali he hypothesised the genetic centre in the body that is' 'Mooladhara center' where a seed of your next generation comes are your reincarnation. permutation' of combination of your, youwifeand your ancestors are distributed inthe nex generation of your children,grand children brothr sisters who all share the genes.
    He even hypothsised your ambition,unfulfilled wishes are registered in yourgenes and carried over to the next generation. May be your 4thor 5th generation child may get that gene and will have that wish and pursue it. I am very much impressed. physicallywe see the same reseblences of people in far off places,mannerism or tastes or wishes. I am broughht born and brought up in a South Indian brahmin family with beliefs like reincarnation (you die aand reborn from your ashses.)

    compassion for a bunch of neurons and chemicals is a waste of time, nature itself has no compassion for the body which ends up dead for instance eaten by worms or vultures and turned into stool. Its the person in the body we have compassion for, This person is Atma, the soul. Reincarnation is taking place based on the survival after death of the person in the form of the eternal element know as the Atma, or atomic particle that is not changing as the body decays and changes. The neurology department is still yet to identify the conscious entity that commands the neurons to move the limbs of the body because the Atma is an atomic particle that is undetectable using modern technology or sense perception. The material world as a whole is 90% dark matter so this should be no surprise to us. Dark matter is not out their somewhere, its everywhere, its the 90% of all things we can't register with our instruments, this discussion was somewhat disappointing to watch due to the fact, that these people are meant to be both spiritually and materially the leaders of millions, and yet have very little to say outside of their institutional repetitive chirping's.
