I actually use Bondi's even when running tempo and intervals as they seem to protect my knees from the increased impact of hard runs. Everyone says you don't use them for fast runs , and I am sure there are faster shoes for that but my legs do the work anyways, not the shoes.

    • @saysoun752
      @saysoun752 Год назад +4

The shoes does most of the work but, your legs have to be able to take the impact of each stride. You might run faster in another shoe but, you'll definitely feel it right after and especially the next couple of days.

very jealous of this experience! I love the Bondi but using them for my everyday work completely destroys them - I get a new pair every 6 months but really they show a lot of wear for me by month 4. Frustrating (and expensive) since they're the only shoe that I can be virtually pain free in. I'm hoping the slightly different construction of these 8s somehow help.

I just got this shoes to replace my 2 year old Skechers and even older Asics. I love it instantly when i put it on and did some steps in the store. Was considering(and tried the fit) of Asics Gel Kayano 30, Nimbus 25, GT 2000 for the price, but Bondi 8 just take the podium for me right away. I am beginner runner, 2.4 - 5km few times a week. I cannot wait to test it out tomorrow!

Bondi 4 was the first Hoka I ever tried. I just wanted to see what all the hype was about. And yeah, it was a really nice and comfortable shoe. I've tried other Hokas.....but have had fit issues and blister problems. Generally I'm more a minimalist shoe guy than max cushion....so probably don't need to add this one to the collection. Plus I promised my wife I'd try to curb my shoe purchase addiction. The struggle is real....

Have worn Bondi for years.People misunderstand what the shoe is for.Its got loads of cushion but its not super soft. This is because its designed for long easy runs.If you run over an hour then you will feel as good in the first mile as the last.If I do the same in say the clifton then although it feels super soft to start with after an hour you start to lose a lot of that feel and it almost feels like its bottoming out a little.Having said that if the shoe has got narrower again this is a backward step.Early Hoka's had that issue and despite only having a slightly above average width foot I still have to wear the wide versions.

I just purchased this specific version, the Bondi 8, and they fit true to size, not narrow at all. Not as tight or narrow as I thought given this review, in fact they have some room. I have normal width feet, and these fit perfect. For reference, I am a size 10 in asics kayano and addidas ultra boost and size 9.5 in Jordan 1s. Big fan of the channel. These have a plush firm feel, which is exactly what I was looking for. Rotating btw these and the nike pegasus for shorter runs.

The first and last Hoka shoes that I will purchase. It is like running in soft sand, and these runners managed to knock 1 minute/km off my average run time. They just suck the life from your legs as you increase time and kms. I would avoid these shoes for anyone that 1) enjoys running and 2) wants to keep enjoying running. Where they might add value is for recovery days, or for people that are training for an event that has them running through knee deep mud or in very soft sand across sand dunes.
I am a heavy runner (90kg+) that runs 50km+ each week, and have not had an injury in about 5 years. These shoes changed that. My knees and ankles were inflamed and sore for days after running a slow 10km.
I usually wear Saucony or On Cloud shoes, and have recently switched back...and the muscle soreness disappeared...and my times magically came back up to my normal average!!
They are OK and comfortable for wearing around the house as a pair of slippers, but as a shoe for running - i would not recommend.

I work in footwear and I can’t tell you how many times people have said the bondi gives a pressure point on the inside of the arch (me included). Usually it’s on one foot which is weird aswell. I have the narrowest feet so width isn’t the issue. For female customers having this issue I have given them a mens hoka due to the different arch placement. A woman’s wife still doesn’t work for them so again it isn’t width. I still don’t have a solution for men besides using an insert but I feel that takes away from the hoka feel. Bummer.

The only reason I even watched this was because of the sub header, Fat Bottom Fun.

For me they are all pretty much the same. Mach, Clifton, Bondi etc. I can't really tell the difference any more. I am confused

I dunno, I feel like they are sleeping on this shoe. You can run fast with it. It supports your shoe. I don’t think their opinion is that accurate towards it’s just a recovery shoe.

Once they stop making shoes shaped like a torpedo and start making them shaped like the human foot, I'll buy a Hoka.

Not soft at all! Not plush at all!the review is misleading specially for lighter people. I weight 190 lbs and this has no bounce at all!

Her "wide foot". You guys mention that everytime she's in a video.
I have to wonder if you're making something out of nothing? The feamle foot shape is typically a "triangle" vs the male foot which is "rectangular". Most shoes on the market oddly are made for the male foot. They just add "feminine colour ways" and say it''s a "woman's" shoe. A few companies recently have started making true women's shoes. Actually shoes like the Nike Vaporfly is a "woman's shoe" :) Wide forefoot with a narrow heel. :) What we've been doing is making guys run in "heels" :)) ....high 40mm heel height/narrow heel outsolde. You'd think women running in the Vaporfly would do better than men :))
You'd think companies would get a "trace" of female feet BACK IN THE DAY when they began making "girls/women's" runners....logical no?? :) Did Nike and HOKA not do that when making eheir first shoe for men? For each size....get a sample of 50 guys with size 9.5 feet...etc.

For being classified as a comfort shoe it has absolutely zero right being so narrow. It’s why i’ve never been able to wear the Bondi’s 😞
