After Hurricane Donna in 1960, all that was left of the then fishing pier (wood) was about 100'. Just about every day in the late afternoon a Stingray would swim by. It had a wind span of about 6' or 7'. It was huge. Unfortunately it was also a target for those who would try to catch it and eventually they did. The barb's on it were about 10 inches long.
Yea this is just past where the buoy would be but it wasn't extremely far. I just swim out from the shore and I wouldn't consider myself a long distance swimmer.

Wow, teaming with fish life. Is this just a bit beyond the usual swimming portion of beach or beyond? So glad you properly have dive flag.
