The 1995 Redskins were much better than their record indicated. Lost some tough games that could have gone either way: 2 close games with the Eagles (14-7, 37-34) The Elway hailmary in Denver to Rod Smith Arizona scored a winning TD with 1:16 left Even with that, they had their moments- swept Dallas, beat playoff-bound Detroit, kept Carolina from being the only expansion team ever to not finish with a losing record.
i still don't understand how brian mitchell was so successful carrying the ball, it wasn't speed it wasn't power it wasn't agility in fact he looked quite awkward with the ball in his hands. perhaps that's why nobody could tackle him
Artie the Swolest Man in the World when i was a kid, he used to train with one of friends pops who was a player for the packers. I saw Brian Mitchell run sprints when I was hanging out. Brian Mitchell had the scariest look on his face while running those sprints. He might have not had the power or speed, but maybe it was sheer determination that made him so good.
The most infuriating season I remember was the 2000 season, where we beat both teams that would eventually play in the Super Bowl, we were 7-4 in week 12, ended up losing a string of close games (almost all divisional) because apparently it never occurred to Norv Turner to go find a decent field goal kicker. We ended up going for it on 4th and whatever inside the 30-yard lines because whoever the fuck was our kicker that year couldn't be counted on. Never liked Norv as a coach anyway, far too cautious, even timid half the time. With even a halfway decent kicker we could have gone 11-5, at least 10-6 and made the playoffs. There was no juggernaut that year, no St Louis or New England we couldn't have beat down the stretch.
There was a lot more to this team: The 1995 Redskins were much better than their record indicated. Lost some tough games that could have gone either way: 2 close games with the Eagles (14-7, 37-34) An Elway hailmary in Denver to Rod Smith Arizona scored a winning TD with 1:16 left An endzone INT against Tampa Even with that, they had their moments- famosly swept Dallas, beat playoff-bound Detroit, kept Carolina from being the only expansion team ever to not finish with a losing record.
Some very tight margins in the NFL that year. With a better QB, a couple of those narrow defeats could have gone the other way. Shuler and Frerotte weren’t great at all. Some great players in that team, though.

Twice as many wins as they had in 94. They won home games after going winless at RFK the previous yea
I love the new Lions uniforms but you can't beat the Lions uniforms from the 90's

He was fearless

Shuler getting hurt was the brightest point of that season
I was so disappointed with the way Michael Westbrook career turned out
You and me, both. I was a huge fan.
Me too lol
Hay I am from Chicago but I tell you tarry Allen was the truth he was a good running back
That year was beginning of a rivary Carolina Panthers and Wash Redskins Christmas Eve. in 1995
beat the cowboys twice that year...that's all that was good
well that's 95% of what matters anyway

19:00 - All you need to know. A perfect 10.
Henry Ellard Mr 3rd down to 1st down lol loved him, we were talented, if we kept Norv, we'd have at least 1 super bowl, maybe 2 or 3
WOW
