Todd live was quite the trip. He wore a pyramid as a hat. Maybe that was an inspiration for Mike's tin colander. Anyway, I always admired Todd Rundgrens songs and he was fun to see the couple times I could. Mike singing on this is calling up the pop jukebox magic they both made incandescent.

Saw him in concert at my college, sat amazed at his talent and showmanship. He left us to quickly. There is no telling only guessing what he would have given us through the ensuing years, but for certain it would have been on a higher plain than what anyone else could have given us.

Got my start in music more than 50 years ago at our college station. In some ways I place MH up there with Dylan and Coltrane as among the greatest musicians of the last hundred years. We are just so fortunate that Randy captured so much of our hero, our god, when he was young, when he was in his prime. And that Randy did such a good job recording, an almost unbelievable job of saving, and now he shares. In a world currently in frightful turmoil, here dwells sweet beauty.

Wow....I have never seen this...what a great talent, what a great memory...I haven't heard michael hedges since he was a rising star back in the 1980s on Windham Hill...I have a couple of his albums, I will have to get them out and listen to them now.

Unbelievable I didn't know that Michael hedges played keyboards he probably played everything vibes what a great producer he must have been I would have loved to have him produce for my label! Thank God he produced for humanity for some time God bless you my brother Michael hedges namaste!I wish she had worked with the Doobie Brothers! Tom Johnson and the boys! All around Santa Cruz baby! Same time I'm sure doobies know about Michael! Good night 20 21!

Not sure about Michael and the Doobies, but Tom Johnston asked me to arrange for a jam between the Doobies and The Allman Brothers the first night either band was in Amsterdam (using my band's equipment because theirs hadn't passed customs) at the Melkweg, which happened (1974). The night before we jammed with them. Skunk Baxter was with them. I loaned him my guitar. Halcyon days.

@Randy Lutge - please consider re-titling your videos so Michael Hedge's name is displayed for search purposes. Your RUclips channel is a hidden Treasure Trove of intimate performances - the version you posted of "I'm Comin' Home" predates the release of his "Watching My Life Go By" album which featured that song . This cover of the Todd Rundgren classic is a fantastic performance - especially considering Michael was much more known as a genius guitar player than a keyboard performer.

I introduced Michael to Will Ackerman and was fortunate to be documenting him well before Breakfast In The Field. Had he lived, I am convinced that his singer/songwriter abilities would have become well known. We became close friends over the years, I was so lucky to have him fall into my universe. We were in Tahoe with our wives when he woke me one morning to share his newly scribed, "Rickover's Dream." Halcyon days. A friend is now researching and will complete an extensive biography. Thanks for the props and the search engine suggestion. It is done...
