  • I've now bought the Hoka Bondi 6, Bondi 7 (2x) and now the Bondi Sr.
    I like them all, though is the Sr much better than the 7? It's also NOT a running shoe, and that's a bit different.

    HOKA SR = “slip resistant” (not “senior,” 😂). 👍

    Very helpful review. Thank you! I appreciated the details you provided. Until I read the comments below, I didn't know what SR stood for (slip resistant). With your additional information, I decided to order a pair. Many thanks!

      Awesome. Let me know how you like them. I still wear mine every day. The soles seem to be holding up very well--though they tend to be a bit squeaky on hardwood floors. :)

    Oh sorry, also I bought the black ones for work and they feel great. I have high arches and these have great arch support. I would recommend for people standing or working on concrete floors alot. I work in a hanger. They are comfortable and cushiony and slip resistant. Was $10 cheaper in the store than online. Also be aware I normally buy size 12 and sometimes wide (EE) but in these I had to buy size 13 and they fit perfect. I would recommend.

      Good to hear. Yeah, I like them so far. A little snug right now but still breaking them in. I am traveling soon and don't want to break them in during the trip of course.

    Hi! Is bondi sr version warm? What is the minimum temperature to walk in them without your feet freezing?

    • @renaissancejames
      @renaissancejames  10 месяцев назад

      Hmmm...I think perhaps warmer than the running shoes. The material is tougher, and the soles are pretty sturdy too.

    How would you compare the width of Bondi SR vs Bondi 8. I'm asking cause I have Bondi 8s in a 4E for work. I would prefer to buy the SR over the 8s for durability but they only come in a 2E wide. So I'm curious if the SR is wider shoe then the 8s.

    • @renaissancejames
      @renaissancejames  Год назад +2

      I find the standard widths to be the same. Both are fine shoes, but I will usually wear the 8s because they are lighter and more comfy. When I go outside, I try to put on the SRs since they are more sturdy.
      I'm just not sure I notice much difference in the widths. My feet are pretty standard, and I do feel the side edges on both shoes so I imagine if one's feet are wide, a wide shoe will certainly be needed.

    SR stands for Slip Resistant

  • @blacksunshine489
    @blacksunshine489 Год назад +4

    So like another comment SR=slip resistant for work, all leather for durability. They are not for running. Bizarre review, you talked about all your other shoes and how they wear out because you don’t take the time untie and tie them. People are looking for how they feel and hold up in the work place. You get a F. No more reviews for you.

    • @renaissancejames
      @renaissancejames  Год назад

      LOL! Snarky much?! But yeah, I didn't buy for running. Just a walking/around the house shoe. Certainly for work, they may be great--in the right job.
      I did a follow-up recently. Might be good to check out that video. While I used them for about a year, I did stop after getting another pair of Bondi 8. The SR were just too heavy (30% heavier than the Bondi 7) and not comfortable like the 7 and 8.
      That said, the soles are a beast. I wore them every time I went traveling around the world and the heels (8 months later) are as good as new. Solid material there! Other shoes like the 7 and 8 wear out shockingly fast.
      So okay: for feeling...I'd say 6/10. Durability 10/10.
      Hope that helps. Cheers!

    Does this help with flat feet and do they have good arch support ?

    • @renaissancejames
      @renaissancejames  2 года назад

      It's not huge in arch support. Some, but not a great amount.

    Is the stack height of the SR taller than that of the bondi 7?

    • @renaissancejames
      @renaissancejames  2 года назад +4

      I believe they are close on paper, but the SR definitely seems higher. Notably, the angle seems less so I would not want to go running in the SR, even though it's listed as a running shoe on the Hoka site.
      I'll be getting the Bondi X soon and will test those for running.

      @@renaissancejames Thanks for the quick response! - Hows the heel cushion been holding up? - my bondi 7s heel cushion ripped in 3 month!

    • @renaissancejames
      @renaissancejames  2 года назад +4

      @@deepanjitsinghkohli2487 Wow. I've never had the heel rip before. I've gone through two sets of Bondi7, but I replace when the heel gets too low, and that's after 500-1000 miles of dirt and road running.
      The SRs are doing great so far. The only issue is they seem a little narrow and don't appear to be loosening up much. I've used them every day for a month now, and used them to travel in London, New Orleans, and Seattle.
      So far, so good. The heel is much different than the Bondi 7--more of a tougher rubber and a lot of it. I am not seeing any wear at all yet. But again, I only use them for walking around and never for running.

    • @deepanjitsinghkohli2487
      @deepanjitsinghkohli2487 2 года назад +1

      @@renaissancejames nice to hear that. Will be getting the SRs then. And also Hello from Seattle!

    • @renaissancejames
      @renaissancejames  2 года назад +1

      @@deepanjitsinghkohli2487 Right on! Yeah, I was basically using the Bondi 7 for running and then using them as walking shoes once the heel got too low (usually after 500 miles). They are extremely comfortable for walking around, but the SR does have stronger support. Both are great options, though I would never use the SR for actually running.
      I'm using the Bondi X for running now. Not as plush, but good for going a little faster.
      Hope Seattle has received some sunlight. I was there a few weeks ago. I visit about five times a years. It's my second home.
