I'm honestly amazed at all the videos I see with old cars and trucks sitting for a while and the windows aren't all busted or cracked. That alone is impressive

It's great to see a wife and husband work together the way you all do I think it's very cool hey you work on these old trucks like this and bring them back to life good for you
I just have to say, Thank You! I hate it when people get old vehicles made to work and turn them into garage queens. That truck was made to work, and now it will be able to do it again! Well done.
Just had to go back and re-watch these homer video it's been six years since you got homer I sure would like to see this guy put to work again but first finishing the shop and whatever else you have to do
We resurrected a ‘58 GMC 2 ton out at the farm. We drained about a gallon of water out of the crankcase, but it eventually fired and we used it for cleaning manure out of the corrals for the day. It was a day worth remembering! They don’t make ‘em like they used to...
American people are good people i like watching those videos i learn something its entertaining ,main reason for me watching this videos is to learn more about the life in the USA
I didn't realize you'd literally only just pulled Homer out of 12 years sleeping in the woods when you moved. Damn, he was a great find and a real trooper with all the work he did for you moving your trucks and stock...
Electrical...pull all fuses, use a breaker. (20A) works well, track the circuits down one at a time...it's not a Forrest...just a bunch of trees standing together! Good video!

I don't know which is cooler, your bringing back old trucks to life or the fact you two are such a great match. How rare and how lucky for you both!! 👍
OMG, I love your videos, im a new viewer, love the old trucks and I enjoy it inmensely, But what I enjoy the most is how supportive your wife is, she loves what you love, and for that you're the luckiest man alive. Let me tell you that finding a woman that shares your dreams is nearly impossible, God bless you both. Love from Puerto Rico
Love the trucks ,over hear in the north east most are gone back to the earth or scraped ,case you did not know hei ignition needs 12 volt get rid of the resistor and or resistor wire and will run better.
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your videos. Your wife seems an especially sweet person, and your temperament seems loving & caring also & it's a joy to see the two of you getting along so well..... FredT
OMG this is so cool!! Back in 1994 My dad sold a 1959 Chevrolet Apache Step Side pickup with an inline 6 and an Oil Bath Carburetor. He sold it to the salvage yard in Walton Kansas, for $500 because he blew a Head Gasket and tried to fix it and failed.. He did not have the money to take it in to get fixed back then either. I was 9 years old and not a mechanic yet, my interest was playing with my friends.. oh and of course I had just developed an interest in Girls.. lol.. anyway I went back to Walton Kansas to that Salvage yard recently and the truck was gone, however.. I love Salvage Yards because they have some of the coolest old cars there are.. When I was 17 years old around 15 years ago I bought an old 1977 Ford Ranchero GT with the 351 WIndsor 5.8 Liter V8 engine and a 350 CFM Holey 2 Barrel Carburetor (H2-2300) and an FMX 3 Speed Transmission with a Ford 9 Bolt Rear Axle. It looked real rough when I bought it and it did not run, but I straightened out panels did engine work, started repairing it. I was 17. Changed out the distributor Hall effect coil, Ignition Coil, Ignition module, Cleaned out the Carburetor, did some rewiring, Bought a new Regulator, New Alternator, Plugs, WIres, Cap, Rotor.. Turned the key.. She fired right up.. I have had that Ranchero for 15 year and I still own it, it still runs.. It has 380,000 Miles on it and Antique tags on it! I love old cars, I wish I could have found my dad's old pickup, I would have definitely bought it and fixed it up!
What you guys do is awesome! I’m glad someone is out there rescuing those old chevys! Now I just wish someone would find and rescue old dodges! I gotta say, I just love Homer! Badass tow truck!

And the center of the heads are hotter than the ends, causing the heads to crack because of thermal expansion, not one of GM's best ideas. The HEI ignition is from the 1980s or late '70s, I think.
I had an issue on my 1971 Cuda where the original wiring for the alternator was routed between the valve cover and the intake manifold. The plumbing for my Holley 4bbl leaked near those wires and the carb back-fired causing those wires to ignite from the fuel spillage. After fixing all the carb leaks and timing, I routed the wires along the firewall and wheel well, and then to the alternator for a cleaner looking (and safer) wiring job. I hope this helps. Thanks for rescuing these relics, you are also restoring American heritage! Well done :)
That resistor is for the old points and condenser distributor. Knocks volts down to 8v so the points live longer. Since that is an HEI distributor, no points, it needs a full 12volts run to it. Cool truck. OK. I see others have already mentioned that. Looking forward to watching the rest of your videos.

It has the correct exhaust manifolds. They are called Center dump manifolds. Great find
And the center of the heads are hotter than the ends, causing the heads to crack because of thermal expansion, not one of GM's best ideas. The HEI ignition is from the 1980s or late '70s, I think.
