I hope people from Ubisoft watch this, because I swear.. it feels like you REALLY be trying to help them. Ya know, through constructive criticism and such. Although, it might just seem that way because you always keep it real and they have so many ups and downs with their games, like you mentioned.
I never noticed til TBH mentioned how the games are connected that they'll all play similarly. I remember thinking a few years ago, "Why does parkour exist to some degree in most of Ubisoft's games?" With the similarities in gameplay and easter eggs alluding to interconnection between the universes, it really does feel like they're trying to set something huge up. Shame that they most likely will never follow up on that idea as, although Ubisoft has made some top notch games recently, they just don't feel like labors of love anymore.
The thing is though, the Games are infact not connected. I don't know where he got that statment from that Ubisoft said that these Games are in the same Universe. Infact it's the opposite. Ubisoft very clearly said that these Games are not connected and that the connection that we have there are just easter eggs. And if you played WD2 you very early realize that this is infact the case since in WD2 there is an ubisoft studio, which is working on AC Games, there are posters for the AC Movie in the Game and so on. So the connection that we see in the Games are plain and simple just easter eggs, nothing more, nothing less.

Josh McCain if ur referring to watch dogs then yes They admitted that they down grade it because they didn't want console players to be mad But ubi was the one who jumped on the hype train fast as fuck a year before the x1 and ps4 was release and assumed that those consoles was powerful enough to run watchdogs the way they wanted to
I'd rather they say "Yeah we couldn't make the game run good enough with these graphics and we toned them down" rather than just say nothing and hope we don't notice

TBH I like what you said bout them making a cinematic universe between all their games. Imagine having and assassin's creed where like you said a hacker from watch dogs is a descendent of an assassin and instead of having to do those stupid and extremely short missions out of the animus, you can play as the hacker and use their skills to hack into whoever the evil corporation in A.C. is (I don't remember) and also make that aspect of the game an open world like watch dogs
I used to be a big UBI fan for the AC series. I could always tell they have some of the most talented people on their team, from coders to designers to animators, story board artist, even the trailer creators kill it every year. But it always feels like they're being held back, I hope one day they get a new CEO that wants to release whatever chains are holding them down so they can really take off. Because I've been starting to feel that their games are really the same in content as a f2p game.
Ubisoft really isn't that bad, they've made good games and is now trying to repair its rep (even if they're just trying to make money). They've made watchdogs 2, the Farcry series (which is a good series), For Honor (which is a good game other than the connection issues) rainbow six, AC. Etc

Everything you said in this video is right. I think Ubisoft needs to slow their roll and pushing out so many games simultaneously and maybe the quality will drastically improve.
The obvious reason why games are made open-world is NOT to just make them open world, its because it easier to monetize. Some developers actually factor open-world into games correctly unlike ubisoft. Look at Witcher 3!
One thing we all can agree on is that FarCry Blood dragon was the shit, I'd take a sequel to that over FarCry Primal, I mean what are could you say you were riding a dinosaur shooting laser beams out its eyes while sniping people? It was outrageous and over the top and hilarious.
