This album is turning out to be something quite special. So glad to be hearing all these new tracks. Certainly influenced by Cemetry Gates, but I’m not complaining.
I saw him in Brooklyn last November and they played this song, set to a slide show projection of him with David Bowie, Tom petty, and a few other artists, and in that moment my heart broke for him. Such a beautiful man.
That’s because in the recorded version, his voice is On Top of the music, and he sounds Disconnected From The Music. This version, his voice is INSIDE the music. Definitely more connected.
It's like Morrissey has had a late boost in life and has turned back the clock. Thank you for working so hard at this time in your life through thick and thin Moz, it is very much appreciated.
Hurry and get that album out Moz because I'd like to hear it and I don't want to stick around on this earth with the humans for much longer. I'd like to go back to my home planet where I belong.
That’s exactly right. The guitar solo at the end is particularly Sundays-like. The whole song is fantastic. Great chord changes, base line, vocals and lyrics.
He isn't being sarcastic. He really misses his generation x friends. Sometimes it's hard to get the meaning of his songs, but the honestly misses them.
Gen X started in 65. Mozza born 58. And I believe that this is one of Moz’ literary devices - a double entendre on both words, literally& as band names. And of course he loves them. Listen to his concert Subway Train intro to EILS. In your fay-ay-ay-ay-ayayace! In my own way I will always be true to Moz. 😊
His best song in years. Huge Smiths and early Moz fan but havent really been into/listened to much of his stuff post-Ringleaders. Tried listening to Dog On A Chain last week - truly awful. This, however, is excellent!
I wonder how many times he sings and laments the lack of a Marr riff that would have nailed any of these tunes sending them into the stratosphere, but sadly no mo marr. Marr's the pity? (Moz would appreciate that line..)
i'm sorry, but i don't understand why morrissey is still dependent on labels. nowadays, you can release an lp online if you want to. morrissey's financial possibilities should also allow releases as lp or cd. independence is essential for an artist who has something to say. i have all of morrrissey's cd's, but i would also be ok with an online release. if that would guarantee freedom of expression.
It's tragic how Capitol really f**ked Moz on his Bonfire of Teenagers album - this was the lead single, no promotion, just imagine if they had done a proper video and promo push, TV appearances, etc. - this is easily Moz's most catchy song in years - sounds like classic Smiths/Morrissey - now that Moz has bought back the rights to the album, let's hope he releases it on another label soon!
Capitol Records (Los Angeles) will release Morrissey’s ‘Bonfire of Teenagers’ in February 2023. The album will be released worldwide except for the United Kingdom, where there is no label deal. ‘Bonfire of Teenagers’ is produced by Grammy-producer Andrew Watt, and was recorded in Los Angeles.
This dude gets pissed when Johnny Marr talks about The Smiths but he copies a Johnny Marr riff “Cemetery Gates”. Without Johnny Marr there is no Smiths! Arrogant as always walks off the stage in 49 degree weather! So glad Johnny Marr went his separate ways and followed his passion. Best thing he has ever done!
Fwiw, Johnny said he was gonna throw away Cemetry Gates riff till Morrissey said it should be a song. see interview in Mozipedia. But yea I wish him well 🏌🏾
His voice sounds the best it has in years, and this definitely has future single potential.
Oh shut it, his voice has never ever not sounded better than everybody else’s, what are you talking about
@@TheIdontcare444 eh, wtf are YOU talking about? I wasn’t comparing his voice to anybody else’s but his own.
It's a single!!!
@@coleton.x I know it is now, but I posted my comment 4 months ago 😂
@@TheIdontcare444 i think you need to reread, he said his voice is sounding good still? what was shoved up your arse before you wrote this? lmao
Morrissey and the Smiths kept me alive back in the 80s and 90s.
This album is turning out to be something quite special. So glad to be hearing all these new tracks. Certainly influenced by Cemetry Gates, but I’m not complaining.
i hope, the last albums were really bad i think . the song veronica i like very much
I think the cemetry gates thing is intentional, as all these artists now rest there. It's like a sequel
Lol ... What???
...A dreaded sunny day
I was going to say the same, sounds great 👍
I'll meet ypu at the cemetery gates.
Wow, incredibly catchy, I love it. You can hear Cemetry Gates in there certainly. Wonderful.
This is the best song to me since life is a pigsty and I’ll never be anyones hero now. So good!
Shades of Cemetery Gates in this one and I love it (love them all) , obviously. Great to see the greatest back.
I saw him in Brooklyn last November and they played this song, set to a slide show projection of him with David Bowie, Tom petty, and a few other artists, and in that moment my heart broke for him. Such a beautiful man.
❤🎉❤
I enjoy jangly Morrissey the most
So much better than the recorded version
That’s because in the recorded version, his voice is On Top of the music, and he sounds Disconnected From The Music. This version, his voice is INSIDE the music. Definitely more connected.
Recorded song sounds too compressed and flat 😢
It's like Morrissey has had a late boost in life and has turned back the clock.
Thank you for working so hard at this time in your life through thick and thin Moz, it is very much appreciated.
When has it not been like this though?
Maybe he was right about his diet after all. It hasn’aged him, that’s for sure.
❤🎉❤
Hurry and get that album out Moz because I'd like to hear it and I don't want to stick around on this earth with the humans for much longer. I'd like to go back to my home planet where I belong.
LOVE this song -----one his best
Is it just me?
This has cemetery gates with ammunition from maladjusted a mixture of two
yeah, super similar to Cemetry Gates especially
I thought this sounded a lot like Cemetery Gates too
Great shout with Ammunition, I heard that too
YES! There is an Ammunition quote 100% "Veering cliftwards".
@@adamminer5747 I can hear that too!
Best Morrissey song since Irish Blood, English Heart. I seriously thought he’d never write another great song. Well done!!!
Got tickets to see Morrissey in Blackpool in September, can't wait.
Birmingham for me roll on Autumn
@J.DLawson sounds like fun....You must be sooo cool and edgy, coming out with such reactionary comments 🤔🤪
@J.DLawson yes hopefully 🙏 🤡🤡🤡
See you there buddy 🥳
Same here for County Kerry in September 😍
Lyrics, grooves, vocal hooks - A fantastic song in every way.
Great single! Very nostalgic.
I love the song & love Morrissey... Can't wait for the album!
On repeat 🔁
Cemetery Gates/This Charming Man/ current Morrissey; I love them all
A cross between Cemetery Gates and Summertime by The Sundays.
That’s exactly right. The guitar solo at the end is particularly Sundays-like. The whole song is fantastic. Great chord changes, base line, vocals and lyrics.
His voice is ageing like a fine wine ❤
Generation X & X-Ray Spex... We love them all ❤️
Sounds amazing! Definitely got some nice Smith's influence. Just wonderful!
He isn't being sarcastic. He really misses his generation x friends. Sometimes it's hard to get the meaning of his songs, but the honestly misses them.
Is it not reference to Generation X and X Ray Spex … both bands of the early 80s?
He's most definitely a Baby Boomer
Gen X and X Ray Spex are punk bands from the 70’s. People that are Gen X are only in their 40’s and 50’s. Morrissey is 63 years old.
They were both uk punk bands from the later 70's 😂😂😆😉 not the 80's, keep safe and well my friend.
Estuve ahí...sigue siendo un genio de la música!¡ i increíble su voz..!! Me encanto.
This song is so good. It’s a masterpiece and Morrissey is on top form vocally.
Fresh and Refreshing, Encore ''' Encore''''''
I LOVE IT! He’s been my favorite singer/artist since 1988!
💗 Love Morrissey, a great poet 💗
Much better then the over the top "Loud music" behind him in recent years
props to the sound engine at this show
love this one
Grande musica, per Morrissey in ottima forma...and I 💗 this Poet...
Well, if everybody else inspired by The Smiths why Morrissey can't. Great song and unbelievable voice
All 5 new songs were good.
Eagerly awaiting his new work
Cemetery gates riff.
Ainda um excelente artista, com uma bela banda acompanhando.
A lovely sunny day....
A dreaded sunny day, I meet you at the cemetry gates
Super awesome play on words! I've got James Dean's bicycle!
Great guy, TOP
His best song in years. Huge Smiths and early Moz fan but havent really been into/listened to much of his stuff post-Ringleaders. Tried listening to Dog On A Chain last week - truly awful. This, however, is excellent!
Una leyenda Morrissey
Looking for the person that record the fight that broke out on the first night. 3 more shows to go...I'll be there!
O melhor de todos 😍
I wonder how many times he sings and laments the lack of a Marr riff that would have nailed any of these tunes sending them into the stratosphere, but sadly no mo marr. Marr's the pity? (Moz would appreciate that line..)
That’s not just a line, that’s a song title. 😅he prefers to hide his Marr comments though. Billy Budd is supposedly about Johnny.
Should be No1...but the gatekeepers would never allow it.
He gave the grâce to the pop music
🖤🖤🖤
Who wrote this one? Sounds like a Whyte.
It really does.
Boz
no more to give, too late to live
Sounds pretty Smiths-y, Stephen Street-ish, or even Robert Buck-like. I love it.
Wilde is on mine.
A dreaded sunny day, so we'll go away happily meeting with the rebels at the cemetry gates.

/Johnny Marr enters the chat.
It reminds me at Cemetery Gates
When does this album come out? Lately his newer albums only have a few songs I genuinely like.
He gave and still give the grâce to the pop music ?
Very smiths!!
cemetery gates 2
riffs started like Cemetry Gates a bit
Cemetery gates revisited
Wtf is he thinking ripping off smiths songs?
Someone ripped Marr’s sound is it Wotman? What a shame
The intro sounded a bit like hootie and the blowfish vibe to it
Who? or should I say Hoo?👀
punctured bicycle..

Without Morrissey, there is no Smiths either, just like John and Paul, together they make perfection.
As much as he's a great lyricist. The song sounds just like dozens of others he's done. I want to stop him as I've heard this one before.
