    Fun Fact: Per Meltzer, marks/fans would visit hospitals looking for the wrestlers, so they had to say Local Medical Facility to not bug the hospital and staff

      @IAmFromTheYear 7 месяцев назад +8

      This might be true... but it doesn't make sense. A "Local Medical Facility" is a "Hospital". This wouldn't deter any hardcore fans from checking a hospital. If this is some attempted deterrence, then it's not very good. Either say "private medical facility" or simply act as though WWE has their own internal medical facility without the need to send injured wrestlers someplace else.

      @@IAmFromTheYearA clinic or a doctor's office is ALSO a "Local Medical Facility", and while there's usually only one hospital in town, there's many clinics in town and likely hundreds of doctor's offices- meaning there's far more plausible deniability that any given "one" is the place they sent the wrestler to in kayfabe (and thus the place to swarm with calls.)

    If you don't like squash, here's a tip! Go out and get a buttercup squash. Not butternut, buttercup. They're green and round and pretty squat. Take it, cut it in half, scoop out the seeds, throw some butter in the middle, wrap your squash halves in plastic wrap, and throw them in the microwave for about 10 minutes. When it's done, let it sit for a few minutes to cool down, then scoop the insides into a bowl and add a small splash of milk, some more butter, salt, and pepper. Mix well. If it's watery, you used too much milk. It should be a semi-thick consistency. It's the only squash I like, and its quick, easy, and delicious.

    Another term for a storyline is ‘Program’

    • @joelandreijose5916

      @RyanAcidhedzMurphy 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@joelandreijose5916 While I normally don't have a problem with Wiki, as a long time viewer of Cornette, and other, shoots, I think I will go with how I've heard the terms used by the people who were actually in the business.
      An angle can refer to a whole storyline, or what happens in a single match. "Working a program" includes everything that happens.
      Getting Over, means getting the audience to like you. Getting a specific reaction, like cheering, is getting a pop.
      I never hear anyone refer to losing as "doing the job", unless it's a jobber. Actual talent are asked to "do the favors". Usually when talking about matches they say that they were told who was going over, and how it was going to happen.

    I think the question about crowd reaction, getting over or pop could be interchangeable because of the way the question was worded.
    Getting over is usually used in the sense that the wrestler has won over the crowd with their character and will be cheered for regularly.
    Pop is more of a temporary excitement by the crowd. Pop is also used when someone does something to make another wrestler laugh.

    john feeling the power of the lead lol
    i think they say local medical facility so people dont start saying "i went to the local hospital and didnt see the wrestler there"
    mostly an assumption based on the fact it couldnt be illegal to say you went to hospital when you didnt
    dante really wanted the belt this week, think he wants to impress someone or wear it somewhere (in bed)

    I would argue that both "Angle" and "Spot" refer to very specific moments on a Storyline/Match, while the question talked about longer periods of time

      Well, again, I took these off Wikipedia, so interpret that how you may. Also, there's a reason (series of actions) was parenthesized in the definition

      @@joelandreijose5916yeah they had a point *listening* to the definition, but reading the definition you were fine with the wording

    Gotta be honest: when I saw the “prank played by or on wrestlers” one, I IMMEDIATELY thought “SWERVE”.

    • @themikays
      @themikays 7 месяцев назад

      same here, it's specifically a wrestling term quiz so i thought "swerve" like that one wwe prank show? like ribbing is an actual word, not wrestling-wise specficially lol

    I fined it funny how I’m 17 and I’ve been watching you guys for a long time and every quiz you guys do I usually figure out the answers to any question in the first 5 seconds if I were to ever compete against you guys in almost any quiz I would win very easily just because I also play the quizzes at the same time as I watch the videos also live the content

    The reason they didn't say "Hospital" "Title Shot" or other banned lingo was simply because Vince didn't like how they sounded iirc

    Sweet potatoes and yams are actually not the same thing so no need to worry Dante 😂However I can understand the confusion because in the case of sweet potato casserole people often times will make it with yams instead of actual sweet potatoes.
