This is real patriotism, to talk not only about victories, but also defeats. I wish there were more bands like Sabaton. I love Sabaton with all my heart. :)
Yes, I agree, we must also remember the defeat in the history of our states. And as for similar groups... I listen to one of these, Radio Tapok, maybe I’ve heard it. Initially, they did cover translations of mostly English-language songs in the rock and metal genres. They released the cover before the official song "Attack of The Dead Men" was released, and the cover also included an insert with the members of Sabaton themselves. One of the first original songs was dedicated to the battle of Moscow. There were comments under the song that joked that they were waiting for Sabaton to cover this song. To everyone's surprise, Sabaton made a cover, which is called (Which was not official) "Defense of Moscow". Let's return to "Slipper" (Yes, "Tapok" is translated exactly like that). Now he is mainly engaged in composing his songs; his last cover was a year ago for Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark. The songs, like Sabaton's, usually cover history, although here they are mainly about the history of their fatherland, although there were 2 songs dedicated to the victims of the bombing of Yugoslavia (Operation Allied Force), as well as the Crusades. P.S. My English would probably not be sufficient to write this answer, so I used a translator. Thank you for your attention, I wish you good luck.

My Ukrainian Gido was born in a village that today is in Eastern Poland not far from the Ukrainian border. As an adult he had many characteristics typically associated with Swedes including being very tall and belong, and having blue eyes. Ofc Poltava is located in modern Eastern Ukraine. However, the events of The Great Northern War impacted much of Eastern Europe and likely led to many Swedish soldiers not returning home... especially after Poltava.
Swedes have a long history in relation to Ukraine that started many centuries before the battle of Poltava, so it's a given that affected bloodlines. Swedish vikings founded and ruled Kievan Rus' and it's began its royal dynasty line. Swe Vikings sought to establish control along the eastern european rivers for centuries
