😊 thanks Haley!! 💕
The motivation to wake up is so true. I am not a morning person, but when I was learning to drive I woke up at 6 every day and it was a piece of cake.
Oooo yeah I'd be motivated for that too! I was so excited when I was learning to drive.
🦊😴🥱 I loved this video so much! I started waking up earlier this year and am finally waking up at 6am without hitting snooze! That quiet time to do some yoga and read without the littles needing my attention has been a game changer for me!
I love that Christina!! I feel like 6 would be the perfect time!! 😊❤️🦊
@Christina H that's what I would like to do so much (I have three boys 5, 3, and 1), Yoga and reading before they wake up...that sounds like a dream.
@@_ashleylh that’s how old my 3 are! I highly recommend waking up even just 30 minutes before your kids do. Even just to breathe and have an uninterrupted cup of coffee. It’s worth it. You deserve it mama! 💚
I heard a young mom on Insta show that she gets up a little earlier with her toddler son. She reads and gives him a self-feeding breakfast & quiet items to play with on his own at her feet. Wouldn't work for everyone, but it's an idea for a quiet, slow start to the morning 📚♥️
@@christinah3332 You're so sweet. Thank you very much
This was interesting. It would be fun if you could do like a flip of this and do a "night owl reading challenge" vlog. I guess make up your own rules on how late/early you have to stay up reading every night but have the day to be productive with other tasks. I know I'm NOT a night owl so that would actually be harder for me than waking up early...
OOOOOOOOO wait I like this!!!!
As someone who isn’t a night owl, that would be the real challenge for me. 😂
I’d love to see that flip side. That’s such a good idea!
Love that you tried this! 🦊 I’ve been also wanting to try something like this to get some reading done because sometimes it can go to the back burner if you’re busy, even though you love it. Also loved the editing you did for the days 2-3-4 😭
Good for you! ✨You motivated me to make more coffee and actually put away my clean laundry I’ve been avoiding doing all month 😅☕️💗
I am so not a morning person and when I had to clock in to work at 6:30, it was such a struggle for me. It is interesting to see how people do waking up so early and I'm glad you were able to enjoy reading and having coffee. I often have that voice in my head that says I should be doing things other than reading. Thankfully I'm able to listen to audiobooks so can still usually read while doing tasks.
This video is so entertaining! I wake 6 am every day to work. By 6:30 I'm already commuting and reading. During winter is pretty dark and once the months pass by you appreciate the sunrise even more. I like to have a bit more me time to read and I can leave early from work which is a blessing in the summer. I love that you push yourself to do it.
I used to hate waking up early because I would feel so exhausted but now I like it because the morning is my favorite time to read 😊 I found that 7:30 is a good time for me 💤
Love that! 🥰
Oh my god I'm so happy you're reading A Winter's Promise too!! I'm attempting to read the original so it's in french and I'm struggling so bad :'((( I'll push through bc I want to finish it to hear your review and not be scared of spoilers :D 💤💤💤
Can we get a video of your favourite historical fiction novels? That'll be so much fun as it's one of my favourite genres and I feel most booktubers don't explore it as much as fantasy and YA 😴
Girl your editing in this video is TOP TIER ✨
😴 I've been waking up automatically around 6:30 or 7 for quite awhile now. Some days I fight it because I'm actually really tired but other times I can't fall back to sleep. Reading is the best thing to do that early! Glad you made it.
Thank you! 😊❤
Omg hahah ahhh I love experimental videos like this!! I’ve always wanted to try something like this but I am soooo not a morning person. Like even the idea of waking up at 8am makes me want to cry 😂 but I love this video so so much, it’s so fun and inspiring!
This whole glamorous and romanticized way of waking up early is so fun to me because I wake up at 4am most days for work anyway haha. I could get away with "sleeping in" til 4:30, but I love having that extra time. I have a nice long breakfast and I spend some time reading before I actually get ready for work, and some days I even have some time left to get some cleaning or laundry done before I head out 😊
Yes! I loved all of the extra time as well. Your morning routine sounds so lovely 🥰
I feel ya! I wake up at 4:20am everyday, weekends included! It’s a struggle to find time to actually read with my schedule. 😢
💤 Yay! I'm a morning fox for sure, but let me tell you - there's a huge difference between waking up at 6am and waking up at 5am. 6am = refreshing "me time". 5am = insanity 😂. I've been reading at 6am for over a year now, and it's the one routine habit that I actually thrive with. Thank you for sharing your experiment! Hope you keep some of that mentality of allowing yourself to have a bit of no-guilt reading time everyday!
Congratulations

Hi this is first time I have ever commented on your videos. I love watching your videos and I have to tell you I get up every day at 5 am, make my coffee and read. I love to read in the early morning and enjoy the peacefulness. It is my favorite time to read. I read in the evening also but by the time I read in the evening I am so tired I don’t read very long. Thank you for all Your awesome videos 😊
I love your videos so much ❤️ I have been rewatching some of your vlogs and book hauls and they just make me happy and are so comforting. Thank you for sharing 😊
Editing is fantastic! Love the music you chose!
I love that you took the initiative and did this experiment! Finding a balance between business and pleasure is so hard. I wake up at 6am during the week and between 6 and 8 is my coffee and audiobook time. 🦊😴
Congratulations

🍁🍁🍁🍁 thanks for the cozy vibes Lexi! I wish i had a friend like you that shared all my interests 🍂❤️hope you have a great day!!
I actually just started trying to wake up at 5 a.m. on my work days about a week ago and I find that it's helped me feel like I'm living a full day even when I at work for 8 hours
Hey Lexi,love your videos!
You always motivate me to read more💖😴
Aw thank you!! 😊❤
Great video! I have a hard time thinking of why to wake up earlier, but I want to so I can read more/make more time for it!
I love your hat!
I'm a night owl, so 5 am is punishment for me LOL!! But I have been incrementally trying to work up to going to bed earlier and my goal is 6 am eventually. Good job! I'd totally turn off my alarm... 'nope' and go back to sleep, but I agree its got to be easier if it's something you're excited to do.
There was a time when I was consistently getting up at 5 to workout, and shower, and then by 7, I was set to read for an hour. It was the perfect morning routine and I'm working toward getting back to it this year cause I was feeling so amazing. My longest streak at that point was 50 days. 😴😴😴
Congratulations

Omg, I LOVE keeper of enchanted rooms. I actually love Charlie Holmberg. Either I got into her late or no one talks about her books. Ive pretty much read everything she has written. Im currently waiting for book 2 which follows keeper of enchanted rooms. I am a night reader vs a morning I literally could not have done this lol
This video was so fun. Why is it such a good time to watch someone else wake up at 5am & make coffee? I don’t know, but it is!😄😴💤☕️📖
I’m obsessed with the shirt you are wearing in this intro!
I've started waking up just a half hour earlier to read and I love it! Perfect way to start the day but not waking up super early.
I like this video ! Two years ago, I was wake up 10 am. Since i’m mom, i’m wake up at 5 or 6 am. It was difficult but since I have a goals and new life, it's better. Every mornig, I read a book with my little girl ♥️
Great video as always ❤❤❤
This is so interesting! The motivation thing is so important but unfortunately, nothing outshines my passion and desire for sleep. LOL 💤💤
😴Your new place looks so cute and cozy! Love the fireplace!❤
Great job Lexi! I hate mornings lol Also, I love that pink sweater ❤ 🦊 😴
Wow Lexi thank you so much for forcing yourself to get up at 5am for a whole week for us! That's dedication!
I personally like waking up at 7am or 8am to get an hour of reading done in the morning, maybe this would also be an option for you😴💤
Great advice, thank you!
😴
I just found your channel and I'm loving it so far!! This video was super fun! This year I start working at the hospital for my last 2 years in university and I had to wake up at 5am everyday, it was rough the first week but then it got better. I agree that you need a motivation tho
Getting up early is so refreshing! I get up at 4am to go to the gym and read before I have to go to work at 8am. It’s always nice to watch the sunrise, especially in the winter since the days are shorter. ☺️
You would look so good with bangs!!
I wake up between 4 AM to 5 AM every morning. It doesn’t matter if I go to bed at 8:00 PM or 10:30 PM, I still wake up super early. I work from home and I start work within half an hour of waking up. Early morning is my best time when I’m the most productive.
5 am is waaaay to early girl, but I'm so proud of you for pushing thru the week!! I was wondering if you are planning anything for middlegrade march??
YES I AMMMMM! I'm planning on doing a whole dedicated vlog for it and I might do a recommendations video?? I'm not sure on that one yet though!
@@alexandraroselyn Yess please!!❤❤❤❤ I love your recommendation videos💗💗💗
Gosh that you tried this in winter. Good for you. I like 630, but with winter I've given myself grace to sleep in until 7, or until the cat drags me out of bed. 😴🦊
I get up every morning at 4:45 to get my workout in for the day. It makes sets me up to have the best day! Waking early gets easier with time. Making it a non-negotiable and taking steps the night before to get a full, restful night is so important. 😴
Omg!!! I need to know how u do ur coffees!! Mine never come out good lol
Hi, I love this! And I love what you’ve created with Foxenwood 🦊thank you so much ❤
I had to get out of bed for over three years at 4.30h and I loved it. Work started at 6.00h but ended at 14.00h. No traffic jams and still a great afternoon every day to do whatever I liked.
Now that I don’t work anymore due to back pain because of a broken back, I wake up at 4.00h and enjoy the sunrise every day. Even in summer I love to watch the world waking up and all this with two cups of coffee.
My fiancé gets up super early for work, so I wake up with him at 4:45 and spend some time doing yoga and making my breakfast and listening to videos (like yours!) just to start my day. But I do try to read for an hour right before bedtime.
This is coming in at a good time. My new year’s resolution is waking up earlier and make more use of my day.
I’m an early riser (4AM) from the time I was small! You can take the girl off the ranch but the girl is gonna carry the ethics with her, I guess! I love that you tried and were honest♥️
😴
OMG 😊 I've got to try this "5am productive girly". Thanks ❤️
😴 I used to get up at five when I was working. But now I’m retired 👏🏼👏🏼. I now get up at 6 because I love the quiet time before the world wakes up. 🧘🏻 I make my cup of coffee and read for about an hour before eating breakfast. Life is good! ☺️
It takes a while to reset your body clock so that waking up early is normal for you. I always used to stay up late and sleep in late (when I could) until I had a baby. Now he wakes up at 6:30 every day no matter what, so I have taught myself to wake up at 5:30 so I can have a coffee and some me time with a book or a youtube video before he wakes up and my 'work' day begins. It's now the best part of my day
Great vlog 📚☕
You've inspired me to get back into waking up an hour or two earlier in the morning for extra guilt-free reading time and productiveness. Just need to go to bed earlier to get a decent amount of 😴💤. 📚🙂
I would have to get up at 5 and 6 every day for work.. so glad I don’t work in that job anymore😂 loved this video! I do love being an early riser.. just not that early 😂
The moments of you making coffee felt like ASMR….I almost fell asleep😅😴
Good on you! I have to wake up at 3am for work. But you will not catch me waking up before 9am on my off day, that's for sure! Ultimately, do what is right for you.
Oh 5 a.m. 'sounds' so good, but ugh, getting up is such a struggle 😭I think you're rt.....reading would have to be the lure. Great video 💖💤🥱😴
😴 More power to ya!! I’d be falling asleep!! Lol
😴 💤 I think the first lexi video I saw that made me subscribe was one where lexi turns from her camera to look over at her cat and shouts, "You are so cute! You are SO CUTE!!" and the cat is like, "Wtf, human?" 🤣
you are a LEGEND
Loved this! 😴🦊
It’s not just waking up early, but staying awake while reading!!! You did great ❤
Hii where did you get that skull that’s in the glass vintage bookcase!?
I think everyone has to discover their own best routine rather than try to force themselves into something, or it won’t last. I no longer focus on a time to get up because I have found that it works best for me to get up with the sun. Getting up when it’s still dark out just doesn’t work for me - everything in my body and brain tells me it’s still night and time to be asleep. But as soon as the sun is up I gain energy quickly.
So I get up earlier in the summer and sleep more in the winter and that just feels kind of “right” but I know that might be too chaotic for other people to get up at different times throughout the year.
This was really cool to watch! I wake up at 5am every morning to wake up kids for school. 🙃 So fun! Lol. My body naturally wakes up on the weekends between 3am and 7am. Haha also fun!
😴 loved the video. I might have to try this.
Great Video And Experiment Lexi and I always wake up before 5 am actually to get my day started Lol 😂 So like 4:30 am so I feel you girl 👧🏻 So what helps me other than getting ready for work which is why I wake up early like I said I also listen to a daily devotional every morning and that’s my motivation for getting up early 📖😊 And Frost Heart the middle grade you are reading looks really good once I’m done reading my current read I’ll definitely check it out 😊 Have a Blessed Sunday Love Your Channel ❤️❤️ 😴😴
I have to wake up at 5 am for my job. And let me tell you- it took me YEARS to not feel sick to my stomach upon waking. I can't even wake up at 5 am on the weekends. Yes, I feed my cats in that timeframe, but I always go back to bed for a few more hours. If I wake up that early, I'll just take a nap usually during the day. Haha I can wake up more naturally around 6:30/7 am though.
Yes! It was so hard to convince myself to get out of bed!! That’s so incredible you do that on a daily basis I have so much respect for that it’s so HARD!!
😴 I understand the motivation to wake up-my brain fights me at seven in the morning when it's time for me to get up and go to class, but lately it's been good and I like it (plus I get to read before I head off to class)
Hey Lexi! What time did you go to bed when you did this video project? Starting tomorrow I’ve got shifts that start at 4:30am lol so I’ll be waking up at 3am at the latest 😴
Omg 3?! That’s incredible how do you do it? And I tried being in bed by like 9:30 at night but I wouldn’t fall asleep usually until maybe 10:30??
@@alexandraroselyn yeah, I said I was available that early to get hired 😂 probably a huge mistake. I’m going to try and be in bed by like 7, but who knows when I’ll fall asleep haha; I’ll talk about how it goes in sprints (I’m Shenoa over there by the way ☺️)
Please do more bookworm experiments !! this was very fun to watch!
It's not for most people, but I found that the only way to get through waking up super early is to do it consistently for at least a month. I wake up every day around 5:15 to get ready and head to the gym by 6 am. It took me about a month to get into that routine and I do it pretty easily now. I don't always go to bed early enough so I do admit that I need more sleep in general, but I've found that early morning exercise is the only way I am motivated to get it done. Lol and thankfully my workouts give me an energy boost so I don't usually reach for caffeine at home (if I do, I go for matcha bc it doesn't worsen my anxiety like espresso does).
All this to say, if you want to try this forreal, do it for a longer period of time and give yourself grace while doing so! If you are tired or need to nap, it's okay and you should. Your body will eventually acclimate. 😁
I know this video was a lo.g time ago but I'm a new subscriber and going through your backlog. Question-what e reader do you use in this video and do you recommend it? Thank you!!
I just upgraded to the newest kindle paper white and I couldn't recommend it more! :)
This was fun to watch. I get up at 5 am for work so I'm used to it. In the beginning I definitely felt like a zombie!!!
😴 loved this video :)
You did great. My day starts at 4am get the hubby out the door. 4 kids up for school at 7am. 1 kid ready for the home schooling that day and 1 kid out the door for work lol. Then bed at 10-11pm. Again you did great 👍 😴🥱
Watching this just after 4 am is really adding to the whole idea lol 🥴 wish waking up early for me was for reading but unfortunately I pretty much have to be at work by 5:30 almost every morning!! yawn lol 😅😅
We should never feel guilt for doing something that brings us joy - that IS productivity! I refuse to wake up at an ungodly hour to enjoy the thing that brings happiness! Maybe I’m just getting old and gaining perspective 😂😂
i do this daily already during the week because my full time job would simply not allow me to read as much as i want to otherwise ): lmao love this video so much!
Your videos were why I started my book journey
As a mom and wife, I adore waking up early so that I can have an hour or two of peace and quiet. The whole house is peaceful, I can just sip my coffee rather than chug it, and I can do what I enjoy without someone pestering me for something every 5 minutes. And for my area anyway, it seems the whole world is still asleep so there is this quiet on everything, kind of like the first snowfall. Due to my current schedule, waking up before everyone else is not a possibility and I really miss my me time.
😴❤
My son was a great sleeper, but till age 4 consistently woke before 5:30 am. He broke me. So I struggle to sleep beyond 6am....I love my extra time in the mornings, but wow its rough and I'm not sure I would have chosen this route! I can't stay awake at night past half9 either....he's worth it though lol.
I’m a night shift nurse, but I love the idea of waking up at 5 am! This was a fun video!
Whoop ! First one here. I'm so excited for this one. Though I could NEVER do this !
lol yeah I had a looooootttt of coffee
seeing you struggle was so fun 🤣 i wake up everyday around 6 but the times i've tried to wake up at 5, it's so much difficult. i don't know what is the science behind that lol
Would I wake up at 5 am if I HAD to? Of course. Will I get up at 5 am voluntarily? Absolutely not 😂. I am “a lunch break and before bed” reader. I’ll stick to that as long as it works for me LOL. Love the view of your backyard 💜💜💜
😪😴💤 Everyone has a normal sleep cycle that they need to discover to make them productive. I personally wake up at 9 AM and go to bed at 1 AM. This gives me 8 hours of sleep a night and I read from 10 PM - 1 AM. I also try to read as much as I can when I get off of work before I have to make dinner. I have never been a morning person and survived on coffee when I was in school and had different jobs where I had to be at work super early. Since I have a healthy sleep cycle that works for me now, I normally do not get fatigued and I drink 1 glass of green tea a day. I no longer need coffee.
Omg you no longer need coffee?! That’s incredible!!!
@@alexandraroselyn Nope, I haven't had a cup of coffee in over a year.
I wake up at 5 to go to work...I guess the motivation is survival? Lol. Love that you tried this
I couldn't imagine waking up any earlier than I have to right now. I wake up at 4 am most days to be at work by 5 am.
But I do love waking up on my days off at that time to read and cuddle with my dog!
When I was in elementary school I always wake up at 4:30 am because my school starts at 6:30 am and everyday I walk to school ( 30 minutes away from my home). Not only that at 5:30 am we have this flag ceremony , where we sing the national anthem and other hymns and do some exercises. I did that for 6 years.
I found an app that wakes me up 15 minutes before sunrise every day, which I think is peak--I get to sleep in when it's cold and dark, but I get to watch the sunrise every day. I have to adjust my bedtime a lot throughout the year, but it's worth it ❤❤
I have to get up at 6am for work a lot of the time and it’s absolute torture, but I can see how getting up to just read and not have to leave the house would be nice!!
I’m proud of you! I wake up at 330 a lot of days of the week to be at work for 5am and I wish I was waking up early to read instead of work! It makes it so hard!
I kind of want to laugh as an early riser, but I honestly love waking up in the morning. It does make you feel like you have more free time. And at least for me, if I am waking up early, I do the things I want to in the morning. Such as watch booktube and read, and by like 9 or 8 am I am good to start doing things I need to because I've had a few hours to do whatever. I do go to bed early though because once it became apparent that it was just always going to be happening, I realised I needed to make up for the lost sleep. But some days I get at as early as two. I also go to bed when I feel like I am one with my day, an that includes doing the things I want to do. I didn't plan to be an early riser. It just happens. I actually remember when it began and it was in year ten just when we hit the summer holidays. As in the weekend after school finished for the year, and I finished year ten, and I woke up at five am. And when I wake up I am awake, no coffee needed. And I remember lying there wondering why I was awake because I could finally sleep in, and then it didn't stop. And now, it is still happening.
😴😴 Nice job! 👏💕
Last Saturday I woke up at 530... ugh! I finally got up at 6 and read for abt 1.5 hours and finished "House of Hollow". Loved that book! My first YA novel!
I wake up at 4:30 and read every morning! I actually only do it because that is when my husband wakes up for work and it helps to get up together. Also, it took me about a solid 8 weeks for it to feel normal. I've now been doing it for about 10 months and it feels so normal to me, but it was tough to push through in the beginning!
Out of curousity what time do you go to sleep?
@@bbth667 I am usually in bed between 8:45 and 9 to read and turn my lights out by like 9:15!
Good for you, Lexie 👏🏼! 😴 💤
