Hey guys! Overcoats are one of the most stylish pieces during the fall and winter,. so today I'm telling you what kind of overcoat to look for, how an overcoat should fit, and 5 ways to style an overcoat.
Camel brown, black, and grey are the best places to start when getting yourself comfortable. Fit should be slim but not too tight.
Whether you're dressing fancy or casually, there are great ways to wear these coats to stay warm and look awesome. I'm a big fan of layering with them and I think you will be too.

hi man , are you suppose to wear an overcoat over a tie and suit or can you wear it over a dress shirt and jeans ? I have an over coat but I don't know if its suppose to go over a jacket and tie or whether its suppose to be worn alone over jeans
I like the 4:35 style , I would wear a all black dress shirt instead and a brown belt but that is always how I imagined over coats , over a suit , I didn't know you can wear them over dress shirt or t-shirts , I thought they are made to be over over a blazer only

Found good deals on some Ralph Lauren overcoats from Macy's. They're originally about $500, and on sale for about $170. I've never worn an overcoat before but I love the style a ton. I definitely think I'm going to go with grey or a shade of brown. I definitely have enough black jackets.

6:58 is my type of style. Throw in some shades/gloves with accessories. Sometimes even with a turtleneck depends on weather though. Great content man. 👍

I usually wear down jackets in the winter in canada. Now looking to lean into a coat thats good when the weather becomes around -5C. Thanks for the video. Might need to wear a hoodie inside for the air hitting my chest

You might want to invest in an overcoat in an ulster or greatcoat style or at least a double breasted one with big enough lapels, that you could fold over to cover your chest. My first one had big lappels and an ulster collar, so after adding an extra button to secure my left lapel to my right shoulder, I haven't had problems with wind so far.

Exactly the black one will fit over a suit. And brown just over a sweater. I like youre idea of doing both fits. And important since you are long and slim it would look really weird baggy..

What is the general rule for buttoning coats? I noticed in the beginning of video you buttoned only the bottom button on the camel coat and later on switched to just the top.
Typically the rule is leave the bottom one undone just like a suit jacket. Tbh I think I buttoned the bottom one by accident haha

I have the same issue with every overcoat I wear, they always fold weird around my stomach and waistline and become very bulky and such and idk why, cuz im not very big around that area, the coats fit me otherwise, they arent to small. I just dont know

Have you tried sizing down or maybe look at different cuts of coats? I tried from years of owning coats that spending a little bit more on quality coats go a long way with how it fits and keeps long term
One option is to size down because overcoats are usually meant to be worn over a suit. Another option is to buy from European brands (English or Italian). They tend to have more streamlined cuts.
