Thank you so much for this tutorial! I've tried other tutorials but have been unsuccessful due to age or missing steps. Using a virtual machine to guarantee you didn't miss a step was an incredible help! I found the tutorial easy to follow and now I can use Flip Fluids in my Blender projects. Only took me an hour to get this but thank you so much. I was so fed up of mantaflow but couldn't justify buying flipfluids. This simple tutorial is easy to follow and understand thanks. :)

limitations are no mixbox, no default materials and no presets. There are ways to get these and put them into the compiled version but that would dishonor the creator of this addon. So if you want these than i suggest you buy this addon.
i don't want you guys to depend on others, im trying to teach something. Now you can compile this yourself. Sometimes its better to spend some time learing and understanding things rather then taking the easy route. If you want the easy route then just buy this addon or download the trial version.
@@ShiftA Do you mean the log files created in the flip fluid cache? I don't see any errors there the log just stops after 3 frames. Also I double checked, building goes the same as in your tutorial, so no errors there. I'm really puzzled because I had built the addon before on blender 2.8 with no issues.
could be all kinds of reasons. not enough disk space... maby your cpu overheats. You could try to download the demo version of flip fluids and import that in blender to check if its related to this particular build. If the problem also occurs with demo than its not related to the addon but its something else.

could be anything, i suggest you rewatch video and follow all the steps. Maby you forgot something or building somehow did not run as expected.

Then maby you have a space in de name of a folder somewhere. Remove space or typ: cd "c:\path\to folder\flipfluids"

CMake Error: Target DependInfo.cmake file not found
make[2]: this error appears and it doesnt work
Try reinstall cmake. Best to start over from beginning make sure all deps all installed and paths are correct
when i get up to the python build.py part, it gets up to 4% and then an error message appears, what should i do?

Materials are non -free. Only the flid fluids engine is free to use. If you want materials your should buy it.
