My thoughts exactly. I'm selling myv2001 MIM Fender deluxe jazz V that I never play and get one. Will be a great combo with my Ibanez SR prestige and Markbass rig.
Went with the Alder and Ebony, prefer the warmer sound, just got it in this week. I got the 5 string, very smooth and easy to move around on. Very pleased with the quality.
I am digging the sound of Alder - Maple combination which is balanced sound not too bright not too warm to me. Probably gona go for that Thanks for the video. The only professionally done review I could find.
I'm a sucker for black on black Jazz with maple board. Throw in the black block markers and forget it, ya got me! But I have to say, that natural ash with maple board really tonally popped out at me. Pretty easy on the eyes too. My picks: 1 - Natural ash body, maple board. 2 - Black alder, maple board. But honestly, you can't lose with any of them. Best deal going.
Very good Job! Thank you! I prefer the Vintage-Asch-Body. The Bridge PU ist closer to the Bridge; the Sound ist more bright and percussive. All are great Bass!
Wait a minute, so which series has the bridge pickup closer to the bridge, the vintage series or the other one? This entire time I thought the vintage series had the bridge pickup more further away from the bridge.
So basically Alder/Ebony for a 60s JB or Ash/Maple for a 70s JB (I think most people like the snappy feel of the 70s bridge position and the smoothness of the 60s)
I'm really surprised how much difference in sound the body and fingerboard materials make. Alder sounds growlier to me, and maple fingerboard bites more.
I’v Alder Ebony 1rst gen V7 and is wonderful mellow sound, but here seems Ash Maple combinaton defines Little bit better Trebles -Rasp Sound ; better take both 😏
Ebony sounds just a tad bit better on the modern, really awesome basses not just for the price but overall. They really hold their own not just another budget brand.
You can really hear the sunburst alder+ebony bass has newer strings. Over time this bass will sound slighty rounder and less bright than the ash/ maple bass.
Best Demo ever went with the Alder/Ebony not as much pop but much better warmer tones and sounds. Just bought my Shire MMV7 A/E last night can't wait till it comes in. Switching out from Guitar to Bass.

If only all bass demos were like this one! Great job
Thanks a lot, we will keep on trying!
No, not without including pick style.
Awesome !!!
I'm IT guy so give you a table.

I really don’t understand the 7 people who disliked this demonstration. Haters? No talking, well performed bass lines, useful videos. Great!
It’s called hateN
NO TALKING.....you are the man....very very good !!!!!!!!...btw- i like alder-ebony version...
Thanks Paul!
I got two of those, 1st and 2nd G

Yup
Totally agree

It is slither brighter than maple/ebony but, m/e is more round

This was exactly the video I was looking for ! Thanks ! 🙏🏼
Sound is so so close. Love the look of the Alder/Ebony. But really, they all sound fantastic and look fantastic.
these videos are a godsend thank you so much
I wouldn't go that far ;) but thank you very much!
what a great video! Thank you so much. I liked the vintage ash maple the best.
I am digging the sound of Alder - Maple combination which is balanced sound not too bright not too warm to me. Probably gona go for that Thanks for the video. The only professionally done review I could find.
You can tell he enjoyed the all black Vintage the most :D
I much prefered the vintage too for both pickups! I liked both for bridge only :)
Vintage Ash&Maple is my favorite.thanks for your good job
Fantastic demo. That's the way to do it!
I like the ash natural with maple neck.
I'm a sucker for black on black Jazz with maple board. Throw in the black block markers and forget it, ya got me! But I have to say, that natural ash with maple board really tonally popped out at me. Agree. I wanted to like the black one but it's tone was not as good as the natural ash one finger style.
Awesome test. Sire rules!
Vintage MM V7 Ash Body - Maple Fingerboard, OMG 🤤
Great Demo. Different styles and sounds.
Very good Job! Thank you! I prefer the Vintage-Asch-Body. The Bridge PU ist closer to the Bridge; the Sound ist more bright and percussive. All are great Bass!
how refreshing to hear only the demo'ing of the equipment instead of hearing 5 min of endless fucking rant and 30 seconds of demo...GREAT JOB
Parece estar diferente a última regulagem dos potenciômetros, o do ultimo baixo... mas são maravilhosos os timbres, me ajudaram na escolha.
Great comparison. I personally like the Alder/Ebony the best (that's the one I own), but they all sound fantastic. Great playing.
Fantastic demo. V7 vintage natural ash sounds the best, followed by elder /ebony combo.
Awesome grooves!
EXCELLENT , BUT THE SIRE VINTGE MM V7 ASH BODY, THE POSITION MIDDLE BOOST/ CUT IS DOWN AND THE ANOTHER BASSES IS UP, BECAUSE?
No worries, we only checked the passive mode anyway, so the position of the switches didn't effect the sound you hear at all!
I’d be curious as to the weight of each.
Very nice comparison. Thank you ;-)
Sire is on fire 🔥
Wait a minute, so which series has the bridge pickup closer to the bridge, the vintage series or the other one? This entire time I thought the vintage series had the bridge pickup more further away from the bridge.
Vintage series has the 70s style bridge pickup spacing.
^ ie closer to the bridge
Yes, the term "Vintage" also confused me for some time, because vintage means older, but... NO, that doesn't apply to Sire basses! :)
@@virgilpopescu9478I think “vintage “ refers to the fretboard radius. Vintage basses usually have smaller radius.
Good job and good sound/bass lines.
I got two Alder/ebony 1rst and 2nd G. You Don´t need to buy expensive fender vintages basses anymore. I sold them all
Alder - Ebony The best!!
All of them sound great but I like vintage ash & maple.
From what song is the first bassline taken from?
VINTAGE ASH + MAPLE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
ALDER-EBONY VERSION FOR ME...NICE DEMO...
I just got mines from the Guitar Center. It is nice.
Wjats the first baseline? So groovey
First of.
You're the best demo channel on RUclips.
My question: what to you think about the overall built quality especially the neck?
Is it just me, or is the Alder/Ebony variant much more raspy than the Ash/Maple variant?
So basically Alder/Ebony for a 60s JB or Ash/Maple for a 70s JB (I think most people like the snappy feel of the 70s bridge position and the smoothness of the 60s)
The two with ash body / maple fingerboard are clear winners for me.
Dum der dum dum der dum der doom doom doom..love it.
Outstanding basses for the price.
Any chances to see a shoot out like this with the M series?
Thanks, very nice.
I'm really surprised how much difference in sound the body and fingerboard materials make. Alder sounds growlier to me, and maple fingerboard bites more.
Awesome video! You've really helped me make an informed buying decision
Cool, please spread the word! :-)
@@bassbonedo2158 Will do! I've just ordered the ash/maple V7 2nd gen :D
@@dkhemmen cool, have fun! :-D

Sire MM V7 alder body ebony fingerboard my favorite
All the Sire basses has good tone.
cool
Are all 4 Basses 2nd Generation? The Black and Maple one sounds the best, but they ALL sound really good. Thanks for posting. 👊🏾
Yeah, I feel the same! The "Black" is alder body/maple neck V7 Vintage .
Awesome! Can’t wait for the ebony version
Smooth!
I love the look of alder and ebony but I much prefer the first bass with ash and maple... sad me haha
I hear a bigger difference with the Ash or Alder body than the neck and fingerboards .
You can really hear the sunburst alder+ebony bass has newer strings. Over time this bass will sound slighty rounder and less bright than the ash/ maple bass.
Great vid. Do you know which brand of strings were used, and were they the same on each bass?
They're probably all stock factory strings. DaDarrio nickels 45 to 205.

For me V7 vintage ash, it's more focus in live gig's
Great demo, for me the MM V7 with the alder body and ebony fingerboard is the one that calls me the most... :)
resonance of vintage models are better to my ear. overall i like ash/maple mm v7 the most.
Funky
Vintage Ash all the way. In all of them. It just sounds cleaner and punchier! The bright (swamp?) ash one

👏👏👏…🔥🔥🔥…❤️❤️❤️
Ash/maple for V7, alder/maple for Vintage V7
My ears hear that, too, man! Happy to find someone feels the same as I do!
Alder Body is warmer Mabel fingerboard more clear. HMM!!!
Same pickups, same preamp, different wood... same sound. Buy the one that looks best to you :)
I really like your scarf and hat, makes you look sooo cool and not at all like a bellend....
