I did two tours in Vietnam with the 18th Engineer Brigade and received a good conduct medal after coming home. I also received a Sharpshooter medal with the M-14 and Expert with an M-60 machine gun. Love being over in the Nam, wish i could go back again, maybe stay.

Good information, thank you. Question, I was awarded a medal a couple days or so before I returned to the states. The medal is not noted on my DD 214. I have the medal in the case, a certificate noting the award and even copies of the orders of the award. How or whom do I contact to get award certified on noted on my 214? Thanks

Hello I have a question my grandpa served in Korea from 65’ 67’ during Vietnam would he have received the awards for the Vietnam conflict

No but he is authorized the Korean Defense Service Medal which was not enacted until 2003 but was retroactive to the 1954 so your grandfather is authorized that medal along with the National Defense Service medal.

In Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne and also on the USARV General staff. In the US with the 4th Infantry Division , In Germany with the 2d of the 14th Field Artillery, the 4th Armored Division and in Central Army Group. Also in Washington on the general staff and later in Forces Command.
