I had a very indecicive ex-partner and he asked me to dress more casual and sporty, because he liked that.
Then he changed his mind and asked me to dress cutesy, more stereotypical-those-Japanese-girls-kindof style.
Then he wanted me to dress in army-colours, be tougher, but then he wanted me to dress and act more freaky and gothic.
I, meanwhile, kept thinking that this was all compliments and him 'thinking together with me' on how I would look and act the best.
Because they have this in movies constantly, especially the 90's movies that I used to watch..the girls always re-new their look in a different style. And wear pink on wednesdays.
Anyway, after goth and hippie and posh and grungey and mature and plain and homely and sexy, he changes his mind again and asks me if I want to wear an outfit that he has on the screen.
I look and it is a muslim-sports-outfit, complete with headscarf. I giggle, thinking it is a joke.
He is serious and says; 'I like the idea that I am the only one that sees your bodyshape. I mean, it's like a big onesie...'
I say; 'It's the biggest mofo skirt I have ever seen, but it's sewn up on the bottom, so you can't lift it up. What is this shit?'
He explains it would look good on me and cute. I say I would like it for inside the house. He says that inside the house, this is not necessary, because he'll be the only one to see me.
I ask if he is still serious, he says he is. I am freaked out. ( I let it slide, he cheats, he dumps me, long story, let it go.)
But I dó remember asking him after this, if he knew what he wanted from me. What it was exactly that he wanted. And he couldn't answer me.
Obviously I am who I am and you can't change me like that. I can highlight certain sides of me, if that pleases you as my partner (more gothic-y clothes is a reasonable request, with the emphasis on request, not demand) but this guy had no clue what he wanted and I don't think what-he-wanted had anything to do with me.

I think I kindof realised what was happening, when he handed me a bathingsuit that didn't fit me at all and when I tried to take it off, he yelled at me to keep wearing it. It later clicked that it belonged to his ex, I think that he was trying to 'be with her' by changing me.
But yeah, I am now aware of it and how you can have a few "favorites" or you can ask of your partner to wear ankleboots or tell them you love black lace or long coats... but you cannot máke them wear things that you want, your partner is not a dressupdoll.

I have a legit question about that. How is it that Donald Trump is so openly racist and yet he got a record amount of Latino votes and black votes in 2020 and is likely to expand those margins in 2024. Why are people of color backing Trump more than any other Republican in history?

What these weirdos don't seem to grasp is trying to make Kamala come across as off putting by doing a montage of her laughing doesn't work when she's surrounded by people laughing along with her. The fact they feel so uncomfortable seeing a woman act in such a way just goes to show how infrequently women laugh and enjoy themselves while in their presence.

I'll never understand why having an ungodly amount of money means an opinion on anything is more valuable than someone, for instance, that has to work a 9-to-5 and is struggling to stay out of poverty. Peter Thiel's opinion on anything means nothing to me. I can't stand the constant kneeling to these guys because they have money. There are actual qualities that can exist in a person that makes him or her worthy of listening to. Having billions of dollars, besides not being a quality, is actually a reason for the majority of us to NOT listen to what that person has to say.

People that trust billionaires want to believe we live in a meritocracy but they don’t acknowledge the luck, privilege, exploitation of workers and shady business practices it often takes to get there. To become a billionaire, assuming you weren’t born in inherited wealth, it’s almost a requirement to be ruthless and/or be lacking in character. Some of them, like Musk for example, fake their PR to make their story more ‘relatable’ and lie to investors. Others start fake charities to pocket money they would have to pay taxes for. They take endless loans from banks and lobby both sides of congress to avoid paying taxes and keep those loopholes in place. It’s honestly hard to find a billionaire that I can look at and genuinely say, “yep, I’m 100% sure that’s a good person that earned their wealth from nothing.” I can find millionaires I respect but a billion dollars is such a ludicrous amount of wealth for one person to have. I don’t know how it can justified when there are so many people in impoverished countries that never had a chance.
Rich people have shown they’re not exactly the best people for good takes on things.

Vaush has had a few sexists moments, but i think the reputation is mostly a result of his belligerent personality. He usually promote healthy and respectful attitudes toward women for his mostly male audience so i wouldn't consider him a sexist, even if he can sometime be insensitive and ignorant.
Overall he definitely got some blindspots and flaws, but constantly demanding virtuous purity is a fools errand that will only divide us. You can advocate for someone to be held accountable for their mistakes without villainising them.

Women are NOT 50% of the vote. They are around 52%-54% of voters in the last elections. Women live longer than men and women are more active voters. Since 2016 the electorate has become more female and the huge post-ww2 male lower education babyboom cohorts have started rapidly dying. Harris has a lot of "educated old widows" advantage I don't see Trump appealing to. The ageing population was for a long time an ace of the GOP, but as the men die faster it will go more blue over time and it is going to hit the GOP HARD.

I think the incel-fascist pipeline is a chicken-or-the-egg situation. There's lots of us men who never get laid for a variety of reasons, but we've never decided to blame women and become fascists. Even most people who rarely get laid, I would say. Nearly all of my un-married colleagues simply work too much to have any sort of social life. Me, I busted all my teeth in an accident and couldn't afford to get them fixed. Haven't had an intimate relationship since. I look like a meth head when I open my mouth, which it turns out is a huge turn-off. Not just for potential romantic partners, but also employers, landlords, and banks as well.

As someone who struggled with low self-esteem and depression in my teens because of rejection I had it the opposite way, I blamed myself for not "fitting in" or "being good enough". I eventually outgrew it and realized that rejection isn't an insult and that the people who rejected me would anyways not have been good matches. Thank god I never had an incel phase.

But, I live in a town that is the complete opposite of my social values. I don’t settle. And I rarely ever socialize. Of course I’m never getting laid.
I also don’t drink and can’t stand the Georgia heat so I hate leaving my house and going outside.
My life is basically social suicide.
What I don’t understand is that I do treat people nice and I am generally respectful and warm and a good listener and then when I simply state “hey I’d like to take you on a date” and I get WILD, actually HATEFUL responses from women I perceived as friends and good people.

I cant recall my (of anyone’s) political views meaning anything, when i worked for more progressive people. When i worked for conservatives, they would almost always exclusively higher conservatives (i only got a pass because im a veteran and they assume all vets are conservative) and would collectively push you out of the workplace if you said anything remotely “liberal.”

When I'm in my rural home town I tend to deal with being misgendered and called "she" because I know that there's a lot more trump signs out there than not. When I'm in my college town, I wear pronoun pins at work and enjoy being referred to correctly most of the time in school because it's more accepted.
