also this was V1 headband we are now on headband v3 and we refined the tuning to exceed more depth and wider stage now and of course we could tune them one of 8 different ways from very analytical to very warm and anywhere in between - thank you William Happy Thanksgiving and Christmas! I will re do that set you have to reflect the newest changes any time you like
Mr. Murdock, I want to thank you for taking the time to review these two pairs of headphones. I own three pairs of HiFiMan's headphones. Reverend Dr. Thomas, The Vegan Vicar.
So glad you compared these two. I appreciate the integrity of John M and his love of customer service and willingness to custom tune his headphones to you--plus he's an American with a mom&pop size company. Hifiman is a chinese firm that mass produces headphones. All things being equal, I'd have to stick to my home boy.
One important thing is JM Audio has amazing after sale service ! I have personnaly required some help and sending back and having my issues fixed in a week or so; that is worth a lot! Also the cables are very good quality! All in all the offer of JM Audio is unique and very cool in this mass product world! Long live JMA !
great video, really enjoyed it but regarding Arya, again, it is not correct or normal to hear all upper mid /treble sounds of vocals louder than the body of voice itself,it's really distracting and not correct, specially S and T sounds
Thank you! I was wondering if you define the maximum volume of headphones on bass in your reviews because in all planar headphones, when there is a heavy load on the bass, the diaphragm sticks to the magnet and the sound disappears completely - this is clearly audible when watching movies. Aria Stealth, for example, crashes at a volume of 85-86 decibels, and Edition XS at 79-80 decibels.
I forgot to mention that JM audio custom tunes your headphone to your personal taste. They will even re-tune it for you.
what tuning did you have?
@@1oldson I honestly don't know. They were loaned to me for review, and this is the way they came.
@@theheadphoneexperience-wil2250 the tuning was warm yet detailed- the tuning card is under the foam lid inside case
you are really most serious reviewer , bravo

How do JM audio headphones compare to ZMF, for example Atrium? What about the bass quality on non OTL amp? Thanks for a great review.

I guess I don't listen loud enough for that to happen.
It's not about volume, but about dynamic range, such as when there's a sudden explosion or fall in a movie.

@@SimpleMailWork I seldom listen to movies with my headphones.
