The switch between the "performative" Psychotic Negan to concerned after his actions is mindblowing! HE sinks back into his old self "The Monster" to regain what he developed after leaving that behind! What an amazing performance! I am both thrilled "Old Negan is Back" to petrified that he is back! JDM! I adore you!
Well to deal with The Croat, someone literally inspired by Negan and someone trying to be him is going to be brutal, hard to take down and erratic. Especially considering even Negan thought he took things too far. So unfortunately for Maggie, old Negan has to return, and someone is going to have to face Lucille.
I don't think Negan was proud that Maggie witnessed him fall back into what he'd been trying not to be. But I think Negan was just pissed off at the woman dying because she'd shown care for him and Maggie. So he used what he knows to let the Croat's people know "yeah this is what you're fucking with right now". This is one of the few times where Negan did something kinda fucked up for a good reason to somebody who deserved it imo.
All I can say is thank GOD JDM didn't quit acting after Star Trek. Negan moments like this are pure gold that, I feel, only Jeffrey has the skills to make shine.
@@SuperVortexol thank you. I had to even remember back to what Star Trek he was in after this asshole's comment. Bro, why tf would you not go with Supernatural? Hes so much better remembered for that.
The thing that people miss about Negans character is that he’s a master of manipulation and psychological warfare he uses charm and humour as a distraction to the fact that when people engage with him they truly don’t know what he’s capable of and that he’s too unpredictable which makes him extremely dangerous he obviously has a heart and a soul as he doesn’t brutally kill people who don’t deserve but those who cross the line well let’s just say it’s gonna be a “gut” experience other characters like Maggie do brutally kill people but it’s not the same as negan as people fear negans unpredictability and especially his calm charming attitude
@@littleaqua32 Rick only got the better of him because first of all Rick was completely driven especially after carls death but not just that the saviours need others to support them as they don’t produce their own food their own water supply they have contributes from other communities like hilltop the kingdom and Alexandria if negan had focused on self production and efficiency they could’ve come to the point where they didn’t need contributor’s any more but it was an efficient system as the saviours outnumbered and outgunned the other communities also negan was getting very confident during the final battles as he had eugene as his arms producer but didn’t take into account if eugene was 100% loyal or not but when it comes down to it both negan and Rick are great leaders although through different methods Rick has his inner circle of trusted friends family and survivors whereas negan is a pure expansionist always growing in strength and numbers not always efficient like quantity over quality but if it works it works
My God he's so charismatic , hitting dudes , crack in jokes whilst bearing that iconic Cheshire cat from . Easily one of my favourite fictional characters ever
The original walking dead wasn't bad, had major relevance to the comics, finely paced character development (for the most part) and definitely some of the nastiest deaths you'll ever get to see on television, but this, THIS at least already has a special place developing in my heart. The plot seems somewhat mysterious but super engaging, revolves mainly around my favorite character from TWD franchise, and shows the best of him and his antics, good and bad. Just seems like a breath of fresh air, revolving more around action comedy rather than suspense and heavy drama. Cant wait to more of this. 💯
Negans character keeps getting more interesting.. In the following scene you can see the pain he caused himself.. Both physically but also mentally.. He doesn't like having to let the monster out.. But he knows just how insanely powerful it is.. And just how menacing it is....
In this scene, Maggie knows that Negan said the truth about "I only become the monster if i had to". So yeah he did become a monster because that Buraszi guy just killed his friend Esther.
I love this scene because we get to see both sides of the emotion. We see Maggie go from being angry with negan the changed man like she has been to Maggie becoming afraid as she is seeing negan the monster that killed Glen infront of here again. I also feel she sees as he turned around his emotion went from sadistic to tired almost sad even, and it kind of looks like Maggie is seeing that even though he seem to enjoy his games he himself doesn't exactly like doing it. That it is just the only way he knows how to get people to listen and do as he wants them to.
His time in sanctuary absolutely made him realise how terrible he was, to the point he feels almost physical pain having to let the darkness in. Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays it so wonderfully.
Negan in the show is all over the place. In the comics he has the same personality even after the timeskip, he just acts more normal. In the show, it's heavily implied that he has two personalities, the sociopath and the real Negan. Making switch it now like it's a goddamn jacket is confusing, it's Morgan all over again. But regardless, whatever side of Negan is on screen, Jeff always steals the scene.
I honestly like it better that it's more of a him putting on a show, which is implied even in the same episode, but to each their own ig, I can see why some people would like the ruthless sociopathic Negan from the comics
@InFiRe59 Comic Negan is a fucking joke with almost zero dimension. He acts like a God damn 12 year old boy throughout the entire run, and other than being cool with Rick and the rest, he doesn't really develop all that much outside the Lucille moment. I mean I can count on my hand how many times Comoc Negan showed emotion and some semblance of a human being post All Out War. TV show Negan has weird moments where he seems bad, but for the most part, he's pretty consistently a different person. The egotistical "King" side of him does come out from time to time, but that's not sociopathic
This wasn't Negan falling back into his old self. He made the point to Maggie earlier that he was only a monster when he had to be to look good in front of his people and to make a point to whoever he was trying to intimidate. So this was basically him making a point to these people that they just started fucking with the wrong person. Only this time Negan was in the right.
It's negan humor that makes me so conflicted about negan as a character on one hand i still not have forgiven him for killing both glen and Abraham but on the other hand i still love negans personality
Perhaps people will finally understand there are no bad guys, it all depends on the perspective. If Negan was on Rick's side from the beginning, people would love him. Anyways, I needed Negan back
He always gotta comment on someone's appearance. XD I also felt bad for Negan, he didn't want to resort to being that person again. Still a kickass scene though.

Ok hear me out, I want Robert kirkman to do a comic adaptation of these new series, but in the style of how it would of been done If it had been a comic first, like imagine how many swears negan would be saying here.
I always felt like there were sides of Negan that Maggie just never chose to understand or even think about. He killed her husband (because of Daryl mind you) and that's she ever wanted to know or feel. She doesn't want to face the fact that Negan is supremely effective at what he does when he's allowed to be himself. Hell since Glenn's death she has had a myriad of experiences that prove Negan's process to not only be psychologically effective, but cost effective as well and she has been losing battles ever since because of her refusal to accept this. This is what revenge and anger does to people it clouds your judgment and makes you prone to some of your most idiotic mistakes. The most dangerous side-effect being self-righteousness which Maggie has shown towards Negan and others for multiple seasons now. Glenn's death is literally the ONLY thing she has on him anything else she'd turn a blind eye.
I was cheering my ass off when this scene was on😂🎉negan is the man!if negan wasn't in this show it would be crap💩I only watch this show only because Maggie is gorgeous!❤but with Megan it's just thatuch more badass!😂
I don't think this was necessary! It made his redemption pretty meaningless. He will even hold a knife to Maggie's throat somewhere down the road as we have seen that in certain trailers of the show.
Hardly. He already mentioned earlier in the episode that it was all performance when he does this. If you can't tell the difference by now, then hell don't know what to tell ya.
"You kill the right people in the wrongest way possible, and you make em all watch" - Negan
Negan has always been a natural leader. He gets to shine with his own show

The walking dead Joker 🃏
I know a few people who had an eye poping experience when dealing with Negan.
At this point i would say Negan wouldn't kill Glenn if he'd know that he was a husband and there's his pregnant wife with him.

What a full circle moment about not being a monster and putting on a show and then he literally puts on a performance for us! Make it rain Negan 😮🤯💕
Well they did kill that poor old women

He cracked for a second at the neck beard and rat tail line lol
