You are one of those guys who seems capable of anything: perfect restoration, fantasy, or post-apocalyptic mayhem. Always done with taste, balance, and technical excellence. Would love to own one of each of your different styles to remind me what one is capable of when the creative mind is let free! Thanks for sharing it with us.
There was a set by Corgi, which included the Commer body, and a set of swappable rear pieces, so you could make whatever kind of vehicle you wanted. I never owned it, but always rather hoped I'd get one for Christmas. Beautiful restoration, there. Nice one.
This vehicle reminds me of my grandparents who toured Europe in a camper version of the Commer Van when my father was a boy, his abiding memory of the journeys was his lifelong fear of heights after travelling along mountain roads in the Alps along unfenced roads with steep cliffs falling below them. Great restoration once again Danny. 👍
Great resto Danny. Iv actually got the commer pickup version with working fibre optic (kinda) lights that you shine a torch down or leave with a light above. I removed the back and made a motor home body for it. It's a bit of a restomod too as I lowered it and fitter some porsche fuchs wheels. Never finished it tho. This has spurred me on to finish it now. 👌
What a little stunner! I'm a big fan of this casting, there are several versions, yours was part of the Constructor set that had a red and white body plus ambulance, van, pickup and milkfloat rear bodies that could be swapped. The standard casting had the rear body permanently attached but still made as separate parts, There are also versions with the brilliant Trans-o-Lite headlights
Great restoration. You mentioned a military one but we never had a military one it was a police van and a milk float that where the three options when they came out I had all three
I think that gimmick served a purpose too Danny. Did they use the same base for several different Commer vehicles? I remember having a pickup that looked very similar but don't remember if it had the detachable base. This one brushed-up very nicely. For some reason, the clear windscreen and the red interior look particularly good on this model. These flimsy plastic interiors often look cheap and nasty but this one has lasted well. The chrome cleaned-up nicely too.👍👌😁 Another one for the display case, looks great. Cheers for now, Dougie.

Since you’re restored a few Corgi models, maybe you can do a video on them.
what plastic polish is it you use bud,
I can not see how you make the blue roof lamp...anyway the final outcome is great..
