- Its been just over 8 weeks now since my crash at Rampage, things are continuing to get better as the days go on. I got cleared to start doing some easy riding and continue my physical therapy towards a full recovery.

You’re an animal, Kyle. I live in STG and am studying Physical Therapy. I rode Kong for the first time that day and remember hearing that you crashed while on the trail. I think of you each time I ride it and I’m stoked that you are back on the bike now. I’ve always loved your riding style and hope to see you out in the desert in October!

Hey Kyle, you probably don't remember but I put a DH race on at Bass Lake called the 007 series. I remember you attended the last year we had it, I think you were 16 and remember watching you come through the last set of berms before the finish line like no one else had. I have followed you ever since, prayers for a speedy recovery look forward to seeing you at Rampage next year!

I couldn't even watch the event after I knew Kyle wasn't in it. Idk it just took something away from it since he'd been in every one before. Worst feeling in the world, taking off and realizing as soon as you leave the lip that you're coming up short. You just tell yourself "this is going to hurt" and hold on tight to hopefully muscle out. The world's strongest man couldn't have muscled out of that one, harsh consequences for 2 feet of misjudged distance. So pumped to be watching on Insta and seeing how quickly his recovery has been going. Big Dog for the win in 23?, I hope so.
I had the pleasure of meeting Kyle back when he had a Pivot sponsorship at Rampage that year. He was super friendly, down to earth and fun to be around. I hope he fully recovers, comes back with a vengeance and has more of the rides he knows he still has in him. They don’t get much tougher than Kyle. Heal fast and Godspeed 👍

Man, I had posters of you riding in my bedroom walls when you were 16 and you were already a reference for me and to a lot of other kids. I was 14 back then and saw you like "look at this crazy guy and the tricks he's doing!"

So glad to see your recovery and the support system you had! I'm always jealous when I see that, when I broke my back most of my family and friends were the exact opposite, but it gives me hope to see that it's possible to have such a dangerous passion/career and have a positive support system. I broke two vertebrae in my lower back snowboarding 20 years ago and to this day I’m doing exercises to keep that back in shape.

Awesome, knew you would be good but still love to see it. You've got alot of riding left in you big dog. Nothing wrong with taking a more chill approach, or continuing to go big. Either way you're an MTB legend for life and we'll love continuing to watch your riding and content in the community.
Broken back is no fun man...July 31st I broke T12 & L1 (wedge compression fractures), left fibula in 2 places, right ring finger & tore up my knee all in 1 MX crash. I'm 39. Friends loaded up my bike & gear but I drove my rig & son 1 hour home in a stick-shift Jeep...that sucked 😂. I can deal with broken extremities but anything with your back is scary and makes you pause & think a little. I'd say we're lucky because it could have been a lot worse. Heal up proper boss & come back strong 'cause you know we're gonna' keep doing what we love. BALLS OF STEEL!!!

It is a miracle that nothing more happened during the impact. Good that everything is back in line and you can continue to live your dreams. You don't want to imagine what your wife must have felt at that moment.
Not of but when. Glad he is ok. Typically after those surgeries, the back is never the same. Glad he can walk!! Recovery time
