I'm planning on playing a PC who is the offspring of a Kraken Priestess (see Kraken Priest from VGM) who was possessed by the Kraken she worshipped while pregnant and some of the Kraken's power transferred to the child. The long and short of my PC is they are a Path of the Beast Barbarian (PoB) who is Half Human Half Kraken (using Simic Hybrid race - the setting is D&D 5e) with a larger than life personality (think kinda like a Professional Wrestler). The Simic Hybrid race has a Feather Fall like ability (plan on PC having 1 or 2 funnels [what squids use for jet propulsion] on his back to use as roleplay for feather fall, extra movement, etc.) and the 6th Level PoB - Bestial Soul - allows for enhanced jumps (doesn't specify the type of jump). Just kinda invision them grappling enemies and performing Cyclone Piledrivers like Zangief from Street Fighter. The Bite attack will be a squid beak/maw, the tail will be a tentacle, etc. The Spider Climb ability will have the appearance of Dr. Octopus from Spider Man. Time to release the Kraken Barbarian!

Awesome vid. Love your depth of knowledge of the mechanics alongside the passion for role play. Fantastic to have the ‘how to play’ and how to DM sections too. Not just an antidote to power gaming but a clear vision for the whole subclass. Won an instant sub from me.
really love going through videos , the inclusion of flavor aspects is really neat. haven't played DND but this subclass seems so cool for like a wukong monkey/ape influence on a barbarian
I thought this was a great video. I have played a Leonin Pathof The Beast Barbarian. It's great to have a subclass that truly let's you fight with those natural weapons. It just feels like what a 7 foot bipedal lion should be able to do.
Can you do the swords bard one of these days? One of my favorite character ideas is my Half-SeaElf Swords Bard Dallius Wavebreaker and I would like to see what you can say about the subclass to inspire flavor stuff 👀
other then the claw feature beast barb is one of the weakest barb. great flavor, but arguably the bite should have healed based on damage to even be close to bear totem, tail should be a d10, claw should be d8 but you cant swing another weapon. I also think we should have got a d12 weapon have a special shove feature that deals damage when you preform a shove.
