Dark and Darker - The Battle Royal No One Wanted?

Some players would argue that Dark and Darker has become the latest addition to the Battle Royal Genre. In many ways, it does really just feel like a melee focussed version of Call of Duty Warzone...and this has players feeling unenchanted with the game.
Can IronMace fix these issues in Hotfix 18 and EA Patch 2 to save their player base?
