Nice upgrades. As I write this it's really windy, and wet in Williton. Hope you get some decent flying weather now the PeaBee is ready. Happy Christmas. Cheers John Gathard
@@GolfFoxtrot22 I had a random thought concerning your throttles. If you are for example cruising along at 75% power using the hand throttle, and something happens and you need both hands on the bar, reverting to foot throttle. Can you reduce power without needing to manually close the hand throttle?
@@johngathard4717 No, but I can override the hand with the foot throttle. If I was in a situation that needed me to close the throttle, it takes next to no time and I wouldn't be using the hand throttle in the circuit. It's no different to a throttle in a normal flexwing 2 seater, they all have hand throttles.
Hi Zach, I've had quite a few requests for this specifically so I'll see what I can get done in the next few weeks. If only I didn't have a day job :).
Another great video Giles, I have been following your PeeBee adventures avidly. I have a Dragonfly and fitted a primer bulb similar to yours, however it perished after a year! ( Yes bought on Amazon, cheapskate) Luckily I spotted it on the preflight. I replaced it with one I push into the vent pipe to pressurise the tank and avoid contact with the fuel. Removing it to fly. No problems now.
Hello Peter, I always wanted to fly a dragonfly, I feel I have gone the long way round to being in a position to fly one. I recently received the PeaBee maintenance manual and it actually says to change it annually. I used to prime my paramotor by blowing in the vent tube, and actually did this on my Peabee for a time, but I kept over priming it. Thanks for the heads up and if (assuming you are UK based) ever at a fly-in and I'm there poke me and say hello.
Great mods Giles. The compass mount is brilliant! I can really see these being popular with trike flyers, I would have one for sure. I see you have new wheels too! they look fantastic!
The wheels sneaked in a previous video but they have a made a hug difference to soft ground. In the sub 70 configuration they cost about 4 litres in fuel :(. When I was carrying only 11 litres that a big dent in the flying duration.
@@GolfFoxtrot22 WoW! the increased drag of those wider and I suppose heavier wheels, costs you an additional 4L of fuel out of a tank? if this is what you're saying, I'm blown away, never would have thought, it would make that much of a difference. Interesting stuff!
@@planecrazyish not so much drag, just the weigh compensation to keep the weight below the 75 kgs (I have a reserve fitted). The spoked ones were really light yet strong , just not good in really soft ground.
