    “USB no media” error is a common USB error that usually occurs when the system restricts users from accessing a USB drive, even after recognizing it properly. Several factors can cause the “USB Drive no media” error, including the USB isn’t connected to the computer properly, the USB drive is outdated, the USB Port is broken or damaged, the USB drive contains suspicious malware or bad sectors, etc. However, we have the solutions to fix the USB flash drive no media problem.
    Timestamps:
    0:00 Intro
    0:48 Factors that cause the “USB Drive no media” error
    1:25 Solution 1: Reconnect the USB drive
    1:48 Solution 2: Repair the Disk with an Error Checking Feature
    2:30 Solution 3: Enable the USB in Device Manager
    3:17 Solution 4: Change the USB drive letter

    None of the suggested "solutions" actually apply the "no media" error.
    1) If the USB key itself is properly detected, but its internal storage is missing, switching to another USB port won't help.
    2) You can't scan the drive for errors if there's no drive to scan in the first place.
    3) If you can see the "no media" error, the USB device is enabled already, obviously.
    4) You can't change the drive letter of a missing drive, obviously.
    5) You can't check a filesystem on a missing drive, obviously.

      Totally agree. When there is a physical problem none of these methods works. This video is useless. Actually, when the USB drive has physical problems (bad sector, controller issues) there are no public software solutions to fix or repair them somehow. IF you are lucky to save your data, in 90% of the cases that is the best you can achieve. You have less than 10% chance to save your USB drive.
      1. The problem starts right at the Windows itself. When Windows have problems handling the problematic drive properly, it means its built-in internal fault handling solutions are already screwed and there is a high chance they will not work. So if this is the case, NONE of any method proposed to use windows built-in testing and repairing functions will work.
      2. Many so-called "repairing software" are just a scam. They just want your money. They have nice look, and a pretty display, BUT they are actually not real software. I mean they are but all the programmer did is this nice display screen, but behind the curtain the software itself does nothing just tries to run some windows internal software like checkdisk. THE REAL applications are using third-party methods collecting information about the faulty drive and using their own methods to fix it. Recoverit unfortunately not belongs to the real ones.
      3. If you wanna save your data, first you have to read a lot, second try different softwares to test the bad USB drive and learn which one gives you EXTRA info above you already know from windows error messages. Third: If you find one, that really gives you something different, something new info compared to the "shitty ones". USE THAT one, to repair your drive and get back your data. There are even some free ones too those are really works. (I cannot write names here for obvious reasons.)

    Recoverit is the most useless piece of software I have ever seen, not only it is extravagantly expensive, but it doesn't even do half of what ordinary free software does. It doesn't even detect the USB drive let alone being able to scan the damn thing, even windows detects the USB drive and allocates a letter to it, but unable to access it, the cheapest subscription for one year is no less than $70 they must be joking, I won't pay this amount in a million years, I would rather lose all the data than pay them for something tha doesn't even bloody work, talk about greed, so please stop promoting these scams,

    I bought a USB today and I wanted to do sth. The one USB i plugged in, (and want to use) is supposed to be formated and than be made bootable, and a iso file written to it. Its a intenso ultraline with 128 GB storage. After that I wanted to replace the iso. Than it all went wrong. After a quick analyze, I was like...im screwed. It was plugged in, and it was switching between no media and online. for the chkdsk command it didnt do anything due to beeing raw. non partitioned. And its like switching fast and you cant do stuff like allocating space. While the USB is connected, it has a red light that indicated that is plugged in and it fliccers when something is written to it. I dont think I can give it back, and if I lie they can check the events. It didnt cost that much...like 20 Euro. But its my money (Im not alloved to work), and I dont want to waste money.
    (Im like having the worst things ever. 1 year after I got my laptop,somehow wifi was corrupted or sth, than after a reset the win licence was corrupted, after another reset a service wassnt working and couldnt change that, and now im here)

      I have the exact same problem. I think my USB is dead space, but you can check if yours isn't. open the command prompt as he told in the video (make sure you use administrator). Typ: diskpart then press enter. then wait a few seconds for the program to boot (agree to administrator requirement notifications if they pop up). then type list disk press enter, and select the disk that doesn't work by typing select disk (X) (x is the number found in the list). after that type detail disk and press enter. if the disk ID is 00000000 and there are no volumes detected your stick is basically dead space. if it doesn't say that I suggest doing a little google exploring adventure for software that can retrieve data or maybe fix the stick.
      my problem occurred when I tried to set a video on it. it took way longer than it should have. so I canceled it, the program crashed, so I closed it and *took the stick out*. then when I plugged it in it issued problems and I needed to format it. later I kinda hate myself for not doing that, however, I am not sure anymore if I did it after all. at some point I did something and after that the whole stick was dead. I searched online for answers and found someone with the exact problem and issued that the stick was overheating. then in the answers, I read the following: your stick has no medium and will never work. you might as well throw it away (or something like that). I hope I could somewhat help you with this.

    Like man people, I transfer videos from my pc onto a usb drive, which I then plug into my tv and watch. Recently, and I'm not sure if it's the usb drive or my pc, but when I try to watch a video now on my tv, the picture is 'jerky' and doesn't run smoothly, also, although the sound is perfect, it's completely out of synch with the images. I've tried more than one tv, so I know the problems not at that end. I've tried reformatting the drive, but that doesn't make any difference. Any suggestions please?

    • @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware
      @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware  Год назад

      Hi there,
      Thank you for your question. You can check the connection between the USB drive and the TV. Make sure the USB drive is inserted properly and the TV is set to the correct input source. Try copying the video files to a different USB drive and see if the playback issue persists. If the issue goes away, it could be that the original USB drive is faulty or has a slow transfer speed.
      If none of the above solutions work, you might need to consider using a different method to watch your videos on your TV, such as streaming through a smart TV or using a media player that supports various file formats.

      Hi there, thank you for your question! Then its most likely an issue with the drive itself being damaged I would recommend trying to make sure the USB drive is clean and nothing is interfering with the connection and try it on a different device if that doesn't work it must be an issue with the drive itself and I would recommend purchasing a new USB drive.

    My USB stick was functional until i tried deleting a large 20GB folder on it which it struggled to complete, then i attempted to eject afterwards. Something failed, and now the drive doesn't even show up in 'This PC' nor can it be formatted/partitioned in Disk Management. This USB drive has only been used a few times, i can't imagine it's completely failed already.
    None of these fixes have done anything for it.
    1. Tried reconnecting on different ports and computers
    2. Checking for system errors is useless when no media is reported and it's not even showing within This PC
    3. Enabling/Disabling/Uninstalling and restarting didn't help
    4. Changing the drive letter did absolutely nothing
    5. CHKDSK can't check the disk if there's no media detected
    6. AOMEI won't detect the drive at all, i assume no other apps can
    Is there some software that can fix whatever is stopping the drive from being recognized by anything? I'd like to reformat it, but that's not an option in Windows. Is it just dead after 2-3 uses? That's hard to believe, there must be some other fix for it. Perhaps there's another driver that would allow it to function since the "GENERIC USB FLASH DISK USB Device" driver isn't doing much.

      Hi there, thank you for your question! To potentially recover your lost 68 GB of data, first, refrain from any further use of the flash drive to prevent data overwriting. Check Disk Management in Windows to see if it's recognized there, then attempt data recovery using software like Recoverit. You can also run the chkdsk command to fix file system errors. If these methods fail, consider formatting the drive again, but only as a last resort, as it will erase any remaining data. For critical data, professional data recovery services may be necessary.

    • @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware
      @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware  Год назад

      Hi there, thank you for your question! it indicates that the disk or volume you're trying to access is currently in use or has an ongoing process preventing direct access. To address this, close any programs or processes that might be accessing the disk, run Command Prompt as an administrator, or use the CHKDSK command with the /F parameter to attempt automatic error fixing. If the disk is still inaccessible, schedule CHKDSK to run on the next restart using the /F /R parameters.

    Hey! I have no clue if you'll see this but I'm going to ask anyway. So I got this usb to hdmi adapter that came with a disc to install drivers but I have no way of getting the drivers off of the disc since I don't have a disc reader or whatever it is called. Also I don't know the manufacturer because it is a cheap shit, also I don't know what chipset is inside. I have tried a ton of different drivers but no success. Can you help me out?

    • @maximvanderhoeden2477
      @maximvanderhoeden2477 11 месяцев назад

      Well, if you still have this problem, I would recommend getting a disk driver, might be a bit expensive, but if you really want the driver, it’s your only hope then. You can also ask people in your neighborhood and other places if they have one. That’s all I can think of. Hope it might help (also I think it is a disk driver but I’m not sure).

    • @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware
      @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware  4 месяца назад

      Hi there, thank you for your question! This error means that CHKDSK cannot access the disk you want to check because it is being used by another process or program. Disable any third-party services that may lock the partition, such as antivirus, disk monitor, or backup tools. Uninstall any third-party software that may interfere with CHKDSK, such as drive encryption, disk management, or partitioning tools. Run CHKDSK at boot time, before Windows loads. You can do this by opening Command Prompt as an administrator and typing chkdsk /x /f /r followed by the drive letter you want to check. Then, restart your computer and let CHKDSK run during the startup process.
