A half hour long video about ADHD coping sounds fantastic. As a neurotypical, learning about how atypicals cope helps me to be more understanding and accommodating.
So happy your new relationship is going well. I thunk it would be a cool video for you to turn one of the kids' drawings into a real piece. I also think an adhd crafter video would be fascinating. I don't have adhd, but I love learning how other people's brains work so I can help accommodate. And the bobbin lace sounds so cool!
So happy to see you back! Very interested in seeing the comparison between three generations of sewists, and happy to find another ADHD person, no wonder I like you, I must just get it xx
Ok, i love all of the future video ideas; especially the creative adhd, and chemise a la goth. The kids insp as design ideas woukd also be totally fun! (I once made a stuffed version if something my daughter drew for remote learning and it was super fun!) Im also totally fascinated by the poly-amorous situation, but I'll google it and leave you be! Loved learning more about you, and am looking forward to seeing more of your videos. (Making your own lace is very Christine McConnell of you and i am here for it.)❤
Oooh, making a doll from a kids drawing sounds amazing! I did make Emily some modern rag dolls when she was a kid with clothes them (to be clear, I am the 'mothership' she refers to!) which was fun, and my mother/her grandma made a beautiful doll for her when she was little - perhaps she can share a photo of it!
The right diagnosis makes such a difference. Well done, you. That is huge. Yes, please, for the ADHD video. My latest rabbit hole is shaped by lace. At the moment I am (impatiently) waiting for my lace pillow to arrive from the UK. My justification is anything I can cobble together will work better than polyester... In that spirit, the Chemise a la Goth sounds perfect. _Question_ - whereabouts in Canada did you used to do Spoken Word? Me and Mister Husband used to host a literary and music reading series called Dusty Owl, in Ottawa. Just wondering if we've bumped into the same people. Ever encounter the spectacular Steve Sauve or any of the other Ottawa poets in your travels? - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Yes, please, whole video about the ADHD stuff! I was diagnosed with ADHD a couple of years pre-pandemic. I was 43 years old at the time. Then in 2021 I got an autism diagnosis. 😁 Nothing like being in your 40s and finally getting a couple of pieces of info that make your whole life much more understandable.
Okay, I finished watching and I’m back to say yes also to the tiny human drawing inspired projects and the chemise ala goth, please and thank you. And congrats on the new relationship, love that for you!
I just turned 65 and was diagnosed last year - I agree that a whole bunch of things fell into place, and I'm still figuring out how to work with it rather than trying to force myself to work against it. On reflection it clearly got much worse after the menopause, so that is definitely worth investigating as there is increasing research on it...
Great to see you back and to learn a bit about you. Your an inspiration to be an individual and I do try but I can't always stay on focus but I will try. Looking forward to more sewing shinanagans 😊
Speaking as the maker of the zebra print stretch velvet bell bottom trousers (to be fair it was the Spice Girls era), my story about them was that I became famous amongst the other mums at school because they had all heard about the trousers from their daughters!
I'd also recommend to anyone who sews for kids that you ask them what they want, or just make it clear that you're willing to sew for them if they want, and involve them in the process, especially choosing the fabric, patterns, trims etc. but also helping to the level of their competence/interest. I certainly sewed things for small humans (including Emily) that they never or barely wore because I made them what I wanted to make or wanted to see them in, rather than what they wanted! You definitely want them to remember stuff they loved because you made it just for them (not because you hated it and it was uncomfortable to wear, like the 1960's royal blue velvet with white lace inset V-necks that my mother made for me and my sisters when we were little! To be fair they were very on trend at the time 🤣)

Great video. I would appreciate seeing an extended one on adhd. Obviously, only to the extent that you are comfortable talking about it.

Ooh, have you seen costuming drama's video on making her chemise ala grunge? If you need more inspiration... ♥️

As a beginner bobbin lacemaker, I am very excited for a chemise à la goth :3
Also congrats on getting those meds back
Yay new video! Loved this so much.
Thank you for answering my question! 😊
Yeah! So nice to see you. 🎉

This was wonderful! Thank you 😀
“Greetings, fellow humans.” I have missed those words. Welcome back! Oh, and I REQUIRE the Chemise a la Goth, pretty please and thank you very much ❤
The goth bobbin lace project sounds amazing! I did miss the lack of Puddle commentary though..
