what a wonderful video, y'all two really brought out the life in all these levels. tbh probably the best casual srb2 content that's out there.
since i noticed it and i feel somewhat qualified to talk about it, the rest of the comment is me going a little (and believe me, this is "a little") in-depth about the final slope section causing so much lag at 9:37, in case you're interested (it doesn't usually cause lag like that). srb2 running on the doom engine causes a couple of limitations in mapmaking, one such limitation being any one section can't be too large otherwise the stage just crashes. the author of this map actually pushed this boundary, exceeding the previously known size limit without (normally) causing much additional lag, if any. however, since you're on splitscreen, two instances of the same level (with the aforementioned pushing of boundaries the final section has) makes the level go into overtime. it's for this reason that (10:19) there is no known way to patch lag like that out of the game.
Sonic Robo Blast 2 definitely is a masterpiece Sonic fan game, it literally is so good, the whole game just brings straight 2D games vibes, it's so great! I loved this video.
I have 2 versions the 1.0.9 for nostalgic with mystic realm wad and the current version for multiplayer and more its fun i like playing capture the flag and more

Funfact if Kirby did manage to inhale and copy Shadow, Kirby would gain a gun while I Am (All Of Me) plays in the background. The Copy Ability is called "OW THE EDGE" lol.

There's mods to change not just the physics, but what color your super form is, and create afterimages behind your character. And pretty shields makes it so that you can see your character while a shield is active. And here's a bunch of monitors, some of which kill everyone including you, may the rng you set up before hand not nuke you. It's wild. Also surge can boost, get full energy and use spindash in the air.
A suggestion if certain assets are lagging you out, switch the renderer to OpenGL, because the System Renderer STRUGGLES with high intensity stuff like bright lights, excess particle effects, or large maps.
You guys should have a racing tournament. All 3 of you pick 1 character and do 1.A boss rush or 2. 3 rounds of 3 races.

Sure, the OST is remarkable. The problem is that it doesn't sound nor feel "like Sonic" in any way. Nor does it feel nor sound "like SEGA". If anything, the entire OST of the default levels and jingles sounds like some sort of late 90s MIDI music for PC shareware games. Not bad, just "not SEGA" and "not Sonic".
I'm surprised Surge doesn't have a boost. That's kinda odd. She looks cool though.

or you could turn srb2 into a fighting game with battle mod it adds gamemodes like arena, controlpoint, diamond in the rough and gives the characters special attacks most mod characters have support for it too.
Or tangled, who plays like spiderman. Like bro, it's wild how good the IDW characters are treated. And another surprisingly fun one is Bowser, yes that one, or kazuma, both having a fun lunge for speed, differing in the second abilities, like bowser being able to convert to his shell to keep momentum but bounce off of walls, leading to you ping-ponging yourself into some stupid situations that you can just cancel out of, alongside a ground pound. And kazuma gets actual combos that interact with the stage, like the overhead kick can give you height, allowing you to get up a ledge you overwise couldn't, and his heat meter gives him more damage and makes him move faster, so keep killing enemies.
