I still quote this every time my squad of random players and I get in the thick of the action on Battlefield 3 on the PS3. I just recently returned to it after having last played it on console about 6-7 years ago. . . (Or longer) More smiles and exciting moments of "that was cool!" than 2042. . . BF3 is just far more gritty and vibrant, saturated in gun to gun combat goodness than 2042; it's on the same level as Battlefield 1, BF1 and BF3 are simply just Battlefield perfected. I don't want to be 'that guy'-who trashes on 2042, it just doesn't have the love of the soul in its DNA that was poured into the previous Battlefields. It does feel more streamlined like it was meant for the arcade and that I agree with! Still a great game series, but the newest iterations are found lacking.

2042 is what you get when they care more about graphics hardware carrying the presentation than they do art style and dynamics like physics. There are parts of 2042 that look noticeably better in a vacuum, but overall presentation of those graphical additions is sorely lacking. Large, less detailed maps is also a huge problem. more bigger ≠ more better

I have been playing battlefield since 2002, the very first battlefield i played was 1942 and it was sooo good at the time, then Vietnam and then battlefield 2, these were the times when not too many people had a PC and you had to go to an internet cafe that had lan sessions all night. These were the good old days of early 2000's.
Had to? I was playing Halo: CE for the PC on multiplayer back then from the comfort of my own home. Pirated 1942 so I only ever played that in single player, which wasn't a whole lot of fun. Then the Star Wars Battlefront series comes out and I still play II to this day; but not the new ones.

But when 2042 came out, it was not so impressive in terms of graphics, and map design is so barren. In addition, there is no campaign in 2042, I know a lot of sweaty multiplayer fans do not give a damn about campaign whatsoever, but as a customer who paid real money for this game, I expect great campaign and great multiplayer, and I refuse to simp or speak for EA or any other greedy entertaining corporation.

People getting blind from the building effects. Gameplay was pretty boring for me. And comparing the most epic scenes what bf4 can offer with the most boring scenes is an unfair and hateful comparison.

But when 2042 came out, it was not so impressive in terms of graphics, and map design is so barren. In addition, there is no campaign in 2042, I know a lot of sweaty multiplayer fans do not give a damn about campaign whatsoever, but as a customer who paid real money for this game, I expect great campaign and great multiplayer, and I refuse to simp or speak for EA or any other greedy entertaining corporation.

I cant lie ive been playing 2042 a lot and enjoying my time with it. Its a shame BC2 and 1943 servers are going offline soon. Those r my favs. Only matter of time till 3 shares the same fate. I wish theyd update portal so we can enjoy these games still... in some way... despite the shutdown.
Bad Company 2 was the perfect FPS for me, amazing destruction and the hardcore mode was cool
