Better for customers?! I haven't been to a concert for better than a decade, entirely due to the insane cost!
same, sucks
There are cheap ones but you take a few days for festivals go for $120 for a four day multiple band concert but they get you on the camping price which is $300 for 4 days
Especially since I’m a 90s teen and used to see bands for $30 at arenas.
It has crashed MULTIPLE TIMES- break this company down. You can not OWN THE LOCATION and CONTROL THE TICKET SALES.
Don't forget they "own" the artists, too.
I want a refund of all the ridiculous fees I've paid for decades
Class action anyone?
I always hate when companies say it's better for consumers when it comes to squeezing every cent out of said consumers.
It's a lie. It's NEVER better
You can’t believe a single word a corporation says, they are all a bunch of sociopathic entities with one goal.
Great!
Now get the “resale” tickets under control!
Seems like LiveNation/Ticketmaster could be buying their own bulk tickets and reselling them for higher prices.
I've been saying this for years lol
I believe promoters resale their own tickets also
Long overdue! Kudos, DOJ.👍
Prices are insane, and artists aren't the ones setting those prices. And then lets' talk about the fees.....
It only took them 30 years to see the obvious.
Bought some 49ers vs Tennessee tickets going for $40 dollars a seat ended up paying $90 after fees and taxes.
Same here. I bought some tickets to a tennis match. The tickets were about $50 per seat but after the fees and taxes, they were $130! It makes absolutely no sense!
That doesn't sound bad at all. Not when tickets to a rock concert cost $800/ticket.
@@SigTheSauceMan this are pre season nfl tickets nose bleed. A 100% mark up from the actual ticket price.
It’ll be impossible to lose this suit. Make it a jury trial, EVERYONE has gotten effed by live nation Ticketmaster.
Now they need to tackle the use of bots to auto-purchase and re-sell tickets.
Very easy, just need to enter in driver license done. bam done, but no one does that
Judges Alito and Thomas are currently accepting Christmas vacation getaway ideas.
Please forward your bank info for consideration.
Yeah I just bought three tickets for different shows in the last month where I paid 5x face value of the actual ticket. It's nonsense.
I feel that decent humans have been fighting Ticketmaster for over 30 years. Pearl Jam participated in Congressional hearings on this very issue in the 1990’s. Shame, shame on the Justice Department for allowing them to get this big.
I have to say: I do wish that merrick garland cared this much about the violent insurrection of January 6, 2020.
They have had this monopoly since I was a kid and Pearl Jam was speaking out even going to testify in DC. Why do these guys get to do it this way?
tbh, I haven’t heard the US Government actually winning a case against a large monopolistic company, which actually produced positive changes in a long time, hopefully this one will be different.
Oh yes! They need to broken up seriously.
Ridiculous fees. There should also be a limit on what they can charge.
Please ! Out of control.
Finally why it too soo long
I have paid 900 for two events. Its insane. I havent been to events since 2019. They control parking concessions merchandise and all. Its ridiculous
Want to lower ticket costs? BREAK THE MONOPOLY
Finally. The federal government actually doing something
You just wake up or something?
Sport tickets / contert tix in America is a disgrace.
I left the stagehand local crew after they tried to grift some money. Overpaying then not accepting a payment plan.
Good. Fees made up half my ticket cost. Insane.
ABOUT 👏🏽 FREAKING 👏🏽 TIME! 👏🏽
Bro I just want my taxes back😩
I have my issues with Biden, but his persecution of Monopolies is worthy of record-breaking levels of praise
Fees fees fees fee…..RIP OFF !!!!
Fees for buying fees for selling
We've been screaming about ticket-bas*ard for decades. I remember every concert ticket I bought in the 80's and 90's was through Ticket Master. It's about time a full account of their business practice was done. While they might not own every venue they do have contracts with most of their venues that precludes the venue from doing business with other companies such as themselves. And if an artist's management company signs a contract with ticket master then it confines that artist to only doing shows at venues that solely use ticket master. This company has its fingers in too many pies.
About time ticket master/live nation is broken up, they control the venues and the tickets and they destroy local venues, they’re a bully, a monopoly and thieves with the insane fees
tickets should be sold at a fixed price and it should have your name written on them so they can't be resold. Named ticket only able to be used by the buyer would remove Scalping as well.
I have never been to a concert because it is way too expensive. I have known that the expense was just crap fees and high prices because it was a monopoly. Maybe I can go to a concert at some point when all of this is resolved.
SHOW US THE MONEY!!
Good. I’ve tried going to see a band at a venue near me, and TM made it so that I decided not to go cuz the fines and fees attached outpriced me going.
The government should go for bigger things like housing crisis
Taylor Swift tickets in France was about $75 for nose bleeder seats compared to $800 in the US. This is just ridiculous.
just go to small gigs folks!!!
How well did that work for U2, when they priced tickets at $16 and Ticketmaster made eighty, U2 lost.
About time!
When the artist is only making money on tickets sold and they have to pay back a loan on top of that to live Nation and Ticketmaster are scam to the artist. Some of these venues easily clear multiples of millions of dollars in food and drinks for events and the artist sees nothing in return.
monopolies are terrible, they can charge whatever they want
They sell and resell the same tickets for double dipping.
In what world where i pay double the price of the tickets in invisible and madeup “fees” makes ticketmaster “better for the consumer”
About dang time
Been like this for years now, glad to see they’re only now just going after these blatant thieves
Good. $18 for a beer is rediculous.
FINALLY gesh people have been talking about this for YEARS.
Thank you for the bread and circuses, excuse me while I drown in medical debt.
Finally! It's only been a monopoly since the internet was founded.
In Mexico is 30 bucks that’s facts
A couple decades late.
Split up! sherman antitrust act of 1890!
This story feels like it is infantilizing the viewer by saying the attorney general is a swifty. Nobody cares about Merrick Garlands music taste; people are well aware that ticket master and live nation are running a monopoly. No reason to dumb this down for the average viewer.
Finally
Why are they focusing on TS? All concerts all genres, all music fans are getting hosed by this monopoly. Youre losing so much good will by focusing on one artist
The newscasters focused on the website crash that made headlines. It's called adding foundation. The DOJ isn't focused on Taylor Swift at all.
Good job 😅
Trump administration would never do this or the Apple lawsuit.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
about time, hahahahahahahahahahahaha good ! about time
Too much diversity causes chaotic, living like we have. Let good things stay the way they are.
"Thats how they do it in Europe" is not a valid argument. Our ancestors migrated here to ESCAPE europe. If you dont like it, go back
I love how the only Live Nation supporter also thinks all Americans are of European descent.
We're paying double for food and they sue racketmaster... 🤪
It was just a big scalper. I get arrested for reselling my ticket for a venue. If I went around buying tickets for cheap then reselling for 3x, again I would have been arrested.
What’s the difference between this or buying something from Amazon? Amazon monopolized everything…
You can get in the car, drive 10 minutes and get it at a multitude of stores.
You really have no idea what a monopoly is do you?
I saw Nirvana, The Melvins, The Dwarves, and Mudhoney at one show for $5...
The first time I saw Tool with Ministry and Sepultura = $25
The last time I saw Tool, by themselves = $150 (Awesome show, totally not worth the money)
Saw Pearl Jam for free with Alice in Chains... Pearl Jam tickets are on sale right now for $250
Taylor Swift tickets go for $5,000+... for singing and dancing... SINGING AND DANCING?
Boycott... easy peasy.
Otherwise, Live Nation isn't the problem, it's the chodes who are super stoke to get ripped off to see some rando nothing human be average.
No human has ever done anything to impress me...
Not
One
Thing.
Saw Slayer with Clutch and Pantera 23 bucks.
Biohazard 22
Marilyn Manson and helmet 19.
Went to a lot of concerts in an early 2000s . Black eye peas 65. Prices went up extensively then.
Wide open order with the cartel and fentanyl pouring across trafficking humans...but the AG is focused on concert prices lol
This is what the video title says it’s about.
Reading comprehension is not your strong point is it?
Concentrate more. You can do it !👍
@@guybeingaguy You're the one not comprehending the situation. Obviously that's what the video is about, the point was he's focusing on things that aren't really important compared to those other issues. Your condescending encouragement after failing to make sense of the situation is peak irony.
@@charlesbarkely3021Oh, so if it’s not important to you than it’s just not important at all and they are wrong.
You also have a difficult time with attention span and staying on subject.
PLENTY of videos on immigration and it’s issues, this isn’t one of them. This is about a lawsuit concerning the music industry.
@@guybeingaguy AG has bigger fish to fry and he isn't bc he's a criminal. Here's a hard question for you Einstein, what's more important the music industry or homeland security?
@@charlesbarkely3021 It’s your opinion the USAG has bigger fish to fry. Maybe he doesn’t, neither of us knows do we?
So you formed an opinion with no real knowledge of the subject.
Next sentence you called him a criminal without ANYTHING to back that statement up either.
You see the pattern that I do?
Side note to embarrass you 😃😃😃😃
The USAG has no authority over border or immigration issues but you knew that right? That would be US Department of Homeland Security. They failed at impeaching the dude recently too over unsubstantiated allegations.
Hahahahahaha!!!!!
You going to any live music shows this summer?
Okay now do something about the housing market. Taylor Swift needs to tweet something about the housing crisis I guess before congress will do anything about it. Like this is cool and all but affordable housing sounds more important than affordable concert tickets
When you have enough money to go to Paris and New York and the West all in the same day for unlimited repeated days, its a problem
TAYLOR SWIFT
Can the American government sue itself for failing the American people?
Customers are willing to pay the fees.
If they weren’t, you’d see the fees go down.
So in the end, they'll pay a fine and nothing will happen after that thanks, Joe Biden
