Peacoat is a personal favorite atm. I'm rocking a black, charcoal grey & light brown. All being thrift store finds that I have managed to pick up during the last year or so. Can't knock a good bargain! It's like a treasure hunt Imho. Having a keen eye with some patience, persistence & eventually one should find what is on the list. Be nice to see a video on Men's Fall/Winter Head Wear if possible in the future, unless I have missed it. Solid review as always Brother!!
Jeff the Ole But Goodie is a Classic!!! Man I had Two of these years ago back in The 90"s a Black and a Navy Blue (Which was stolen), These Coats will NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE!!!!
Just subscribed after watching your videos for a long time O.G.. I definitely dig the content. Got a question/advice for a video; What to wear to bed or good loungewear when u trying entertain that one chick that you surprised urself by getting?! Tips on how to set the mood to "seal the deal" and first date do's and don'ts...Good looking out O.G.! Blessings
Peacoats are awesome. I have the Ted Baker London, Westun Double Breasted Peacoat. Oh and Nordstrom and Rack has them for 229 down priced from 575. Really good deal, and don't pay retail.
Thanks OG! Now that we're past the holidays and stores are dumping inventory, I'm on the prowl for a pea coat for this early spring and next fall. The rust/orange coat would rock with dark green or navy blue. Great video!
I want to buy a peacoat this fall, but noticed overcoats are good for a casual look. What's the difference? And which is more versatile? I'm going for a casual look first
A peacoat is always casual, due to it being only mid thigh length max. An overcoat is slightly longer. A peacoat always has an ulster collar (the collar is made to be popped up) and a double breasted construction. An overcoat can have an ulster collar, a notch lapel, a peaked lapel or even a shawl collar. It can be anything from ankle length up to mid thigh, single breasted or double breasted. Peacoats are typically made of melton, while overcoats can be made of melton, but can also be made of regular wool, alpaca, cashmere, tweed, loden, sheepskin, leather or even fur. They often posess waist surpression and can have velvet collars and in the case of an evening overcoat even satin lapels. Bridge coats are greatcoats, which are nowadays counted as overcoats and are essentially a longer version of a peacoat only available to officers. I'd say that overcoats are more versatile, because there is an overcoat for you no matter who you are and a dark/medium grey/navy/black wool cashmere blend coat could be worn with anything from jeans and a sweater up to a white tie ensemble. The maximum you can dress up a peacoat without it looking off is an odd trouser combination.
Great look Jeff. I love to see a pea coat on a man. I like it myself for a women. I like the short cut and double breast. I like the wool blend and i love the rust color. It may seem like its a little high in price..but not really because u get a lot of years of wear out of it. They are definitely a worthy investment. Great job with sharing the knowledge info always in point bro♥
But If you want THE NUMBER ONE best peacoat Go for the Schott peacoat 😉 Having my Jcrew peacoat this winter I gotta say the 8 button layout with tighter fit is the best peacoat on the market, but gotta size down, I got XS
I'll stick to traditional. I'm average height. That coat is great at football games between schools where everyone in the student body either tests well or reads voraciously.
Jeff, can you recommend a peacoat for me, a short guy? I'm 5'4" and 120lbs. I just got a peacoat from Express but it's a bit longer than I would like so I'm still deciding whether or not to keep it.
Great picks, the rust one. That thing is dope. I'm waiting to see if I can find a sterlingwear of boston, made in USA peacoat when thrifting, cool company worth reading about, they got military contracts and make the authentic us navy one and a pretty much full milspec civilian market one too, I'm hoping I can find a minty military surplus one like my sterlingwear us marines trench I thrifted a few weeks ago, look for that name in the budget racks, they are a strong value prop. For now my peacoat is an older heavy thick leather with removable warmth liner one by Donna Karren, w a wool branie,, it makes my street cred stock go,up each time I rock it. But if I was going to get a new stylish one, any and all those options are spot on
Can confirm Sterlingwear makes the best. Good luck finding used - they’re so good people hang on to them. You can buy brand new mil spec from their site for $250 or so. Made in USA 🇺🇸
