After watching 5 months ago.I bought temu grips for my clubs & putter, saved over £100 & they are fantastic. Cheers Gary
Cheers Simon
I think it’s quality what you are doing, showing a cheaper option 👍
I watched the original vid when you fitted them so was eagerly anticipating this one.
It's a really interesting subject as I've worked in quality assurance/control throughout my career , the definition of quality for me is "fitness for purpose" does the product meet with customer expectation ?
in this example the answer is 100 percent yes.
Keep doing the counterfeit/ fake revies Gaz , it's a very good service that I think your followers appreciate.
I bought Z Grip align grips off Temu. They have been absolutely brilliant. Wearing really well after 4 months.
Genuine new ones are overpriced, I’d prefer the fake ones to be unbranded even if they look similar. I doubt you’ll be getting any Golf Pride or Super Stroke sponsorship any time soon. I’d stay away from any fake PXG product though! 😉
I don't use the fake Golf Prides but I do use Champkey grips from Amazon for a set, which were £40 when I last re-gripped. Found no problem with them.
How’s the durability on the grip? I usually do saplize but I feel like they get feeling more slick a few months in
@@PJo336 5 months on still feel good
I love mine!
I've used the Temu gripfor 6 months I have no issues with them
I don't like counterfeit products, but I do appreciate you showing us all the differences and bringing it to public attention.
We’re pretty much to the end of the fake stuff, it’s now time to explore the reasonably priced brands we don’t know 👌🏼
@garymartingolf Oh that'll be fun!
@@garymartingolf Great!
The SuperStroke putter grips wear terribly, and I’m talking about the real ones. A white SuperStroke grip looks like crap in 3-6 months.
I had Golf Pride New Decade grips on my irons and they cost me £14 a club to re-grip by the pro 2 years ago. I bought the fake ones from Temu last month for £3 each and my mate fitted them. One thing I noticed was they felt alittle thinner than the real ones so I added a couple of extra layers of tape, grips feel no different. I also re-gripped my 3 fairway woods with fake Golf Pride MCC plus 4 grips to match the real one my pro put on my driver and again I cannot tell the difference. The real driver grip was £15, the Temu fake grips were 3 for £10
Two inexpensive brands of grips are Grip One and Karma. They both have grips for less than $5.00 each and are excellent quality.
I’m going to try the Karma ones, I’ve seen them and I love the fact they’re making their own versions of the gold pride models at reasonable prices.
I've had the exact same fake grips on for over 12 months. Had at least 100 rounds and they look exactly the same.
Always enjoy watching Dan on the channel, fair play to Dan using them but like you say I also wouldn’t use them either, great video again Gaz
Cheers TT. I’m now going to be looking into reasonably priced equipment from real brands we’ve not heard of.
They are great grips at great prices that shows just how much we are being ripped off, so no snobbery from me , temu grips and maybe a lesson or two or a round, and for those out there that think Amazon don't do fakes then beware as they are as reliable as eBay, if you really want genuine product then go to a genuine shop. Great show guys keep them coming.
Cheers Paul. You’re not wrong on the Amazon front! Very true!
I've been playing temu grips for over a year and they are fine today you have to save money where you can to pay for golf
Using midsize grips from temu, would definitely use them again.
Not seen a negative review from users yet.
I did the same as a few here, watched the first video and bought a set. Mine are still as good as new.
By giving an informed review people can make a choice and at the end of the day people have the choice , they can buy them and use them or choose not to buy them , at the end of the day people have a choice what they want to do
Paid 196 for my clubs and have now done my daughter's with eBay versions of the same golf pride multi compound grip that cost £34. I honestly cannot tell the difference so will be taking the cheap route in the future.
Im not surprised by this conclusion as a Temu grip user
Great video. Have to be honest with being on a budget I’ve just ordered a Super Stroke grip off Temu and after watching this I will probably buy my new grips off there too. Just bought a rangefinder off there which I will be trying out next week too
I think its important to consider the possibility that these are NOT counterfeit, but possibly seconds, overruns, or some other scenario. I've played these for 2 years now. No visible difference between these and so called not counterfeits, that I have paid full price for.
Used them for years all good same same as original.
for me in my country its 30% of price and I can choose exactly the options I want get delivered in 2 weeks to my door.
I never would have thought that 😮
I've used Champkey off Amazon. $40 with grips, tape strips, solvent and a vice insert. They work just fine. I replace my grips at least twice a season so no issues with wearing out usually.
Great video, thanks Gary 👍
Cheers Ant 👌🏼
Knowing the quality of the fake product, I would be happier if they weren't ripping off established companies and just had their own branding. I wouldn't care what the branding was, just as long as they stood up to the job.
The issue with that is, they will then have to conform to ALOT of policies across countries and domestically, as they are fake they don’t have to bother so they’re costs and prices would go up and would end up similar to Golf pride and no one would buy them so they make so much more from counterfeiting golf pride ones, this goes for every type of counterfeits u can think of, there’s too much money in fakes to make being legit worth it
Can I have a shortbread Gaz? Making me hungry having them on the desk 😂. Class follow up on the fake grips
I bought the same grips from temu and a so called good set on eBay, the temu set is far superior
Nice lads well done....I personally wouldn't buy em due to the fact you'll get some proper crap ones due to QC ...but I would say bloody grips are so overpriced it's ridiculous
I got stung on ebay gaz never buy off there again always go to a pga pro 😊well done gaz
This does highlight, again, the disparity in prices - we've all heard that the price of rubber has gone up but over the last few years golf grip prices have risen too much to the point of £42 vs £150+.
I accept R&D costs but the price hikes are excessive which allows the above price differences and people / customers will make decisions and vote with their feet as it were.
Evening both, Gary you have done loads of videos on swing weights. Did these grips alter the swing weights of Dans irons ??? Ps. I never thought you would do this recap. Fair play lads.
Well in all honestly John, back in November when we fitted these grips, I and Dan didn’t know the importance of swing weight and how much a grip could change it. I wound have to have my swing weights re balanced after a grip change moving forwards.
Look lads my grips last a year anyway regardless and I just factor in the price once a year it's not a lot 😂😂👍👍👍
Hi Gaz is there a weight difference in the grips ? Sam has talked about the midsize grips affecting swing weight so if these vary in weight could be another issue
I have had both real and fake and fit my own grips etc the weights are spot on the Chinese know what they are doing believe me.
As the cost of golfing equipment is getting out of hand why wouldn't you save money by buying a copy. There's no guarantee that they are going to be rubbish as they may come out of a factory using similar technology but buying direct from the manufacturer we're just not paying for the name, marketing & the sponsorship of tour players. I'll be buying these when I need to regrip my clubs.
I love my temu grips $42 🇨🇦 13 grips
What grips do u have? Looking to Reggio a set for my daughter who is a beginner.
Could be worth a look for my older clubs that somehow worked there way into the boys bag freshen them up for him
It's a slippery slope - once counterfeit become acceptable then the legitimate equipment could start to deteriorate (quality, tolerances, etc) to meet competition. I wouldn't buy counterfeit products at all. This is the same mentality that is killing retail. People go to brick and mortar to touch, feel, try-on products then go online to save a dollar or two. Maybe we don't like retail pricing but imagine a place where everything you buy has to be purchased sight unseen, tried-on, felt, etc... I'm not looking forward to that personally.
If the counterfeit ones are so close to the real ones for as large a price difference, the consumer currently is the victim and the brands and shops are making (or wasting) way too much. The brick and mortar shops are not going to disappear, as some people want to touch and test before buying, but they'll be less numerous and they'll sell the cheaper alternative for the most part. As long as there is demand for something (goods or services), there will be supply. Don't fear the future, make it your own!
@@francoisdesmoulins-lebeaul4273 I didn't even mention R and D yet but guess we'll just have to disagree and leave it there if you believe in a world where counterfeit items take over for legitimate and then Retail brick and mortar accepts it.
Bottom line is, if genuine golf prides were £50-60 no one would buy "fake" ones, the prices are a joke that the big brands charge for grips, its a cheap rubber tube..................................
The grips are the only thing that are good on Temu so
It’s a no brainer have replaced my grips on Temu every year for a fraction of the price and fitted them my self save over £100 why would you buy grips from rip off retailers
its good content gaz im going to get some only problem will be asking the pro to fit them lol hes going to want to know why im not buying there, its going to have to be the old, my mate can get them cheap card 😂
He won’t be daft lol He’ll know they’re China specials. Most pros won’t fit them, I’d double check before buying if you need someone to do them. Good luck
Seriously, I don’t think you can setup a grip factory for counterfeit grips; too much tooling involved. I suspect they come out of the back door of the same real company. More like factory seconds or failed quality assurance products.
… and no, I don’t have fake grips… 😂
me personally i would never touch them i don't have a lot of money but i would rather save up mostly because of the weight of the fake grips and it will mess up swing weight etc
I agree. It goes through me spending what it does to re-grip, however, my golf clubs are my one pleasure in life, so I only use the best.
I have these grips , don't care what name they put on them, they are great grips at the price. big name grips are a rip off even at half the price £70, i would still buy the temu at the £38 that i paid, even knowing that they are not golf pride grips before i bought them.
I love my temu grips.
If I could find them on Temu today 14 June 2024 I would buy them, but apparently they've been removed
Let me have a look
Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! £4.25 | Plus 4 Golf Irons Grip Midsize and Standard Grey Color Golf Club Grips Carbon Yarn

@@garymartingolfah, I was looking at the Temu link you previously posted because you guys made great points about the quality of those.
Wont use fake grips but use old lake balls in matches against Robo
Superstroke grips suck anyway, so the fakes are probably not going to feel great either way ;-)
I couldn't find any mcc plus 4 on temu
You’re not wrong! It looks like they’ve all been removed and replaced with golf leap. Interesting. Wonder if it’s the same on AliExpress.
Ive seen these grips start to mishape after a couple of yrs , ive got ebay ones ( sold as original before temu , the last one is on a rarely used lob wedge and has now flattened off and it feels like the shaft has been run over . I will be removing it
Great feedback 👍🏼
What sensors is Temu Dan using?
Shot scope, something he’s not got off Temu😂
😂@@garymartingolf
Why some would sooner pay let’s face it rip off prices when the fake ones are far far better value. I used to buy fake of eBay over two years ago and they were from china probably Temu . I play three times a week and they are every bit as good as the real ones .iy you want to pay say £120 pounds minimum for ten grips when you can pay anywhere from £22 to £40 then that your choice .In my opinion golf pride etc are ripping golfers off.
You’re not the only one with this opinion, seems like a lot of people buy their grips knowing they’re a counterfeit to save money.
I paid 2 quid for my copy golf pride grips. They have performed.faultlessly . I would never buy a genuine.golf pride grips again as I feel.i.have been ripped off by paying so much more.. Guys it's just a grip ..
So... If they didn't have the golf pride logo on... Then everything is sound
Get yourself bog standard lamkins or golf pride there not expensive 👍
To be honest the main brands just rip you off so why not they do the job, enough said
I don’t like fake grips, and what about resellers, gripping clubs and selling them with new grips, or just selling the grips on UK resale sites. If the grips are that good, why not brand them with a similar name, as Aldi and LIDL do
I’m entirely with you on this, this is my view wrapped up. I have no issue with someone in China making a replica version, however, why don’t they just use their own branding! I think they’d sell just as many, people are buying them knowing they’re fake anyway.
I’ve nothing against non OEM grips but having “golf pride” on them makes them illegal. Breach of copyrights. How would Gary feel If a non PGA golfer started giving golf lessons , how would he feel
I’ve also nothing against OEM grips, but I don’t agree with them using golf pride either.
maybe you should make that clearer in your reviews. Ive bought some non branded grips last year and they were fine and renewed them again this year , all for less than £100. None were branded though@@garymartingolf
Does this prove golfers are being ripped off????
I would not buy imposter grips, as I don't like someone capitalizing off of someone else's IP/brand/name. If they put there own brand name on it, at least, I world consider them. Also, I would be concerned about quality control, as these could be defects that the manufacturers discarded.
Just proves that ( like many other big brands ) big name stuff is grossly overpriced and ripping people off.
I wouldn't use chinese counterfeits.
Just shows how much the real one are a rip off.I buy fake grips all the time and are spot on
You can be ripped off with genuine goods just as much as fake .
Fake all day long probably the same factory where the original 1 gets made 😂
I’m sorry but Dan is just not for RUclips…. So bland
I'm not for the golf course either, but I'll still be there every week 😂
@@danielwarren2355 You’re certainly right there…. Stick to eating and the pub
Gary’s stuff used to be good but you bring it down
Not sure Dan is launching a you tube career just helping Gary out with some everyday golfer insights.
I would say that you are buying over run manufacturing products such as 2nd or Q & C failed product, there is a market for these products, people say they would use fake grips but will buy reused golf balls from Walmart and think it’s a good deal so what is the difference? 🇨🇦🏌️♂️👍
