This is my Dream, play this Song with Angry in our little town in germany, i am a guitarist for Hobby and love all that Aussie rock....Kind regards, Thorsten
First time seen rose tattoo in Mildura , bridge hotel about 35 years ago, arrived parked my car, and car park was shaking like a earthquake ,no bullshit, what a night legends full stop,
Ha, I just wrote this above about how loud they were: when I was 15 or 16 I think, so must have been '76 or '77, me and my Mates caught a train from Frankston into Melbourne, and walked to the Exhibition Building from Flinders St station as we were made aware there was some sort of Youth thing going on. There were various activities, but also bands were playing, very common around Melbourne at the time, who we listened to a few, and then Rose Tattoo came on. It is the only time in my life of seeing hundreds of bands play, that everyone was as far away from them as possible, up the towards back of the massive exhibition room, because they were so loud! But fook, were they good, and have been a fan ever since! Bad Boy being my favorite.
oOve the Tatt's. I used them a lot when I was a Pub Promoter back in Sydney. I especially liked Angry, who, underneath his stage persona, it a truely good guy. Plus I loved the slide guitar. This is one of their most memorable songs and my favorite.
I remember angry on sounds unlimited telling people to make sure the needles the tattoo artist uses were clean.. angry wound up with hepatitis after getting one of his tattoos.. he couldn't drink alcohol for 6 months..
@@bobbiesnodgrass4380 Yes he got hepatitis somewhere, yet he still appeared on stage (Lifesaver), this time full of dope. You've got to give it to him. You could see he was stoned, even from the back of the joint (no pun intended). Going from being pissed to being stoned blew me away. Still he battled on, and you wouldn't have known, only he made it known during a gap between songs.
As a HUGE, lifelong TAT fan, aint it amazing how this fucking GREAT outfit can not just kick arse over so many years with all the personnel changes, but even evolve too!!!!!! NOT saying any 'era' made it better or worse, Simply different touches that made it all 'swish' together each time!!!! Looking over the players thru the years & GIDDY UP!!!!!!!!!! +stephen bass Yep, loved those days. Sunday session at the Naval Base hotel here in Perth. I was 19. The joint rocked with bogans. Stubbies and thongs. Raw good times. Absolute blast.
Seen them 1982 Madison Wisconsin USA ..coolest band I've ever seen. Will see them in May. Ironic that Angry is the only member alive from the 82 line up, as my 3 old friends that I seen the Tatts in 82 are no longer with us..Rock In Peace..TFFT.

Does anyone remember when Tatts did "Bad Boy" differently ?? It went along the lines "I'm a bad boy..then "Just for love, just for love ", with a touch of swing to it. They only played that version for a while, think it might have been when Lobby Loyde was with them. I've never forgotten it, and would love to hear it again, if some kind fan could put it up. John.
Thanks for that, means there's more than me that remembers that version. A guy I know found their version of "Somethin' Else", from the Sylvania Hotel back in the day. Better than the original by far. You could never say that Angry was timid or shy...even though he copped heaps of put-downs and shit from some audiences..mainly wogs !!
In an interview Angry said that in the early days Bon and Angus would get up on stage with the Tatts and they'd jam on old rock covers.... he lamented the fact that there is no video and apparently no tape of those shows.
Axl came to them! Not only did he came to them, he also was prepared! Could sing all the songs, even ones, they did not play for years, or even at all live, like Touch Too much! Watched him in 2016 and i was surprised about how...not Axl he was. We all know what a diva he can be and how his voice was pretty much destroyed. But back then: He went on stage, they delivered 2 hours of rock and roll, he delivered good (especially on old songs!) and then they left, without much talk. Just as dry and streamlined, as ever! I was REALLY surprised!
If you listen to the lyrics from Rose Tattoo, along with the great back-up, it's hard to dismiss them. I haven't seen their latest line up, but if they're half as good as what was 40 years ago then they'll do me.
my three would be ACDC "Highway to Hell or Shes Got the Jack"[that song comes from when the band all lived in the one house Melbourne and one of the groupies gave them the clap LOL], Tatts Bad Boy for Love, also and i absolute love Chisel " Breakfast at Sweethearts"
Angry had a cuple. "These Pioneers are National Assets". & at least soul inspirations to Guns & Roses. AstralAliens that did good Vibes & ROCKED the Folks to their marrow. Oz Greats. 🙂
I really like this! It's great. Angry still got it that's for sure. But isn't this song just "She's got balls" by ACDC and some slide guitar encorporated in?
This is my Dream, play this Song with Angry in our little town in germany, i am a guitarist for Hobby and love all that Aussie rock....Kind regards, Thorsten
Just cannot beat Aussie rock .
There is nothing else like it.
Raw . Unpolished. Dirty.
And , talent that makes it look so damn easy.
Yeah😊
Aussie and Irish rock rulz...pure street rnr❤
Hell yeah ❤
Saw the Tatts umpteen times in my year in Oz 1978 - 79, loved them, and spread the gospel of this mighty band on my return, happy days indeed.
These blokes are all Aussie Legends.
Pity there are no bands this good anymore

Tattz ✌️ Roadie for the band. A great mob of blokez. RIP Pete 🙏🤘🏴🇦🇺
One of the best Rock songs ever written ‼️
Classic dirty pub rock-n-roll. The guy playing slide would make Pete Wells smile, fantastic player. Great song.
He'd only been playing guitar for a few months before they got big apparently. Crazy natural talent and creativity
Faaaaaaarkkk that was great! Crowd did not do it justice.
Not often you get a legendary band, playing just like it was 30 years ago.
This performance is truly awesome - love it when Angry pulls all the guitars into a tight group - magic!!!
serious set of pipes on tiny angry

Going for a ride with the mighty tatts, on stage every time.
Angry reminds me of a reincarnaton of Johnny O'Keefe, the greatAussie rocker of the 50s and early 6os.- they ae both giants of the stage and song!!
good god these guys rock
This is friggan awesome. You rock!!
Reminds me of the seeing Rose Tattoo at the Manzil room in Kings Cross

Omg great Band
They're having so much fun
Incredible
Good on ya Angry. Great Australian!
The best Aussie rock group rose tattoo and bon Scott should've done a duet.
In an interview Angry said that in the early days Bon and Angus would get up on stage with the Tatts and they'd jam on old rock covers.... he lamented the fact that there is no video and apparently no tape of those shows.
Thats culture
Why the hell waste time on Axel Rose when this true Auzzie rock god exists?
,,, yep !!
Is it possible they offered him and he turned them down????
Axl came to them!

I would put rose tattoo on a par with motorhead...one of the few bands that punks looked up to and respected:-)
They shit all over moterhead

Great stuff!!!
The absolutely perfect replacement for Bon Scott, and I love Brian Johnson
I was just thinking that one second before reading your comment.
11/10.
Should be Australia's national anthem.
du vrai rock n roll

But it was their first Oz radio hit, so there's that. And of course the lyrics are completely different...
If the theme of comment s is AC/Dc vs R.T, let me say that they are aging much more better than. Plus they are better than ever.
