Found good deals on some Ralph Lauren overcoats from Macy's. They're originally about $500, and on sale for about $170. I've never worn an overcoat before but I love the style a ton. I definitely think I'm going to go with grey or a shade of brown. I definitely have enough black jackets.

I seriously feel a real (military specification) pea coat can take an overcoat and ‘beat it up’, whilst fulfilling all of these roles and more. Heheh So much more comfort and versatility, I think. A peacoat looks just as sleek and professional but looks tougher when a tough look is better. Plus, a pea coat has the strength of looking very relaxed and casual far more than an overcoat. It’s just…so much more, for less. I completely agree most especially on the watch. Heck, even a cheap, retro Casio that’s a silver-colored metal…looks great, especially if it’s chunky! 🙂 Speaking of chunky, I believe a pair of thick, flat black oxfords are well worth considering for any and all of these outfits/options as well. Dressy a lil…tough a lil. Both. Cheers, gentlemen! Don’t forget an itty bitty bit of a masculine cologne! Don’t go too far! You might want to invest in an overcoat in an ulster or greatcoat style or at least a double breasted one with big enough lapels, that you could fold over to cover your chest. My first one had big lappels and an ulster collar, so after adding an extra button to secure my left lapel to my right shoulder, I haven't had problems with wind so far.

What is the general rule for buttoning coats? I noticed in the beginning of video you buttoned only the bottom button on the camel coat and later on switched to just the top.

One option is to size down because overcoats are usually meant to be worn over a suit. Another option is to buy from European brands (English or Italian). They tend to have more streamlined cuts.
