I'm watching RUclips videos on the do's and don'ts of these crucial early growing months to make sure I'm doing it right. I hope I did right with using cactus/succulent potting mix with some added perlite for good measure. TIme will tell and I've got my fingers crossed. That's quite a nice specimen you have there! Happy gardening. 🌱

    I would suggest you to slightly raise the caudex of adenium everytime you repot, this will enhance the beauty of the root system of the plant and also display the network of thick roots. I really liked the rainfall guard.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  2 года назад +1

      @Sauptik Saha, That's a good suggestion and thank you for your inputs. I actually did it before..but didn't get good result. Perhaps, it was too early or I raised more than necessary. Very much slow grower and needs patience..lol..Plus, big sized plants are not available in my place because of heavy rainfall in my place. Still, I would try! Thank you for watching the video :-)

    Can prunning only be done in Spring? ALSO CAN REPOTTING BE ONLY DONE IN Spring? Located in Florida

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  7 месяцев назад

      We can do either in Spring or in Summer. But, it's better if we can do in Spring. It's like preparing our plants ready for flower in Summer. Having said that, if there is any urgent situation, of course we can prune or repot in Summer. Winter is the dormancy time and it's better not to do anything that time. Hope I have answered your query and thank you for watching from Florida.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  2 года назад +2

      We can definitely use Humic acid instead of VaMOZ -P but Castor Cake is basically nitrogen fertilizer and it won't work same like Horn Meal. Horn Meal provides the Phosphorus. Adenium is a slow grower and since we are adding sufficient Vermicompost to the potting soil mix, there is no need to apply Castor Cake at the time of repotting. You can apply later, let's say once in a gap of 30-40 days. Hope that helps, thank you!
