Goodwill Guitar Custom Artwork - Keep or Restore?

I bought this at a Goodwill Auction for next to nothing. It's an Ibanez M50MJP-NT, definitely nothing fancy, but it's got a custom artwork on the top. At the right angle it looks kind of nice, but it's not my thing. Still, the previous owner took pride in this and I kind of want to as well.
Vote Thumbs Up: I'll strip it to the original finish.
Vote Thumbs Down: I'll keep the paint and even clearcoat it.
