    We're so lucky that cats like Barney Kessel and Joe Pass made these kind of videos for us mere mortals. They really help unlock that wonderful style of Jazz guitar and make it feel attainable.

    Everybody I know loved and admired Barney, without any unkind word spoken .i spent many an afternoon looking at beautiful guitars up on the hill in his shop in Hollywood

    Very helpful. Joe Pass was fantastic at incorporating thirds and octaves into his solos.

    Tip for anyone trying to play the Fm11/C (sub. for Bb7) @ 12:26, try fingering the C and F with the middle (doublestop), semi-barre with the index across four strings from the G# to the high F, then the D# with the ring and G with the pinky.

      I'm transcribing on GuitarPro 7 all examples played by Mr. Kessel in this Chord-Melody lessons. I already did Lesson 1 and 2. I can send the GP and PDF files it by e-mail if you want to.
