Thank you so much for this great review. This video is so helpful. Thank you for taking the time to shoot it , edit it and sharing it with the rest of us. Question about PiP and PbP, what do we see at 9:43. Isn't it PbP? Can the monitor do that out of the box? Thanks again
That shot at 9:43 was on a SmallHD monitor, not this monitor. The Mega22s is not capable of PiP or PBP. You can use somehting like a decimator to get PBP
@@VinceGuglielmo I have one of the other Osee monitors and yes...I bought a Dmon quad split decimator for it....works great...just an extra expense, But i picked mine up used so saved a little there.
Thanks for the review man. I guess the solution for no Multiview is to get one of the ATEM Minis from Blackmagic and sending a multiview signal out to the Monitor.
Have you come across a scenario when you're looking at the monitor off axis (from the side) and the blacks get washed out? I had a demo of the Mega 22s the other day and when looking at it from not directly front on the blacks where lifted and super milky. Almost unusable to judge the image. Oddly it didn't effect the mids and highlights. Wondering if that was a fault in the model we looked at or if the off axis viewing of this monitor is just bad?
@@_FrontFootFilms_ Most certainly. Budget options like this one inevitably put pressure on high-end options and make them cheaper or more feature-rich in the long run.
This is so close to being such a good monitor especially at the price point. I’m shocked it doesn’t have PIP feature. I wish it included the mounting plates and calibration cable in the box, just add it to the cost or make a bundle for it. I’m curious if it’s a true 10bit panel or a 8+2. I have the 15 and 21” osee monitors. They’re great, I do prefer the 15” I think the gloss panel on the 15 has better viewing angles and better contrast. TBH I’m not seeing much here to make me want to upgrade.
I’m not sure to be honest but I’ve read lots of issues with that M15 mount. Hopefully they improved it but I’ve never used the M15 to know for sure. Regardless, I’ll be changing it to my Matthews vesa mount haha
Thanks for taking time to go over the monitor but your impressions failed to cover some important aspects. How does the monitor compare to other displays that you use. Do the colors match? How does the calibration process work? Monitor latency - not in the spec sheet from Osee. How do the menus actually look? What are the menu options / display options like peaking, edge enhancement. I currently own the 215-HDR+ & the Megamon 15. I am interested in this new model but also looking at the new SWIT 21.5 which has PbP for two cameras at the same time.
My calibration tool is USB C, so I didn't have a chance to get an adapter and try it. I said in the beginning of this video that it wasn't going to be a technical video.
I am currently looking at the same monitors. Been let down with brands like FeelWorld on image quality and colours. Obviously, can't expect these cheaper brands to be as good as SmallHd but curious to know how they compare.
@@TylerEdwardsYes, but unfortunately they are grossly overpriced AND their customer service has been horrid the past 4 years or so… Which is extremely disappointing because I own their products and had higher hopes for them.

Oooo I need one of these
Rented an Osee before and it worked pretty well
Nice! Definitely great to have on set!
I was waiting for this one man. Thanks! But that kiss with not being able to show multiple screens is not good.
Ya lack of PBP is a big letdown for sure
A decimator would be a decent work around possibly?

We’re currently taking this off your hands, delivery inbound. If you’re ever in LA let’s connect
The pricing is pretty good man. I like it
I was pretty impressed with that monitor on set that day! I did not, in fact, correctly guess the price though.
Haha neither did I tbh.

I think a better option would be the decimator: amzn.to/3YhwMS6
I may end up picking one up.

Finally some pressure on SmallHD's Cine 24!
absolutely not

@@JulioBHJ There's no pressure when it doesn't even have the same capabilities as the higher end options.
@@_FrontFootFilms_ Sure there is, even with a severe lack of capabilities. Not as much pressure, for sure, but pressure nonetheless.
Definitely great to have more budget option

With those two monitors, I wouldn’t see a massive reason to upgrade. I’d sure hope it’s 10-bit if they’re marketing it that way 😂
So what production monitor do you think is great in a similar price point/spec ? Thanks!
I wonder if the baby pin mount is same quality as on Megamon 15. Mine broke off after 10-15 shoots, buddy of mine had the same issue.

Sony, Flanders, Atomos all have confusing menu systems and OS. No one has figured this out yet.
SmallHD definitely has the best in my opinion

Does it have anamorphic desqueeze. The Mega I have doesn't have it.
Yes it does
What about picture quality?
And does it have glaring issues?
Great picture quality!
You think this would be good for an on camera monitor? :)
Only for the most legit filmmakers out there
This is only an "on-stand" or "on-table" monitor 😂
The fact they can't make a 4K monitor by 2024 is embarressing.
To be able to tell the difference from 4K you’d have to have your nose 6 inches from the monitor 😂
@@brandonjworley I can tell. I must be magical.
@@_FrontFootFilms_ I guess you actually only need to be 3 feet away to be able to tell with a 21”
8K or bust. 4K is so 2020
