I've said it once and I'll say it as many times as it takes. Kingkiller Chronicles doesn't need a live action adaptation, it needs to be animated and this is just prove! Excellent work!

It’s definitely worth the read but I will warn you that it’s been 8 years since the second book came out and the third one still hasn’t been released so learn to be patient. Buts seriously. All of my favorite quotes are from this series
Wow. Love how the camera angle, sound, music etc lends gravitas to the scene. In the books we know why 'The Breaking of the Lute' is a big deal through context and theme, but here, out of context and without 1k pages to back us up, the lute hitting the cobble stones still feels like heartbreak. “my lute, my tangible soul”. Indeed.
Just today I finished reading The Name of the Wind. This animated scene of Kvothe pronouncing the name of the wind for the first time has been spectacular. Great job
@@abluetale1016 at this point in the books, it is said that kvothe's case is an old, badly put together one, just like his lute. kvothe has to fill it up with cloth and shit to keep his instrument from being damaged all the time, and only one of the locks was intact, another had been changed, and at some moint he enven used string to keep it shut
I just listened to the first audiobook a few weeks ago and am almost finished with the second, and for some reason, I envisioned his lute case as a coffin shape anyway, but I'm not sure why... Bent lamination in woodworking wouldn't be impossible in the setting Rothfuss created, but it would be impractical for something like an instrument case, especially in a world where people will carry lots of boxish containers on long trips. Shapes with edges can be controlled more easily, tied down more firmly, and are less prone to slipping out of lashings.

I could only read the first one. It was a really good idea, but was I the only one that absolutely hated Denna? Like, she just appeared randomly and didn’t even act like a real person. Not to mention at the end of the book I was just done with it. It never made any advances towards the main plot and even at the ONE point that it could advance, DENNA JUST APPEARS FOR NO REASON. Why her!? The coincidence is just too fake. The beginning of the book (aside from the weird fetish the author has of getting Kvothe beat up) was good, compelling, and the magic is the best of any I’ve read, but it’s just bad from when Denna comes in. I failed to read the second because reviews, that I agree with, marked it as awful. Anyways, this animation was well made so good job man.

@@petershuker163 I have to agree, I've listened to both versions. This is not bad narration, but Degas is on a whole different level. There is almost no comparison.
This is really well done, thank you. My only critique is that there are parts when the voices become so quite that they are difficult to hear over the sounds effects. Other than that - 100%!
I think that's intentional. The only times I noticed it was Sim's voice fading out near the beginning, which probably happens because Kvothe focuses on the fountain, and Kvothe actually calling the wind, which would make sense to keep illegible and mysterious.
Yes exactly, if one mutters the Name of something you can't understand whats their saying in best case you can only hear the name of element (i.e. fire)

It's a lute you uncultured swine
I _just_ found this book and am like halfway through the first book, and found this channel today through YT recommended (not even this vid, the one about Odd) and happened to be curious what else this guy has, and here this is!!
Life is so weird but can be great sometimes
I think you might have to do more of these bro...
This video actually introduced me to this book series. I love it SO much
Very nice. If you enjoyed this book series, I recommend checking out Emperor's Blades. It is one of the best written stories I've ever read, including this one.
Emperor's blades is awesome :)
This is crazy. I finished name of the wind a month ago, and have only just started watching your vids, but here I am watching an animation about one of my favorite books ever...
Loved the fact that you used Nick Podhel's audiobook recording for this. His voice is perfect for Kingkiller!
If you ever want someone to voice act for you (nothing as professional because I'm just aspiring) just hit me up. I'll gladly join you on this travel!
This is so awesome. Almost a million views! I really wish Powerhouse Animation (Castlevania) would adapt this series some day.
Doors of Stone is about to drop. Don't let us down, Pat.
Exactly as I imagined it.
That was an incredible animation! Perfect work cutting the audiobook to fit, I appreciate you keeping that in
This… is exactly how I imagine it
First I find your videos on how to improve our artistic skills in the best way possible and then I saw THIS. Dude I just can’t ♥️♥️♥️
Nick Podehl is one of my favorite narrators on all of Audible. He breathes life into the book and makes everything feel so much more real. I love the animation you've done on this so far and would love to see more small snippets like this. You said it's for practice and teaching, so where can I find the related lessons for this animation?
The Rupert Degas narration is far superior.
@@petershuker163 I agree wholeheartedly!!
@@petershuker163 I have to agree, I've listened to both versions. This is not bad narration, but Degas is on a whole different level. There is almost no comparison.
Podehl is great and is on fire with a ton of other books he has narrated but Rupert Degas takes this one. Sorry bud.
My favorite scene from my favorite book by my favorite artist
This is really well done, thank you.
My only critique is that there are parts when the voices become so quite that they are difficult to hear over the sounds effects. Other than that - 100%!
I think that's intentional. The only times I noticed it was Sim's voice fading out near the beginning, which probably happens because Kvothe focuses on the fountain, and Kvothe actually calling the wind, which would make sense to keep illegible and mysterious.
Yes exactly, if one mutters the Name of something you can't understand whats their saying in best case you can only hear the name of element (i.e. fire)
The gravity in every movement is astounding
PLEASE MAKE THIS REAL ETHAN!!!!!! PLEEEEEEEEEAAASSEEEE!!!!
Omg is that I think it is. I love this series with the bottom of my heart. Thank you
