Wow, looks good as new.. sounds purr fect also!
When no price is listed you know its sky high
You're absolutely right bro. The price is, whatever they can get for it. My opinion $95k
@@isidorogarcia4803 with a C-16, a rare sleeper and in this mint condition, I'd say double.
@whotf888 Not a rare sleeper, it's pretty common. The rare sleeper is the flatop. Idk price but if you're right about price is around $190k then just save another $100k and get a new one. Just 8yrs ago I bought my 2016 Peterbilt 389 flatop with 18sp and Cummins engine loaded and it cost me $170k. Prices have indeed skyrocketed.
@@isidorogarcia4803 A "bed and breakfast" is not "pretty common." The 7CZ makes it even more rare. This entire combination is rare, rare, rare! This video is dated August of 2019; that was when freight rates were very low and depressed; a lot of people went out of business in 2019 but a complete restoration of this truck would have easily scratched $100K, just for the parts, components, and the labor, not including the truck; regardless of rates, this would have likely been priced right near $200K; certainly well over $150K. It had to have been priced in the upper $100s; nobody is going to go through the expense and the labor of a complete restoration to lose money.
This is a dandy rig. This one is a coast-to-coast mountain truck. I've owned several 379s but this one with the 7CZ and the long wheelbase would be a dream to drive, especially in the mountains west of Denver on I-70. The torque-rise on that 7CZ is unmatched, to this day; that's one helluva motor! It is an absolute torque monster!
If this truck would have been placed onto the market for sale in 2021 and the first couple months of 2022, it would have been priced at $300K, minimum; prices were absolutely off the charts during that time frame.
Today, rebuilding is about the only way to do it. The engines are such a disaster today that a person could just as well find a good solid 379 and rebuild it, regardless of the costs. New will cost double what a restoration costs when a person calculates the lost revenue of the emissions trucks. There hasn't been a solid engine after ~2000. The Cummins ISX came out shortly after 2000 and it was an absolute disaster. The N14 was the last good Cummins. The main issue with a complete restoration is time; it takes a lot of time and if the frame rails have to be replaced, it's even worse. The emissions junk caused a lot of problems.
Very beautifull this Pete 379
