Well Japan usually goes on what does well in they’re country No Game No Life wasn’t popular in Japan Mecha anime & Slice of life anime are though. I lost track of how many anime I’ve watched that didn’t get season 2s but I’m use to it now.
Konomi Suzuki did a really fucking good job on "This Game", It really shows the personallity of the main caracthers, the anime is about 2 sinbling that challengs the gods in a world where violence is forbidden, and games is the only way to solve problems. I reccomend It for everyone that likes a different kind of history. Gl guys!
Not only resolve problems, everything is done by gaming. ie. You can pay for groceries by winning a game against the seller if both parties agree (and they will if you offer substantial collateral, because everyone in that world loves games).
Konomi Suzuki also sung for opening 1 and 3 of Re:ZERO, opening 2 of Spider So What, and opening 20 of Fairy Tail. She has a really nice voice. One of my favorite songs she's sung has got to be the ending song for The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, "DAYS of DASH". Less known today because it's a slice of life romcom from late 2012. No need for you to react to it, but I'd definitely recommend the song just from one person to another.

Another one of my favorite anime of all time, THE posterchild anime of "when is it getting a season 2", people have asked for it so much and for so long that NGNL not having a season 2 has become a meme. Also, the english Voice actress for Jibril, the angel looking chick, is my favorite voice performance in anime, LOVE the nuance and slight variations she puts in every word. Plus Jibril is just the best, everyones favorite genocidal racist angel of mass destruction XD The movie for No game no life is honestly my favorite anime movie just counting "movies based on series", and high on my list of favorite anime movies in general. I don't rewatch most anime, but this one I've seen quite often, especially certain scenes and episode 6. You should also listen to the music of the movie, and Jibrils song: "my master my lord". It is definitely an anime though that requires you to be ok with the more anime side of anime, there are things here that can really put off a viewer (like the way the little sister is portrayed at times) unless they've completely bought into anime tropes and the idea that Anime just does thing different. ... Ok, brb, gotta go watch the ending of the movie again.

Season 1 of no game no life was very good, but the movie was EPIC. Easily one of the best anime I've watched. I really think you would enjoy the openings of Date A Live👍

This is my FAVORITE anime. Short dive on it with no spoilers would be: "expert gamers get transported to a world were games are divine law". The vibe: Really funny and feel good. It has plenty of fan service but i dont think is youtube sensitive. The best part tho is the OVA (edit: i meant the movie, sorry xd), it has a deeper plot and is kinda like the backgroud of the world and is wholesome af. I love it, cant stop talking about it, aaaaaaaah i love this anime so much

So... Konomi Suzuki probably sounds familiar cause she´s made so many openings and endings in anime that she´s become pretty much iconic in the genre. Some of the openings in question include: - So i´m a spider, so what?! opening 2 - Fairy tail op 20 (in tandem with tatsuyuki kobayashi - Bubuki Buranki op - Re zero op 1 and op 3 - Higurashi no naku koro ni ED Just to name a few emblematic ones As for the plot of the series. Our 2 mmain characters are immersed into this world where everything is solved by games, and there are rules that reinforce this idea akeen to "I, robot"´s rules for robots. There are some political tones that transpire throughout the series that make playing games more compelling. Everything else about the series i won´t be disclosing due to potentially ruining the experience, if so happened you to watch it
I found this anime EARLY in my anime quest, so, the full version of This Game has been in my everyday listen playlist from the day I started it. I still get emotional hearing it reacted to. Damn. What a unique, rare, unrivaled anime.

As for the anime the god of a world got bored and reincarnated the worlds best gamers "Blank" to his world after they beat him at a game. The world has very simple rules that are everything is decided by a game and a wager winner of the game gets the proposed wager this can include land, races, anything. The whole manga is based on blank getting all the race pieces (16 races = 16 chess pieces) to challenge god to rule the universe.

OOOOOOH NGNL is a classic when it came out it was breaking the charts but there is still no second season even trough it would be really easy for them to make it. Cause this show was that good. That is why it is a meme in the anime comunity as the solo anime that is really good and got no second season. Modern it is a 2014 anime. Even trough it had no second season it had a movie made but not in the same time the main story progresses (it is not a spoiler so dont worry) so we dont see the main charracters. As for the vocal she did Re:Zero S2 OP ''Realize'' so that is why there is such a familiarity. Games are a theme in this anime otherwise it would not be called No Game No Life :D You would enjoy the show even trough it is really short it has some cool or really good moments. So im happy you enjoyed it.

Her OP from Dusk-maiden of Amnesia, Choir Jail is my absolute favorite by her. The end song is done by the little blue-haired girl's voicer (in character). She's (Ai Kayano) has been in the business 35 years now as both a voice actress and an opening/ending vocalist. She's legendary. You're 100% right about her delivering with emotion. She's phenomenal. On an interesting note, although the anime was from 2014, they had a movie in 2017 and the creator hinted at season 2 coming just before the pandemic hit. Currently we don't have a clue if it's coming or not but with the retro rush of anime these days it's very verrrrrrry possible. Devil is a Part-timer was a 2013 anime that got it's season 2 in 2022. Tokyo Mew Mew was a 2002 anime that got rebooted in 2022. Uresei Yatsura was a 1981 anime that got a reboot in 2022. When comes to anime retro is in ... we have between 1-2 dozen anime upcoming that were long thought dead that are all set for either the reboot treatment or continuation seasons. We're living in a day when you can't count any older anime out completely. Telling you what the anime is about without spoiling is very difficult ... you're both halfway there and halfway to go on the description you gave. I will say this, you were right about those being chess pieces and the title of the show is 100% fitting for the story. It's a unique and very fun show. It was a huge unexpected hit when it came out with viewers.
Man you nailed it on the head, I love that most anime and anime music is very upbeat and hopeful, such a nice breath of fresh air compared to everything else. This OP never gets old, the piano and vocals just mix SOO well. You would love this anime, it's a great comedy but still has some pretty suspenseful moments, it's timeless must watch. You could jump into it right now (after you finished Slime) and enjoy the shit out of it, but it has a bunch of references to other anime to maybe wait?
This is definitely in my top 10 anime openings 😂 especially with how gorgeous the animation is, otherwise it would probably land lower, but still awesome. I would say this anime is about 2 siblings who are really good at gaming that get re-born into a different world. All kinds of games are very present in this with a lot of fantasy elements in there. The characters are very likable and it's full of hilarious moments. Definitely worth giving it a watch even if there's only 1 season animated still after 9 years, but it's only 11-12 episodes or something so it's not a huge commitment.

This anime has a cult base and understandablly one of the most interesting anime. It reminds me of Mondaiji soo much, maybe cause they were around some the same time or period.
I feel like this is one of the few anime that receive very little hate. And that's mainly because there's nothing you can honestly hate about it I'd highly recommend giving No Game No Life a watch. As someone who used to play chess competitively, yes, everyone on our team considered ourselves gamers. Granted if you're that deep into chess, you're also likely heavily into other strategy games too.

I recommend listening to the theme song of this anime's movie, No Game No Life Zero. It is a beautiful song that is also sung by Konomi Suzuki. The movie is actually the prequel of the anime series that takes place many thousands of years in the past, in a ravaged world caused by the endless war between the Gods and the different races. It is darker than the original series and the song reflects this.
No Game No Life is the kind of anime that completely spoils your anime experience because no other isekai anime comes close to touching the absolute brilliance of this amazing show!!
No game no life is one of the best isekai, but it doesn't come close to Mushoku Tensei lets be honest. It might be the second best though alongside a few others like Saga of tanya the evil

i think the reason obsure anime sometimes rise to the top is because they are that good. they are the hidden gems people forgot or that one series that just got one season, like with movies that one classic that good because it did something new and shifted or created new genres. a good non spoiler description would be a brother sister pair playing all kind of games in a fantasy world.
The recommendations you normally get are long running or generation defining shows. The ones that randomly pop up like this are ones that typically only got a few seasons (animated) so its not super relevant, but it was so good that a lot of people loved it when it was airing.
Probably, watched this anime more times than I have digits on my hands and feet. Always loved the story and how colourful it is. I always felt that it made the world feel foreign despite the fact the focus is on Emanity and their small empire.
There is a reason this is my second fav anime. Tho it has A LOT of fan service and might put off a lot of people, but it is really really fun to watch.
No game no Life is like a forgotten classic, it got shelved due to some controversies and only has 1 season that ends with a cliffhanger with almost no chance of it getting a continuation which is unfortunate considering how good it was
No game no life is in the genre called Isekai which means different world. The main premise of isekai is that the characters get transported to a completely different world. The 2 main characters are brother and sister and have genius level IQs when it comes to all games. They get sent to a world where all conflict is resolved by games. I really love the show and still hope for another season
I haven't seen anyone mention it, but the ED is sung by the VA of the female lead, partly on character. These two songs are good, but I hope you would also listen to the songs in their OST album. "My Master, My Lord", and "Cyber Thunder Cider" are both amazing, and "Onegai ⭐ Snyaiper" is also fascinating but in a completely different sense. The latter one was sung by Sawashiro Miyuki, also in character. She's quite the legendary VA herself. That particular role in NGNL that she did is so different from everything else she does is what made her performance so amazing.
Konomi Suzuki is amazing she also did Redo (Op 1 of Re:Zero) & Realize (Op 2) which might be my favorite Anime opening rn that’s why she sounds familiar!

As for the plot of the series. Our 2 mmain characters are immersed into this world where everything is solved by games, and there are rules that reinforce this idea akeen to "I, robot"´s rules for robots. There are some political tones that transpire throughout the series that make playing games more compelling. Everything else about the series i won´t be disclosing due to potentially ruining the experience, if so happened you to watch it
I found this anime EARLY in my anime quest, so, the full version of This Game has been in my everyday listen playlist from the day I started it. I still get emotional hearing it reacted to.

As for the anime the god of a world got bored and reincarnated the worlds best gamers "Blank" to his world after they beat him at a game. The world has very simple rules that are everything is decided by a game and a wager winner of the game gets the proposed wager this can include land, races, anything. The whole manga is based on blank getting all the race pieces (16 races = 16 chess pieces) to challenge god to rule the universe.
I imagine people recommended this one because it's considered one of the best opening themes ever made. It wins popularity polls for best anime opening all the time.

as far as i remember it aired in spring 2014,could be wrong so since its been so long and i watched hundreds of animes so far. so its almost 9 years old,it was really one of the best looking animes of its time
You would love No game no life. It's about a gamer brother and sister that get transported into a world where everything is decided by games. Even wars and rules. And they want to rule this world and all of the fantasy races in it. To be the gods of games.

OOOOOOH NGNL is a classic when it came out it was breaking the charts but there is still no second season even trough it would be really easy for them to make it. Cause this show was that good. That is why it is a meme in the anime comunity as the solo anime that is really good and got no second season. Modern it is a 2014 anime. Even trough it had no second season it had a movie made but not in the same time the main story progresses (it is not a spoiler so dont worry) so we dont see the main charracters. As for the vocal she did Re:Zero S2 OP ''Realize'' so that is why there is such a familiarity. Games are a theme in this anime otherwise it would not be called No Game No Life :D You would enjoy the show even trough it is really short it has some cool or really good moments. So im happy you enjoyed it.

Luke, you've heard Konomi Suziki on both your So I'm a Spider So What? and Re:Zero videos. She's been at this a long time now and has done some fantastic anime music. Her OP from Dusk-maiden of Amnesia, Choir Jail is my absolute favorite by her.
The end song is done by the little blue-haired girl's voicer (in character). She's (Ai Kayano) has been in the business 35 years now as both a voice actress and an opening/ending vocalist. She's legendary. You're 100% right about her delivering with emotion. She's phenomenal.
On an interesting note, although the anime was from 2014, they had a movie in 2017 and the creator hinted at season 2 coming just before the pandemic hit. Currently we don't have a clue if it's coming or not but with the retro rush of anime these days it's very verrrrrrry possible. Devil is a Part-timer was a 2013 anime that got it's season 2 in 2022. Tokyo Mew Mew was a 2002 anime that got rebooted in 2022. Uresei Yatsura was a 1981 anime that got a reboot in 2022. When comes to anime retro is in ... we have between 1-2 dozen anime upcoming that were long thought dead that are all set for either the reboot treatment or continuation seasons. We're living in a day when you can't count any older anime out completely.
Telling you what the anime is about without spoiling is very difficult ... you're both halfway there and halfway to go on the description you gave. I will say this, you were right about those being chess pieces and the title of the show is 100% fitting for the story. It's a unique and very fun show. It was a huge unexpected hit when it came out with viewers.
Man you nailed it on the head, I love that most anime and anime music is very upbeat and hopeful, such a nice breath of fresh air compared to everything else. This OP never gets old, the piano and vocals just mix SOO well.
You would love this anime, it's a great comedy but still has some pretty suspenseful moments, it's timeless must watch. You could jump into it right now (after you finished Slime) and enjoy the shit out of it, but it has a bunch of references to other anime to maybe wait?

This is definitely in my top 10 anime openings 😂 especially with how gorgeous the animation is, otherwise it would probably land lower, but still awesome. I would say this anime is about 2 siblings who are really good at gaming that get re-born into a different world. All kinds of games are very present in this with a lot of fantasy elements in there. The characters are very likable and it's full of hilarious moments. Definitely worth giving it a watch even if there's only 1 season animated still after 9 years, but it's only 11-12 episodes or something so it's not a huge commitment.
The animation of no game no life was so far in front of everything else when it came out and even today still compares to high budget shows.

The first couple lyrics of the opening gives away the beginning of the anime. The basic premise, without spoiling, is they go to world where disputes are settled via games. Could be something as simple as a coin toss to playing chess. It's an anime that is long over due for another season but does have a prequel that is a movie. The show is quite ecchi.

This anime has a cult base and understandablly one of the most interesting anime. It reminds me of Mondaiji soo much, maybe cause they were around some the same time or period.
I feel like this is one of the few anime that receive very little hate. And that's mainly because there's nothing you can honestly hate about it
I'd highly recommend giving No Game No Life a watch. It's (sadly) just 12 episodes and it's really fun!!

Also, I couldn't sit down for very long, seeing this guy get so hyped about some of the best lyrics in all of anime.
As someone who used to play chess competitively, yes, everyone on our team considered ourselves gamers. Granted if you're that deep into chess, you're also likely heavily into other strategy games too.

The one season of this we got was great.. but the movie was next level!! And the ost even better!
without any spoilers the two hardcore gamer main characters are transported to a world where every problem between individuals can only be resolved via gambling, from the smallest issues to things like war, who is in charge or even betting one's life and the stakes can become even higher than that. As for the next opening I would advise kakegurui or inuyashiki, both great animes.
The first verse of the opening actually somewhat explains the anime itself. No Game No Life follows a pair of gamer siblings known together as their title "Blank" in the online world who is undefeated in no matter what game they play. One day a mysterious player challenged them to a chess game and where they won after many hours. They were then transferred by this mysterious challenger, who is actually the God of Games, into his own world where magic exists and everything is ruled by games. With humanity being the weakest of the 16 exceeds (races) due to the fact they cannot utilize nor sense magic, they work their way up to defeat the God of Games again in his own world.
I recommend listening to the theme song of this anime's movie, No Game No Life Zero. It is a beautiful song that is also sung by Konomi Suzuki.
The movie is actually the prequel of the anime series that takes place many thousands of years in the past, in a ravaged world caused by the endless war between the Gods and the different races. It is darker than the original series and the song reflects this.
No Game No Life is the kind of anime that completely spoils your anime experience because no other isekai anime comes close to touching the absolute brilliance of this amazing show!!

i think the reason obsure anime sometimes rise to the top is because they are that good. they are the hidden gems people forgot or that one series that just got one season, like with movies that one classic that good because it did something new and shifted or created new genres.

The recommendations you normally get are long running or generation defining shows. The ones that randomly pop up like this are ones that typically only got a few seasons (animated) so its not super relevant, but it was so good that a lot of people loved it when it was airing.

Always loved the story and how colourful it is. I always felt that it made the world feel foreign despite the fact the focus is on Emanity and their small empire.
There is a reason this is my second fav anime. Tho it has A LOT of fan service and might put off a lot of people, but it is really really fun to watch.
No game no Life is like a forgotten classic, it got shelved due to some controversies and only has 1 season that ends with a cliffhanger with almost no chance of it getting a continuation which is unfortunate considering how good it was
No game no life is in the genre called Isekai which means different world. The main premise of isekai is that the characters get transported to a completely different world. The 2 main characters are brother and sister and have genius level IQs when it comes to all games. They get sent to a world where all conflict is resolved by games. I really love the show and still hope for another season
I haven't seen anyone mention it, but the ED is sung by the VA of the female lead, partly on character.
These two songs are good, but I hope you would also listen to the songs in their OST album. "My Master, My Lord", and "Cyber Thunder Cider" are both amazing, and "Onegai ⭐ Snyaiper" is also fascinating but in a completely different sense. The latter one was sung by Sawashiro Miyuki, also in character. She's quite the legendary VA herself. That particular role in NGNL that she did is so different from everything else she does is what made her performance so amazing.
