- I'm a convert and want you to experience gorgeous salon color at home using demi permanent! I'm not a licensed hair stylist but Rachel Korman is and her demi permanent gray blending on brunettes convinced me that it could work for me as well. It takes a little trial and error, you may need to strip YEARS of box dye from your hair using Malibu CPR, but take a listen and decide if more youthful, lustrous hair is for you!

This was mine several years ago and I loved it on me. I’ve since grown so much white hair I can’t do it any more. I love the color. I now use the EQ from the same Canadian store. It’s very good stuff.

A color conditioner and a touch up with a color gloss in salon is mandatory with reds. Especially in the begging when going blonde to any shade of red. Demi color is wonderful and lasts as long as permanent minus the oxidation and not as damaging. Demi absolutely can cover white/ gray. The only thing it can’t to is lighten your hair, but great coverage. The box dyes are usually misused and people run it through to ends of hair, not just on roots every time which leads to the flat shoe polish look.

Michelle this was such a great video! Thank you for taking the time to share all that you have learned through your own journey. I am a dark brunette and did my own roots for the last several years and to break up that dyed look I would get baylage done. Two years ago I treated myself and got my roots done by my stylist and then never went back to doing it myself because with her it did look more natural. It.s just so time consuming and costly because I have to get it done every five weeks and honestly should be doing at four weeks. You may have just convinced me to try Shades!

Great info! Love the copper on you. I embraced my natural grey quite a few years ago. I always coloured my hair auburn then when I started going grey I went blonde (my sister is a professional hairstylist, so I was lucky) then got fed up with colour and decided to to go grey and got my hair coloured a silver grey until my own colour grew out enough to stop colouring. I now have long silver grey curls and I get more compliments on my hair than I ever did as with another colour.
I think silver is stunning. Im jealous of silver sisters! Mine is barely 20% gray so it will be a long time before Ill be 75%+ grey

As I’ve been growing out my natural hair color with some sparkles, I’ve been using shades eq, so much nicer on my hair as it also has a bonder inside. Yes, it washes out after 3 weeks but that’s sort of the point.
I’ll also add you can find a color chart online which shows you all the shades eq colors, super helpful.

Hi Michelle. I’m a natural redhead aging and fading. I used to use Shades EQ in the salon and at home. Now that I have some white at my roots in places (redheads don’t get gray we get white) which color are YOU using for roots with the N? My rots are reddish leaning white with faded aged natural red. I need something to grab the white to help the red stay. I know you’re not a professional colorist but curious which N shade you use. Thank you.

Great question, I do roots and let sit on up to 40 minutes and run the copper through the rest of my hair the final 20 min. You certainly can do it a day or two later though ❤

Thx for the info! Ive used the Redken EQ 3N a few times with their developer & it doesn't do anything for my roots at all. It works beautiful everywhere else, but its like i did nothing in roots & i dont have a lot of them. Is it possible to use a 10 developer with the EQ instead of theirs?

Great video I am a white striper LOL So on the roots definitely you have to use 10 volume No doubt about it Otherwise it's not gonna do anything Believe me I have tried ,, I'm just about to try to do a strawberry blonde for fall I love red can shave cube and I also love love Joico... I get my products of But you have to But you have to remember that shades EQ Is a temporary color gloss, And depending on how long you leave it on this how long the washers you will get out of it I did the same thing with wella It's a potent color You can take any box color and just use 10 volume A lot of box colors come with 30 volume that's why you only leave it on 30 minutes 25 volume.. So a lot of times I'll get box color And use 10 volume instead of what's in the box But then for my ends Mid shaft to ends I use shades or joico Refresh my Right now my color is just Icky no color It was golden blonde but now it's washed out to just a no blonde1 of my favorite things to add to blondes is shade ss Papaya It's a great color to add If you want a hint a strawberry I'll mix 9G9GI And 09P PPP Which is papaya And it comes out to such And it comes out to such a great shade I'm always playing around it's never the same

Hi Michelle! Love your content. I have been toying with doing my hair and warmer color. My hair actually tends to pull very warm between my natural, reddish undertones and my well water that’s loaded with iron. I was thinking of either the color that you were when you first went to the Ulta trip, or a strawberry blonde, but I’m not sure how to get there. Do you think using one of the I GK masks as a tester would work? Just to see how the tones look on me before committing to a color?
I was just watching the video more and the honey blonde is what I was looking at originally but then saw a pretty strawberry blonde. I also have dark roots. My normal hair color is a dark auburn, but it just faded to brown after I had children. I’ve been blonde for the last 14 years. I do it myself with L’Oreal Feria and honestly I get it to come out better than the salon has. Was thinking of ferria strawberry blonde, but I’m afraid to go over the blonde without knowing exactly what I’m doing.

@@maturemakeupmasterclass Yeah, it is permanent, but it's not like that box dye. It's professional what they use in the salons, so the colors come out absolutely beautiful and natural looking. As long as you're using a natural color and not a fashion color.

The aqua color is a direct dye and CPR won’t touch it.
Your lipstick always looks like it stays on. My lipstick never stays on. Frustrating. I think you showed a Merit lipstick that was really pretty. Is that long lasting?
Hair color is beautiful on you! I don't care for it that straight on you. I also think as you get older, the parted in the middle, straight hair, is a look more for the younger girls. Also, love the blouse with your hair color.

I dont look good with my hair parted on the side, even my family and friends prefer middle. My face is broad thru the middle so center part balances my face bettee
My hairdresser insists I use only PH balanced products because the others ruin your hair
