    ❤ About this video ----
【嘿hei 齁hou 】both are interjections and fillers commonly used in every daily Taiwanese life. This is a key to help you understand the REAL Taiwanese Mandarin, also it is aims to enhance your Chinese listening. Time to unveil the "secret" of the authentic Taiwanese Mandarin. The whole video is subtitled with Chinese and English. Japanese subtitle will be added few days later. (謝謝妳!涼子!感謝しました)
✨How to make the best of CultureChiChat listening practice?
I'd suggest you watch the video TWICE. The first time, watch it with subtitle, the second time, just listen and check your understanding. If it's not your level yet, don't get frustrated. Let the conversation flow and just enjoy it!
For advanced learners, let's spice up the listening practice. The first time, watch it WITHOUT subtitle. Then the second time, turn on the subtitle to check your understanding. THE MOST IMPORTANT IS, ENJOY IT!

Yeah, this is how conversations usually go with my family. i have a hard time describing it other than filler words that's very distinctly Taiwanese. When I hear this from afar in the States or Canada I automatically associate them as being Taiwanese and nowhere else. My wife (learning Mandarin right now from Mainlanders) does not understand why we do this. Like you said, it's most likely derived from 台語.

    在日本語有所謂あいずち. E, e, n,n…按我老婆說是”sublinguistic grunts.” 台灣人常用的 嘿,等等很像。。。有關係嗎?

Hi. Best thing, IMO, about your channel is that it is Taiwan-Chinese. If you promote this point, I think you'll be able to grow your community. You may also want to try promoting on the 104.com.tw and it's affiliated clazzrooms.com site, too. The clazzrooms' students want someone who can teach in Taiwan-Chinese and English.
