To answer the whereabouts on G.U.N, heard officially Eggman attack G.U.N with his forces and the team decided to disband the organization, which is crazy cuz literally they were attacked by the Black arms n Eggman forces, didn't dip then. But with Eggman forces, naw gg they said, "naw u got it". Guess since Team Dark was AFK throughout the middle of Forces storyline, G.U.N thought of retirement since they don't have the gang carrying them
That and also since it's been a while since they went up against Eggman, Ivo had been grinding and they got clapped. I mean hell, Infinite is a good indicator of this, and he was part of the empire at that point.

I mean, black knight already had great ones. Hell I would argue better than these. Secret Rings also had alright ones but they were improved for the sequel.
