28:00 can we just stop and appreciate Henne for a minute? In his 2 playoff games that he’s come in for Mahomes, he did the unthinkable and carried our team. First against the Browns and then that 98 yard drive against the Jags, which ended up being the deciding score. Couldn’t be happier that we kept him for so long.

There is only 3 Qbs in NFL history with 2 MVPs, 2 super bowl victories, and 2 super bowl MVPS. Tom Brady, Joe Montana, and Patrick Mahomes. And Mahomes has only been a starter for 5 years. Not to mention accolades aside all of the records he either already holds or is on pace to shatter. It's sad how salty Bengals and Bills fans are. Mahomes is the greatest QB talent I have ever seen. He's not the greatest at any one trait except playmaking (we'll get to that in a second) but he's near the top of the list at everything.
He scrambles and eludes guys like Elway and Tarkenton. He does the arm angle stuff like Stafford, who is one of the more gifted QB's in recent memory. He has the accuracy of Rodgers, the arm strength of guys just a tad below Elway, and his raw playmaking ability is his own. He is such a pure athlete that he can make throws that people don't even think of; he's playing another game while everyone else is just playing football. He doesn't have blazing speed, his 40 time was below average, but he's great at acceleration and agile. He is as tough as nails.
What he doesn't get credit for is his intellect. He wasn't coached in college to read defenses. He has now picked up and mastered Reid's system. this season with depleted talent indicates that because he was playing more within the system than ever before. He's not Peyton Manning level brilliant (no one else was close) but he's on par with just about every other QB you can think of.
He is the best QB in the league. He is the best player in the league. He is the best talent in the league. He is the best in league, period. If you go "I'll take the guy who has played the game at the highest level ever," you have to take Mahomes.
We are watching the NFL's version of Babe Ruth. We are watching the new iteration of MJ/LBJ (let's avoid that debate for now)/Wilt. This is NFL Gretzky.
    This is a QB God.

The nearest comparison is Bart Starr. People have mentioned Brett Favre, but he was an asshole and took extreme risks. Mahomes' INT percentage is extremely low. Same as Starr. Actually, the consensus now that the season is over, is clear. Yes, Mahomes is the best QB, athleticism & highlight real play wise! But Burrow is the best QB at reading defenses, processing what he sees, & knowing where to go almost instantly. Burrow is great cuz of his high intelligence & Mahomes is great cuz hes athletic art. I wish we could just flash forward to this time next year." Now with every loss to that point in past seasons I was maybe a bit optimistic but never had I been as confident as I was that year. I loved watching this. From 2017-2022. During that 2018 season, sure Mahomes lit the world on fire when he threw 6 TDs against the Steelers, 4 or 5 against the Niners, but the game that made me realize he was for real was that Denver game on the road. He struggled throughout the majority of that game but the thing about Mahomes I loved in that game is he kept coming, he kept fighting. He made some amazing throws like the throw to Robinson, the throw to Hill, that throw for the first down to Kelce to set up first and goal , the TD run he had, and of course the improvserial throw to Hill with Von Miller on his tail. Overall that game made me realize Patrick Mahomes was for real. Because I got to see him how he dealt with adversity, and he dealt with it amazingly! That throw to Demetrius Harris was amazing.

19:21 I love how you can hear the crowd at Arrowhead yell “Sammy!” when they see Watkins break loose. That was the TD that effectively sent the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl in 50 years.

Just appreciate greatness when you see it. The record book standings will be what they are when the cleats are hung up.
Most accomplished? That would be Brady, of course - at least so far; we have to see what Mahomes can do with a 20-year career. But at a comparable point in careers? Mahomes leads them all, and it's not close. Five consecutive AFC Championship home appearances, 3 Super Bowls with 2 wins, most passing yards, most passing TDs.

    Great...GREAT video! Nicely done.
You know, I was born in Kansas CIty in 1971 and grew up cheering for the Chiefs during some pretty dark years. I moved away when I was 18 and lived in Hawaii for almost 30 years. I recently moved back to KC for a few years with my wife and kids and moved here right in 2018. I feel so blessed to just have moved here during this time and getting to experience all this in person. I also feel lucky to share this with my dad, who as a young man in his early 20's had season tickets and got to see powerhouse teams of the late 60's and early 70's. He had to dump his season tickets long ago(5 kids, etc) before I was born. He had them when they won in 70, and Super Bowl tickets were something like $12, but he couldn't afford to take off work and go to New Orleans. He saw the Chiefs win SB IV on TV as a young man of 25, and again 50 years later at the age of 75. I had only seen my parents sporadically for trips home during Christmas every 2-3 years or a couple of trips they made to Hawaii over the past 3 decades, so I was glad to be here to share this with him.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a game where you know that whoever wins the coin flip is going to win the game without a doubt. But that game and then the playoff game with the bills were both like that. Mahomes would have 4 right now if he won that toss and the bills may or may not have won a ring if they got the toss. Crazy what a coin flip used to mean for playoff games

A bad year for Mahomes is not being in the superbowl. That is a huge step up from every team. A good year, we make it to the SB and are a contender until the very last second. A really good year, League MVP, SB MVP, and SB champ. If that isn't legendary, throw every human out of the raceto legend status, right now.

Imagine being a Houston Texan with 9:30 left in the first half of the divisional playoff round. You are up 24-0 in Kansas City. Someone from the future appears and tells you this game is going to be a route. You smile and say "Excellent", and then they say "Ummm...you misunderstand. You are about to be routed". Confused, you try to wrap your head around what was just said, and ask, "You mean they come back and take the lead before the end of the game?" The time traveler says, "No, no, no...they take the lead before the half." Nothing makes any sense any more. But you seek solace and say, "Well, with Watson and Hopkins we will compete in the AFC for years." The time traveler says, "Yeah, about that..."

I still can't believe the change the Chiefs have gone through since drafting Mahomes. Before he got to KC, the team was coming off of it's worst years in the early 2010s and playoff futility in the following years. There were good teams and good players when they made the postseason but never could get over the hump. But since Mahomes? Yardage records. TD records. Winning records. Five straight AFC Championship Games, all in Kansas City, including three wins. A FIFTY-YEAR drought between championships, much less appearances, gone. Two titles to boot. It's been so incredible and I'm so lucky to be able just to root for the team and the players. Lifelong memories, right here.

He is already one of the all time greats. There are 3 players in NFL history with 2 MVPS, 2 Super Bowl Victories, and 2 Super bowl MVPS... Brady, Montana, and Mahomes. His first 5 years stack up against the most elite 5 year stretches ever for any QB. Dude would be a first ballot HOFer if he retired tomorrow. When all is said and done his only competition will be Brady.

"Now that Tyreek Hill is gone he's going to regress. He won't be that good now that he doesn't have a cheat code like Hill"
There will ALWAYS be doubters. His entire career people will constantly be trying to bring him down to earth. At one point in time the debate was who is going to have the better career, Mahomes or JARED FUCKING GOFF.
