    What's most stunning to me is how creative people get. The Megapixel stiching attempt. The astrophotography blog posts. As a thermal imaging enthusiast those resources teach you something about the potential of low resolution (80x60 for example) and bad lenses.

    I have some very fond memories of the Gameboy Camera, it was one of my first "point and shooters" so it was really fun to wander around as a kid and take pictures of anything really. The software though was really something else though, such a weird, bizarre interface that still kinda haunts me to this day haha. Thanks for the amazing video as usual Gordon :)

    Small tip for gameboy color: Before turning on the console, hold left on the Dpad and the B button then the on switch. This will put the gameboy color's screen into black and white mode instead of those odd blue/green tones. This way you can better idea of how your files will actually look because theyre monochrome when exported.

    I got one earlier this year to use with my Analog Pocket. It's a lot of fun! Makes me wish I had one as a kid when they originally released.

    • @DinoBytes
      @DinoBytes  2 года назад

      I'd love to use it on an Analogue Pocket, that screen would transform it, plus the upcoming firmware update. I think we'll be seeing a lot more GB Camera photos when that happens!

    Possibly worth mentioning that the software interface/navigation was inspired by old-school RPGs, thus the "Shoot, Items, Magic, Check, and Run" options.

      Thanks Jordan! I'm worried the GameBoy Camera has been a bit over-done, so it may not be the most popular video in this series, but it still needed to be done! Plus I got the chance to try out that Wifi printer dongle too, which in turn allowed me to supply you with some pics for your video!

    It's almost like Nintendo has always a knack for satisfying the broad end of the market with a good enough accessible option. Switch 👀

    I want to get one of these at some point because it seems really fun to play around with :) Will you ever cover the Nintendo DSi camera? That one was my first digital camera. I loved the DSi so much mostly because of the camera.

      Yeah, I was also reminded of the ZX Printer which, amazingly, I never owned. Nor a MicroDrive. And I call myself a Spectrum fan! I always loved how many referred to the ZX Printer as the 'Astronaut's bog roll'.

    I think your gameboy printer cartridges are expired or something, because when I had mine they looked pretty faithful to what appeared on screen. Your prints look like mind would after several months. (they did fade fairly quickly)

    • @DinoBytes
      @DinoBytes  2 года назад

      Don't worry, mine wasn't even proper GB printer paper, it was till paper. I mentioned this in the video. Unfortunately the original paper has mostly expired now and is in terrible condition.

    I have a bunch of Game Boy Cameras, also a modified one which uses Canon Lenses. It's really fun to work with this Camera, even if it's not easy sometime.
