+1 for Starmie, I'll mention that it's what speedrunners use. People who unlock all 4 regions on tons of accounts do it by using a level 20 starmie to start on each region, and teach it Thunderbolt and Ice Beam via TMs (which does cost 45k, but you make up for that from the time you save in the run) and then you just cruise through the storyline with a single pokémon. The main thing is the high SpA + the high Speed + the super-effective moves, or neutral at worse. It's not something you can do on your first region, unless you have a 60k+ just sitting around, but if you've already finished one region and you want to unlock the other three as fast as possible, Starmie is probably the best way of doing it.
Another thing is that you actually get Thunderbolt in 3 of the regions, so you can just use it for your next Starmie. In Hoenn, Watson gives you one after you save New Mauville. In Sinnoh there's one in Valley Windworks and in Unova there's one in the P2 laboratory. These last two are post-E4, but if it's your main account, you're already doing the post-game any way to unlock everything.
As someone starting the game tonight, this tells me to pick a fire starter in every region due to oddish covering grass and shelder/starmie covering water. But no fire coverage.
mostly because you don't really need it Fire is effective against: Bug, Grass, Ice and Steel. But for all of those, there are alternatives: Ice - Weak against from Rock and Fight (Scrafty, Starmie, Krookodile) Steel - Also takes from Fight and Ground (Scrafty, Krookodile) Grass - Ice and Flying (Starmie, Cloyster, Gyarados) Bug - Flying, Rock (Starmie, Gyarados) and since most bugs also are Flying... Electric and Ice from Starmie and Cloyster But hey, Typhlosion is my favorite fire starter aswell, you have a 6th free slot anyway, so go for it!
I just started playing this game 2 days ago and I’m totally addicted is my favorite Pokémon experience ever my favorite part is battling people that are progressed as much as me
If you want a single pokemon that will solo any storyline without any effort, use ONE move only, and is fool proof unlike the ones in the video, then there's only one pokemon in the game. This pokemon is Porygon-z. This pokemon is beyond broken for seven reasons. Tri attack. 135special attack(the same as ALAKAZAM), fast, decent defences, normal typing, doesn't require ANY tms, and adaptability. Let's look at the most popular storyline pokemon, starmie, it has 4 coverage moves that deal 180% power as long as they hit for super effective damage. That seems great right? Well no, adaptability porygon-z with a silk scarf ALSO deals 180% power with tri attack... but on EVERYTHING, and for HARDER. Starmie is also very weak to SIX very common attack types, while porygon-z only has 1 weakness to the uncommon fighting type moves. But why's normal so good besides the fact that you can't hit them super effectively? Well, nothing really resists it, and the ones that do in the storyline, rock/steel, usually have sturdy anyways, making them a two hit regardless. But even then, they still just die in 1 hit, because cutting a 180 power move in half is still 90 power, the same power as something like psychic or thunderbolt. What does this mean? It means this pokemon will NEVER encounter a roadbump. Nothing can stop it's tri attack spam except ghost types, and we got thunderbolt/psychic/w/e else for that, and once you finally reach elite four in any storyline, all you have to do is nasty plot a single time, then continue to roll your face on the keyboard with tri attack for a free win. Absolutely disgusting, and the most faceroll storyline pokemon i've ever used, and I have used 31spatk modest starmie, skill-link cloyster, dragonite, moxie gyrados, and moxie krokadile for past runs. The problem with all those pokemon is the fact that they have weaknesses, they can't always solo by themselves without a secondary pokemon helping them. Porygon-z will NEVER need a secondary pokemon helping him in any storyline, period. Edit: If you are curious, this is the set I run, tri attack, psychic, recover/thunderbolt, and nasty plot. With tri attack, you can finally give up using your brain for good, so throw your psychic-thunderbolt-surf-ice beam starmies in the gutter, and get a real storyline pokemon.
@@christaylor2403 Late reply for sure, but for anyone looking for the exact answer, I have decided to go on Smogon and see its preferred abilities and nature. And thus came to my conclusion that the abilities recommended for you to use are Adaptability (S.T.A.B. DMG became 2x instead of 1.5x) or Download (Atk/SpAtk raised by 1, depending on the foe's defense), while the nature is Modest (+SpAtk, -Atk). Not to mention your EVs should be looking a little like this: 80 HP | 252 SpA | 176 Spe. I got 6 so a perfect one but i spent a lot of time farming them with oddish next to nugget bridge until I had a 31. Then bred another after every game but did have to farm towards the end game for the money to buy my last 2 mons to breed.

I think thts incredibly fast compared to the average, all storylines completed takes most players 200-300 hours from what ive seen. I'm a bit late to the party, but I'm just starting getting into PokeMMO. I am having problem with Elite Four and I saw your tips & tricks video using a Steelix due to it having Sturdy ability and can use to set up the move Stealth Rock.
