    Yes sir. Collin and I have been saying this for a long time. The soft baits just always seem to be the ticket for big and especially finicky pressured bass. They may get used to seeing the same soft bait after awhile but the baits tend to look so realistic that they’ll still get bit even if they’ve seen it before. Good video! 🙌👊

    Good info here. Another big thing that has me convinced that the soft bait has a better chance to trick a trophy bass is that often times hard bait bites are simply reaction strikes. Ofc not always, but I feel like true trophy size fish have very few reactions strike type eats. They’ve probably been caught a few times and have learned to be more hesitant almost tame that instinct to kill on sight no matter what. So this means those loud clanky baits with big trebles immediately deter them from eating. But, if you can get past that initial “that’s not real” with a soft bait, the fishes guard is let down and they can follow and study your bait until they’re convinced it’s real and eat it bc the know it’s real, not out of reaction. This also means your bait gets inhaled because the bass truly believes this is its next meal, not just a “wtf is that” reaction strike. Sorry I know that’s a lot but I’ve been thinking about this a lot now that it’s winter 😂 appreciate the video man!

    A bass can hear 500 times more then a Dog sounds travel much faster underwater . I prefer the soft baits like Hudds and such good info bro . 👌

    Softbait is just more natural. It definitely gets bit when the hard baits won’t, but it definitely tests your patience because you get so many bites on a softbait that you can never land. I have to just remind myself that the fish i want to catch will most likely swallow the whole thing, but you definitely miss out on some of those smaller caliber, but still quality, fish that you’d catch on a glide from them just slapping at the bait

    Hello, i am watching you from Bavaria. You have to think about how many hours do you use Softbaits vs. Hardbaits. When you use 100hr Softbaits and 30hr Hardbait i think it is normal that you catch more and bigger fish on the Softbait. I use mainly Softbaits for Pikefishing.

    Prefer Hard swimbaits over Soft for the fun factor of watching the bait work thru the water column. And the imparting action on glides to trigger big bass.still launch the citizen and battle shad but have better success on hardbaits🤙🏾

    I generally get more bites on hard baits but bigger bites on soft baits. This year I caught my pb on an 8" hudd but it was the only fish I ever caught on that bait compared to a Deps 250 which I've caught dozens on but haven't been able to crack 7lbs with.

    Which big swim bait do you think would be good for fishing deep? I fish Dale Hollow and mostly the deep end where most shorelines drop pretty quick to +100 feet This week, December, I’m seeing bass at 25 to 30 foot chasing alewife and they pin them against the bank that deep. The swim baits always come up as soon as you reel, need to run horizontal for a little bit and maintain that depth.

      The 8” Huddleston ROF 16 works really well at those depths.

      @@andybales7318 belly weighted hooks… I will try that. I have not given the big swimbaits a fair shake, even now, I was just fishing a flutter spoon and Silver Buddy in the deeper water and snagging alewife in massive schools of bait. These things are tiny, maybe 2-3 inches. It seems the bass are keyed in on the small alewife but I’m not getting any good size bass so stands to reason I need to change something to get better quality.

    • @ScalesnTales_Media
      @ScalesnTales_Media  День назад +1

      I think fishing a hard bait in particular a glide, feels more rewarding. You’re making that bait “swim” with inputs, making it to dance to your song. And once you get a bite you feel a rush of feelings and confidence all at once.
      Compared to a soft bait, essentially just bomb it out there, and soak it on a slow retrieve. Obviously you can do other things but it’s pretty copy and paste compared to what you can do with a glide bait. The reward for fishing a hard bait right is insane and putting those pieces of the puzzle together get you excited to keep doing it. Soft bait fishing just is pretty mindless and repetitive, not much you can very from cast to cast. Doesn’t keep you locked into the fishing trip… until you get a bite. And if you miss it you just get pissed off😆
