As a Volvo S60 owner of both the first and second generation, i can definitely say the design looks very good. The problems with this generation are at least 2. Firstly they dropped all real colors after 2021-22, all they have are whites blacks and grays which is depressing tbh. And secondly, the electrified engines are not bad themselves, its the weight of the batteries and in the end the weight of the whole car which brings any sportiness to it's knees. So imho, if I'll ever buy an S60 of this generation it's goind to be second hand, r-design, bursting blue, probably T5 (no battery, electric, mild hybrid nonesense), from the first part of 2020.

Agreed! I like color and went with red but the bursting blue is gorgeous also except it's almost impossible to find, if at all, in the US. I don't like black trim either so prefer the bright trim. I also went T5 turbo only for reliability though in the winter I'll miss the traction. The power of the t6 and awd drives beautifully but didn't want to risk reliability after warranty of the more complicated supercharged and awd combo which I suspect will be much more costly to own and maintain long-term. So a pre-owned 2020 red on blonde t5 was what I settled on and it's been wonderful so far! 🙂

Beautiful looking car. Looks much better than new C class, 3 series and A4s in my opinion. Would go for bright theme with a different color creme interior tho.

Hi, this Volvo S 60 B5 all-wheel drive connect 8 speed is an awesome car I liked this car a lot pole star engineers designed it very neatly looks great mild hybrid with 247 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque 0 to 60 7 7.3 which is awesome however I liked one stuff a lot we don't have any exhaust tip visible pearl white is my favourite colour they have a specific function I will say embodied the good news we do still have climate setting being at the bottom to infotainment system I think that very significant to the drive we don't need find elsewhere I liked the seats they are very comfortable I agree with you the Volvo name looks sinister thanks this is an amazing review thanks again.

No way this polestar version does 0-60 in just 7.1 secs. I own one of the 450 made (225 Black/225 White) it’s an AWD Mild Hybrid with Ultimate package with the polestar preinstalled.
I did a track run because of the lack of info and i was getting low ti mid 5 secnds with the Polestar software enabled and 94 Octane. Cars got 6,000 miles and is kept in a garage.

I purchased a pre-owned 2020 S60 a few months ago and so far its been excellent overall. It's easily the best looking car in its class with only BMW 3 coming in 2nd place.
The interior is also modern and gorgeous. Criticism comes down to the built in navigation kinda sucks and using your phone navigation is limited to less than half of the infotainment screen which is fixed with the 2022/3 android based setups. They also should've keep physical dials/controls for thr climate system as well as heated seats. Seats, as expected of Volvos, are also excellent and at top of class in comfort and support.
Powertrain in the t5 is good but would be curious to try the mild hybrid b5 as there is some lag sometimes without but nothing too noticeable. Wish you could option a 5 cylinder turbo like past Volvos-that would be preferable over the questionable reliability of the t6 supercharged versions of the current models. Efficiency of the t5 is excellent on the highway just wish it ran on regular unleaded and was a proper hybrid in the city-though the extra cost isn't worth the price increase that would require like the t8.
    Exterior: 5/5
    Interior Design: 5/5
    Infotainment/Climate: 3/5
    Powertrain: 4/5
    Handling: 4/5
    Steering: 4/5
    Ride quality: 4/5
Overall a solid, well rounded performer!

how is the response time of that screen? i like the look of this car and and saw a similar used one like yours on the market. however, i read about laggy response time so wanted to get your thoughts. not as concerned about "everything" being digital screen as that is just a known thing, but i'm more concerned about response time when you want to do something. do you also get wireless apple carplay or is it wired only? thank you. your feedback matters a lot to me since you are a real owner.

    • @st.thomas5802
      @st.thomas5802 8 месяцев назад

@brians1225 screen lag is barely noticeable and not a bother to me at all. Of course all touchscreens are inferior to real knobs and buttons but as far as touchscreens go it's definitely workable. No wireless carplay on the 2020 but might have changed in newer models with updated infotainment.
I've got no real complaints about the car-just small niggles like mentioned but no dealbreakers. No car is perfect but imo it's a stunning car inside and out and unique compared to German rivals. I'd describe it as well rounded and modern sedan as good as any you'll find. Definitely research and drive them and see what you like best. I like BMW, Audi, Mercedes and Volvo all for different reasons and if it were at all reasonable I'd have one of each! 🙂
      My dream garage:
      Volvo V60 red/white
      Mercedes E400 coupe
      Audi SQ5 Blue/Gray
      BMW 540i white/brown
      Porsche Macan Blue
      Jaguar Ftype Red
