Doesn't matter if it does, Ive got access to any of the enterprise cars I'm working for, if anything happens to it I'll just replace it with a solid single mass as and when the time comes. If it goes i'm in no rush to replace it, I can have one of the SRi/Sport hatch Astras for nothing if I need a car :-), I'm not totally reliant on it thank god!
Mine will do exactly the same to a Fiesta ST as it does to a Civic VTi. At the moment mines not at its full potential as the DMF is rattling & needs replacing, probably the clutch too, but just wait until mine has a new upgraded DMF & Clutch, it will be leaving them behind. ha ha
I wouldn't say Focuses are superior to Vauxhalls on quality. They use crummy Delphi parts just as much as Vauxhall. They have better handling & better chassis settings but they aren't that superior. I had a load of Fords before my Leon, they were the same as Vauxhalls really. Average working mans family car. People claim them to be this over other makes & that but I never noticed a great difference.
Hmmm, Might just be the Civic VTi's that can't shake you off Type-R's are pretty fast. It really pisses them off when they can't race past my FR because the FR is too quick for them to beat, then to add a real insult they find out (when I'm stopped) that it was a Turbo Diesel all along, now that really double-pisses those arrogant Honda V-tec drivers off big time!
I used to drive a Corsa B for driving lessons years ago, handling & brakes are not a strong point of theirs. The parts supplier for Vauxhall are absolute crap, Its Delphi. I replace brake pads & disks on vauxhalls quite regularly & Delphi's quality of parts are a joke as its an American co. The suspension is also Delphi so it might explain why the handling & brakes are both rather abysmal. Change them for custom parts & you won't get that problem.
